There's a lot of good stuff in WWE's women's division at the moment but one thing they are missing is a really strong character driven personality. Alexa is good on the mic but her character isn't unique enough.
When was the last truly memorable segment?

Because anything beyond 'bitches be crazy' is outside of the WWE's wheelhouse. Bi-Polar AJ, Drunken Split Personality Brie Bella, Enzo Amore infatuated Nia...all signs of mental instability. The next step is really to get some women on the writing teams - it's ridiculous that hasn't happened yet.

It is, especially when you can see first hand what sort of impact a female perspective can have on creative. Without Madison Rayne, I doubt the Allie/Maria program turns out as well as it did. A truly remarkable achievement given it didn't descend into the usual trope of a woman being bat-shit insane to create conflict.

She hasn't been officially in that role since Triple H took it a couple of years ago. Even then the impression that we've received from former writers, etc. was that she was more of an overseer rather than particularly hands on. As Pete said, what's needed is someone providing a women's perspective on the day to day writing so that we get more diverse characters than just the nineteenth incarnation of the high school mean girl, and feuds that have a bit more depth beyond "all women are secretly jealous of each other".
