Im at the gym now in my truck getting ready to do legs. I felt miserable all day super sore and tired and it was like 100 degrees all day, i thought to myself all day long im done with this shit. I put in all this work every day, do all this running, all the sprints and doing abs 3 times a week and dieting and eating right and feeling like total shit all the time and i look in the mirror and get on the scale and get so discouraged because i feel like im just not seeing the results i should be seeing. I probably need some steroids, fuck that shit though, im just going to keep grinding. Lets see what happens now Wait, but why not do steroids? They get such an unfair bad rap stigma. I've tried testosterone a few years back, it's not for me. As I get older though the more I realize I'm probably going to need it, I've heard that once you hit 34 you start to lose it I'm on the back side of 33 now and feeling it already. Reality sinking in that I'm probably too old and been out of the game too long to make an MMA comeback of any sort, of all my failed attempts over the past 10 years this was the closest I came to actually doing it and the best shape I've gotten into. I would still probably give it a shot if I didn't live an hour away from the nearest MMA gym, there's no way I could go train there until 9:30 and drive back home and get up at 4:30 the next morning for work. Maybe if I had a job where I get paid by the hour and could coast through the workday in the air conditioning I could do it but the way my job goes if I don't finish jobs I don't eat so it's gotta be assholes and elbows all day long, these fucking sprints are really killing me. The wear and tear builds up and makes it to where I can't work out as hard(or work as hard on the job), man 10 years ago I was a fucking savage in the gym and on the job. Its discouraging sometimes but I deal with it, once you get into the gym and get that pump it's on, the biggest hurdle is just getting in there and I've been getting good at dealing with it and working through those pains and tweeks and pulls, I had a terrible headache Thursday night but still forced myself to do a pretty killer back workout. I haven't totally given up on making an MMA comeback( but it's not going to happen like I planned, was hoping to start training at a gym this month and maybe fight sometime in mid-september but it's just not happening. Getting old is for real.

Is all of PW fucking svelte these days? Making me feel even worse for letting myself go. Think it's been maybe 18 months (+/-6) since I've done anything that would really count as determined, disciplined lifting. And yet I haven't laid off the beers in the meantime. It's really showing in my vanilla pudding snack cup of a gut.

But I am the lightest I have been since I was 21 and I had my back waxed, so I am looking pretty good for what is me at 41yo.... Which is not a high bar.. This was my home gym affectionately call the bunker last week. This is my gym this week after another ebay purchase {Spoiler} I got the extra stuff at the front for $55 on ebay including the cable machine and the pec deck

Last time I had it checked electronically, I think my body fat % had crept up to 19-20%. Weighing just shy of 200lbs, that means I'm flinging around ~20 fucking lbs. of wobbly fat!? Such a disappointment considering where I'd been. Seems like I packed on 1% of body fat per year over the past decade. Fucking lazy, complacent 🤯!!!

Actually worked out a deal last December and paid a full year in advance and was able to haggle them down, can't remember what exactly I paid but saved a lot of money in the long run.

All secondhand brother... White multi cable machine $350 Power cage: $350 Weights $120 Preacher Curl bench and bar $120 Heavy bag and frame $120 Smith machine: $120 Grey Cable machine $50 Treadmill - Dad's Tractor Tyre and Sledge Hammer I had already So total spend is $1,230 Kangaroo dollars or $908 Yankee dollars Which is cheaper than a year's gym membership... Of course I pay 25k a year to rent the office/warehouse, but I would be doing that anyway for my business. Plus me and the missus own the premises with our retirement fund, so we are paying ourselves... So it is all good (H)

I'm anti-swoll because I've been biking 80-100 miles a week this summer, so I'm lean as fuck, probably the best shape of my life. I feel like a god when I pass a spandexed road bicycle asshole on my slow as shit hybrid bike. It's the little things.
I used to ride using the Strava app, so I'd check my times, my miles, and see the progress, but this year I'm doing it completely unplugged and it's so much more fun. I know the miles because it's the same trails from my Strava days, so now instead of being obsessed with improving a couple tenths of a MPH average, I'm just enjoying the ride. I might clock myself at the end of the summer just once and see where I'm at now, but for the most part, I don't give a shit.

(Middle Aged Man in Lycra) I applaud anyone looking after themselves, but when a few middle aged blokes wander into the cafe together with their lycra sheathed shriveled plums on display as they sweat over all over the chairs while splaying their chafed legs widely like a spiders web calling out seductively to a trepidation filled fly, while any passerby can clearly denote their religion as their sweaty pork sword sticks to their shaven wobbly thighs... Yeah you can keep that

iNCY, Nah, man. I'm not shaving down, or dressed like it's the Tour de France. I don't take it that serious. I'm just getting miles in as fast as I can as early in the morning as possible to avoid that scene. I just turned 34.
