Stolen from wreddit: In case you missed it, Big show has stated that the end of February would be his last time in WWE. He didn’t want a go away match, but simply go into retirement quietly which is why we never saw him at the Runble. He is expected to pursue other projects outside of WWE and could sign a deal like Mark Henry where he makes special apparences but is mostly a backstage agent. www.inquisitr.com/4736655/major-update-regarding-the-big-shows-retirement-and-wwe-future/Big Show has been in business longer than most fans of the current product have been alive. For over 20 years, the Big show entertained us all. Now we should thank him. #ThankYouBigShow In the immortal words of The Frog... Show. Show! (h)

Weren't he and Austin supposed to be the main for WM2000 before he went out with an injury? Or was that just something people made up? I can't say I really enjoyed much outside of maybe his WWECW title run. Was some good shit.

I was never really a fan of the Giant or Big Show at first. But over time he grew on me. Congratulations on a HoF career.
Did anyone else ever think of the name The Big Show was a jab at Ted Turner or WCW?

Did anyone else ever think of the name The Big Show was a jab at Ted Turner or WCW? Probably. He was named The Giant in WCW, which was an obvious dig at Andre The Giant, so when he came to WWE and had to change his name..

Probably one of the most underrated wrestlers to ever grace the squared circle. He was booked terribly, and fans never appreciated just how athletic he was for his size. I’ve never seen the early Andre matches where he is more mobile, but compared to other wrestlers of similar stature he wrestled a much more athletic style. Hopefully he enjoys retirement, and the chants about retiring didn’t get to him too much.

Was a big fan of his when he first came over to SmackDown! and was booked against the likes of Taker and Brock. He would later move on to the midcard but still have solid fueds with Eddie and Cena. Put him (Cena) over big at WrestleMania XX.
