These lists are always a bit of fun to dissect, even if they're not to be taken too seriously. My hot takes from the first 20 revealed is that Watt is a fairly nonsense inclusion having played about seven games over the past couple of years, and that Lane Johnson as the best RT in the league is too low.

The terribleness of these lists is what makes the discussion fun. I get most of these rankings , even though I still think Watt (despite injuries) belongs higher.
My biggest gripe is Jimmy G. , I understand he's the darling of the football world right now but the dude has played five games , let's give him a chance to actually overcome something here. As always , it's not what you do when you get in there but how you respond after teams get a chance to scout you. Not saying he isn't talented and couldn't be better than 90 but I think he's getting pretty overrated going into the season.
Bahktiari should be higher , he's got an argument to be the best LT in the league and he definitely isn't fourth. I get that all the Packers are going to get downgraded a bit though after a shitty season. Clinton Dix had the worst season of his career though , hoping he can bounce back.
And Jimmy Graham shouldn't be on that list.

Just so we are clear guys , Delanie Walker is better than Odell Beckham.
Pretty sure the Giants called and offered to trade ODB to Tennessee for Walker and the Titans turned em down flat.

The main problem is that there's no clear concept of what this list is supposed to be. If it's a projection for 2018 then Odell should be in the top 20, but if it's a "what have you done lately" ranking then he shouldn't be on there at all.

It's titled "Players of 2018" , so the projection is right there in the title and should be what the list is about. Personally it should be a simple concept:
You are building a team for the 2018 season , who do you want to play those games. Granted quarterbacks would skew the list but there could be a way to weight that as well. The way it is now though it's fucking broken and even the least educated fan can look at that list and know ODB is not in any way shape or form a lesser player than Delanie Walker or many of guys yet to come.
If they want to make the list like his than present it as the best players of 2017 and leave it at that. The NFL and it's players kind of come off as morons.

Obviously lots here that can be picked on, but a couple of the most egregious to me are Harrison Smith being too low when he was probably a top 3 DPOY guy last season. Lists like this will always be biased towards quarterbacks but even so Jared Goff seems ridiculously high.
