I prob already mentioned it since I'm perpetually in syndication mode on PW, but Lionheart adding the I assume director/release next to the movie's title always gives it an air of sophistication and class to a review. Reminds me of @sungod's method of posting reviews only less pretentious.

Still waiting for the M3gan uncut release to check it out. No one really is sure right now how much was cut to turn it into a pg-13 release.

I finally saw Wakanda Forever and it was a snooze fest. It ranks right there with Ironman 2 and Thor the Dark World. Slightly better than the Eternals.
Can't believe Disney made all the mistakes they made with the last Star Wars movie again.

I also saw Wakanda Forever, fell asleep during the first attempt and battled through a second viewing.
Look, it's forgettable. The CGI is nearly as bad as the first Toby McGuire Spiderman and I felt did little to push the collective MCU story forward. And that's really my biggest gripe with the MCU post Endgame - it seems, as if they've lost the momentum with Eternals, WF and the endless amount of (lets all pretend they're great, but they're shit, Loki and Cap/WS aside) Disney+ shows.
I'm guessing the upcoming Ant Man is the Royal Rumble in a sense, and it's Wrestlemania season and all the stars are starting to align for the eventual next big " Avengers " movie.

Not that any of you will care or want to see this, but I did the typical 'chick' thing and went to watch Magic Mike's Last Dance yesterday with a few of my gf's. Other than the first and last dance scenes the rest of the movie was bore city and portrayed Selma Hayek as a typical crazy, neurotic, overly emotional female. I was unimpressed.
The best you can hope for is to send your lady and hope she comes home all horned up.

First one was good. Second one seems lesser? Maybe it was missing something without MM? Third will be seen eventually but meh.
Don't ask me to explain a in the why's. Well pretend I was intrigued by Nash.

The Whale: 10/10 gut wrenching film as to be expected by Aronofsky. Sucked we got this so late in Australia but was worth the wait. Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey This film only had a budget of $100k so it’s impressive some of the stuff they managed to pull off but I can’t lie and say it’s good. Acting is absolutely atrocious with some of the worst dialogue I’ve ever heard and the novelty of the film wears off after 15 minutes. A sequel is already in the works considering it’s already made over a $1m so more great quality to come. Ant-Man & the Wasp Quantumania
SUCKS

Knock at the Cabin: It was alright I guess, to be honest, I really wasn’t all that into the movie (not surprising given it’s an M. Night Shyamalan film). Having said that, Big Dave was good in this though, I also wish Rupert Grint got more screen time as well. 2023 Films SeenKnock at the Cabin M3GAN Missing Shotgun Wedding

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: Phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicking things off with a banger. I’m definitely intrigued in seeing where they go with the Multiverse Saga and the “Kang Dynasty” story arc. I know people have been souring on the MCU lately, which I get to a certain point, but this movie reminded me of why I love it so much. Cocaine Bear: I went and saw this last night, with the Wife as a date night, we both enjoyed it for what it was. As far as the human cast goes, as others have already said (in the Cocaine Bear thread), the little boy was the best part of the film (I mean obviously besides the bear killing people). I know I haven't seen much yet, as far as 2023 film releases go, but both of these movies (alongside M3GAN) round out my top three films of 2023 so far, although that's obviously going to change throughout the year. 2023 Films Seen{Spoiler}Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Cocaine Bear Knock at the Cabin M3GAN Missing Shotgun Wedding

Where the Crawdads Sing
I thought this was really good. I had no intention of seeing it, until the wife put it on. Daisy Edgar-Jones was very good as Kya. It's a slow-burner to some degree. Even a miserable prick like me could find some heart-warming moments in there amongst a lot of heart-ache.

Creed III
Jonathan Majors was incredible in this, even better villain than he was in Antman. Sylvester Stallone’s presence is felt and the constant sign language use seems like pandering (I know it’s in Creed 1 and 2 but it’s a lot of this) but other than that it’s a good by the numbers sports film.
I didn’t like an artistic choice with the final fight or they treat something that happens earlier as a bad thing despite Adonis doing the same thing in the past.
Empire of Light
This released in Australia with 0 advertisement. I saw it in an empty theatre and was bored to tears.
Relationship had no chemistry, was creepy and the side characters served nothing to the plot. Treated mental illness & racism in a goofy and potentially insensitive way.
One of the worst films I’ve seen in a while.

Scream VI: You’ve seen one Scream film, you’ve seen all of them. At least with Scream 5 it has been years since Scream 5 so there was a lot of new material and changes in the slasher genre to reference. With this only being a year later it doesn’t add anything new. Some fun kills, but if you like the Scream films you’ll like this but it’s not going to change any minds of non-fans.

