Sasha Banks and Bayley have been tip toeing around the fact that they are better kayfabe rivals than friends. For more than a year they’ve gone from working together to occasionally stabbing each other in the back.

Fans are clamoring for a return to Sasha’s Boss character from NXT and for a Bayley baby face rebirth. Rumors began circulating that WWE was ready to pull the trigger on restarting the long standing rival that created one of the best Women’s Matches in NXT for WreslteMania 34.

However, now it’s being reported by Dave Meltzer and The Wrestling Observer that the Sasha Banks vs Bayley match is being pulled from the WrestleMania card. While the match was just speculation, he believes that WrestleMania’s card, which projects to have 14 matches, will be too packed for a singles match between Banks and Bayley. Instead, their budding feud is likely to be used as a part of the freshly renamed WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.

Meltzer and The Wrestling Observer is also reporting that it won’t be Sasha who turns, it will be Bayley who will receive renewed life as a heel.

According to Meltzer, Bayley’s heel turn is still planned but is taking longer to develop than originally expected. Originally, she was supposed to team with Elias against John Cena and Nikki Bella over the weekend but she was pulled from the match.

While Bayley hasn’t been officially evil, she has been uncharacteristically cold. Her rivalry with Sasha Banks has gone from professional to personal in recent weeks and WWE will likely use this platform to Bayley to officially become a villain.

WrestleMania will already break the glass ceiling for women in terms of match numbers, there will be 4 women’s matches on the card, even if the Battle Royal is on the pre-show. The matches include:

Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle vs Stephanie McMahon and Triple H
Charlotte vs Asuka
Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax
WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal (participants announced so far include Becky Lynch, Naomi, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan)

Figures they wont give them a singles match at Mania. could've stuck them on the pre-show.

but I still think Raw's match being a fatal fourway would be more interesting than watching Nia vs Alexa

Heel Bayley? i'm intrigued

Bayley and Sasha have been kept totally separate from Alexa and Nia. Makes no sense to add them to the title match.

Alexa and Nia's feud is boring to me. I have no interest in seeing Nia beat her at Mania. Sasha and Bayley is much more interesting and would make the women's title match worth watching.


Wouldn't be the first time two separate feuds are thrown together in one match. They do it all the time in tag matches.

I have never seen anyone post so much about something that was obviously never going to happen. :lol:

I know people have complained that Sasha vs Bayley has been drawn out too much but I don't think it's a bad thing that it's going to be pushed back to after Mania. I think the end result will turn out better when there's less traffic in the way. I'd rather see their matches get 15 notable minutes on PPVs like Backlash and Extreme Rules than be squeezed into the second hour of a day long show.

I’d rather it got more time to develop and they pull the trigger when the moment is hot rather than rushing it for Mania. Plus, it’ll be good to have something decent coming out of Mania.

I agree with HR and kotw, give this moment the proper time and spotlight it deserves. WWE usually rushes things, on this i'm glad they're taking their time.

15-20 mins on a later PPV > pre-show filler. I know the show's like 8 hrs, but 4 is really pushing things. Plus it could in theory make the BR memorable if something happens there, although I'm sure that will be legit filler.

I am amazed and surprised if they went with a heel Bayley since she clearly is in the wrong. But usually wrestling like the heel to make the sense. They can have the women battle royal at WM be the third trigger to push Bayley over the edge.

Although, I do struggle to see Bayley/Sasha getting onto a ppv even like Backlash since we're going back to duel-branded shows.

Not a big deal.  What my hope is, since there will be dual branded ppv events going forward, hopefully we might get some more meaningful matches on Raw and smackdown as opposed to nothing but filler to build up the ppv events like what we have gotten lately.  What show it's on doesn't really matter to me as long as it's good.