Trims the fat with a short run time, has a simple premise. Adam Driver & Chloe Coleman have crashed landed and needed to get to the top of the mountain. BTW there is dinosaurs. - movie
Scenery is absolutely beautiful, film doesn’t explain much (so that May bother some people) with futuristic technology that looks surprisingly analogue and not a huge amount of dialogue.
Great use of less is more approach with some of the bigger dinosaurs also.

I enjoyed Creed III. I’ve enjoyed all of them so I wasn’t really surprised. I do think the movie could’ve put more into the daughters issues if it wanted me to care about that at all and while I liked Majors I feel like the hype has been a little overblown. He was good for sure.

The look of wonder and amazement in my 2 year old son's eyes when he watches Star Wars is the most amazing thing ever but I don't know how much more I can handle of the 2 fucking made-for-tv Ewok movies he is stuck on. I knew there was an Ewok movie made in the 80's because I worked at Blockbuster back in the day, so that was one of those filing shit on the shelves discoveries that was like whoa, they made this?! I never did use one of my 5 weekly free employee rentals on it though.
But I put it on with my little man for some quick Ewok action and he's gotten so stuck on these 2 movies it's starting to become a legit problem. Like he throws fits when we get home this week, "FIX IT WICKET!!!""
The first one Caravan Of Courage aired on TV in 1984 and it's really really really bad. I have watched both movies about 500 times in the last month and this one is starting to get to me. There are some scenes so bad they are amazing. It's crazy that they relied so heavily on child actors for the movie.
The sequel Battle of Endor was actually cute. It has Wilford fucking Brimley in it as an old hermit that lives in a tree with a pet animal that looks like about the most stoned out tripped out fucking Henson puppet ever. His name is Teek. The little girl in both movies is about as cute as can be, Cindel, also caught a few references to these two movies upon rewatch of The Mandalorian that I got a kick out of.
But I need to ween my son off of these movies, he is obsessed with them to where if they are on TV he won't eat his food and I have to break his concentration it's like snap out of it man. Enough Wicket.
I showed him Empire Strikes back and he was pretty mesmerized by Vader and Chewy, we have fun talking back and forth about how Chewy isn't a monster he's good. I can tell by his facial expressions that he just loves how Chewy is this big huge freaky looking motherfucker but he's not a bad guy. Also he seems really obsessed with the light saber duels, perhaps he's developed a taste for swordfighting after watching so much Highlander with his pop last September.
Also there are a few hilarious lines in the Ewok movies that will stick with me forever, "Hole toooo small, Ewok tooo big"

Bullet Train
I thought this was fun. My first question was, " is this a Guy Ritchie movie? " - no - it's a " guy who directed Deadpool 2 and John Wick movie "
Heaps of fun and nothing too serious.
The White Death rise to power would be a good prequel if they were to extend the universe.

I love the Scream franchise, so if it's like the others I'm sure I'll dig it. I think the thing I'm most intrigued about in the movie, is how they handle the whole Sidney Prescott situation. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing this with the Wife later on tonight.

Just watched Scream. Was a lot of fun for the 6th film in a franchise. City setting added stuff we do not normally get in slashers and a great throwback to everything that came before.
Believed Radio Silence got a 3rd film to end their trilogy that they will shoot before Escape from New York. Holdup is Jenna Ortega who may not be able to return since she is in red hot demand, and whether the studio will go forward without her and Sidney now.

As far as I know they still lack a writer. All we know is Carpenter producing and Radio Silence directing.
They did say it will not be a sequel or remake, but a reboot/sequel. They did not want to be involved in a straight remake since they cannot top the original. They are also trying hard to get Russell involved, but likely not as the lead, but more a cameo and production role. Same situation likely the Thing reboot will be aiming for.

Scream VI: Yeah, so the new Scream movie, it was definitely weird not having Sidney Prescott in the film, however, I do like the core four, especially Jenna Ortega who continues to kill it. As System said, if you’re a fan of the franchise, you’ll love this one as well. M3GAN has officially been knocked out of my top three movies of the year, as Scream VI takes the top spot, pushing Quantumania and Cocaine Bear to #2 and #3 respectively. 2023 Films SeenAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Cocaine Bear Knock at the Cabin M3GAN Missing Scream VI Shotgun Wedding

Without going into spoilers, you'll def want to see Scream 5, before watching Scream VI. Hell, maybe even give Scre4m a re-watch as well, although not really necessarily like Scream 5 is.
