Any Given Day put out a great single right here, it's very samesy from what they have put out for the past few albums.........but I like that! I like that I know what I am getting from these guys. It's a hard hitting metalcore track with the superb vocals and it doesn't go out of the element for the sake of. I came for metalcore and I got metalcore and I am a happy camper. Nothing wowing or jawdropping but I do hope they have an album coming out, pure workout music(Look at the guns on the lead singer!). Another German act I mess with.

Blindy Since you’re a metalcore fan, have you listened to the band Currents? They are probably my favorite current metalcore act. Their last two albums are fucking top notch imo and on constant repeat. Also have been listening to The Devil Wears Prada’s Color Decay. I enjoy what those guy’s evolved into. They age like fine wine.

I've heard that name, have not checked out Currents. Might give them a listen though if they are that good.

(I meant to put this up during the weekend I swear)
Last year, I posted a bunch from this group, including some of their last album. Eskimo Electric Callboy(Or EC) just don't friggin miss. I felt there was a portion that they sort of slipped up, including their last album which was good but not great.
This cover of the iconic Cascada dance cover from the 00's is fantastic. It's funny but it doesn't lose the Callboy touch, yeah sure they go down the same well with the breakdowns and electronic beats but damnit, it works! The nods to We Got The Moves & Hypa Hypa were not missed by me, this song has been my jam the past 1-2 days. Love it.
Germany is bringing the fire man. Don't let the Till Lindemann news let you down, this country still has it man if you dig deep enough.

Just insane, can't believe this is all happening under 3 minutes. This is ex Crystal Lake's lead singer Ryo Kinoshita's side project since he left the band last year due to mental health. Hope he left on good terms because him with that band were amazing as far as Metalcore goes. This song is just insane though. Wish it was longer though, so wish it was longer. Wonder if this becomes an actual album. Speaking of Crystal Lake...they got an AMERICAN lead vocalist now??! This was a good effort, still not sure if they're as good as they were when they had Kinoshita(I have not heard all of the KNOSIS tracks) but I like that they're still making music.

This collab was inevitable given both HIRIE & Ballyhoo! toured last year, spoke enough of the former in last year's thread. Even if the last album got a bit poppy, there was still some goldust to be found on the album. I have a much longer relationship with Ballyhoo!'s music on the other hand, been listening to their music for easily over a decade so the news of a new album coming on August 25th will be an instant review in this thread in about 2 months.
This songs slaps and is a typical Ballyhoo! lowkey chill banger, I do wish both Howi Spangler(Lead singer) and HIRIE got more parts to sing in as they're both fantastic but alas this is a great 2nd single. Did not really like "Clip My Wings" even if it's a typical summer windows down beach vibe song.
Cannot wait for this album, hoping for more goodness to be had with anything Ballyhoo! Curious who else they can get involved. They did a mini side cover of The Expendables 1-2 years ago where both bands covered each other's tracks so would not be shocked if they got involved with them.

Haven't had a chance to check this out yet thanks for posting. Ballyhoo isn't really my cup of tea but the girl I went to One Love 2020 festival with was into them and dragged me to their set. It was an early morning set and they tore it up. Expendables is an awesome band Ive been able to catch a few times they always bring it, I need to do a deeper dive into their albums I never realized how long they have been around.

My 2023 music has been dominated by Surfer Girl, the album they put out last year "Sunrise" I thought was good when it came out but holy hell it has really grown on me over this year. Easily the best new band.

This thread is gonna get bumppped because July 11: New GUNSHIP single featuring good ol' Tim Cappello returning to bring DAT SAX to some synthwave baby. He was Tina Turner's personal sax machine of the 80's and also was in The Lost Boys and oh yeah as mentioned brought this absolute banger. Getting a new album out of GUNSHIP is gonna be great. July 12: New Tesseract, lets gooo....I hope this is the beginning of a new album out of these guys. Daniel Thompkins is such a good vocalist and they always have a couple of tracks that are just fantastic djent/prog rock.

Really feelin' this one, nothing that blows you out of your socks but it's just very sound Synthwave with the aforementioned nice sax rolling around midway through.

Listened to this like 2x(3 now as we speak), I feel like the 2nd half is just better than 1st half of the song. If this was broken down into like 2 tracks, I would borderline skip the 1st one(Even with the Djent groovy bass) and rock that 2nd half. I just wish there were more melodies more than anything out of this track but this is far from bad. I don't think "Altered State" is ever getting topped but again it doesn't matter the vocalist, this band will always get a check from me so I am giddy there's a new album announcement. It's been a while...
EDIT: Song does get better after more listens, really curious more about more of what is to come from this album.

So last year, Weezer released four SZNZ albums (spring, summer, etc), this year Brett Kissel (a country music artist) is doing something similar with his Compass Project. As of right now, he has only released the East and South albums, however, both projects were a joy to listen too, and I can't wait for the other two albums to come out. 2023 Albums PlayedAlana Springsteen - Twenty Something: Messing It Up Bebe Rexha - Bebe Brett Kissel - The Compass Project East Album Brett Kissel - The Compass Project South Album Brothers Osborne - Nobody’s Nobody Chase Rice - I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell Dierks Bentley - Gravel & Gold Dylan Scott - This Town's Been Too Good To Us Godsmack - Lighting Up the Sky Gord Bamford - Fire It Up Hardy - The Mockingbird & The Crow Jordan Davis - Bluebird Days Kelsea Ballerini - Rolling up the Welcome Mat Kip Moore - Damn Love Lauren Alaina - Unlocked Luke Combs - Gettin’ Old Matellica - 72 Seasons Megan Moroney - Lucky Morgan Wallen - One Thing at a Time Old Dominin - Memory Lane (Sampler) Pink - Trustfall Sam Smith - Gloria Shania Twain - Queen of Me Tyler Hubbard - Tyler Hubbard

I ended up giving Kelly Clarkson's newest album (Chemistry) a listen too, it's not bad. I get it, people get older and change, but man I miss "Since U Been Gone" era Kelly so much.

Been almost a month since I threw out some music here, couple of newer songs I stumbled upon that I feel are worth sharing: Such a smooooth track, already jogged in the night over this track so this is just the perfect track for a late night thoughtless travel. Nina is just so good, maybe my favorite female vocalist of the Synthwave genre honestly. She has done so many good tracks, such an easy listen. This is yet another one she is apart of. Not as familiar with Ricky Wilde but he does very good to compliment her in this track no doubt. Seems like this collab will be producing an album, will be all over that. EDIT: Oh he's the younger brother of Kim Wilde, I didn't know that. Any time Aussie Synthwave beast Max Cruise and The Motion Epic collab on something, it's going to be magical. Their cover of Highway to the Danger Zone is so friggin' good and Runnin' Out of Time I continue to comeback to as a track every now and then. This track is no different, you got everything you'd expect from this collab. 80's throwback vocals to compliment 80's synth and of course the epic sax about midway. Max Cruise got a new album coming in a few weeks, lets go. Heatwave indeed. Scandroid is fantastic with the synthwave he produces and Celldweller which I know best for being apart of the Dead Rising 2 OST with some killer tracks makes for a very short but very good 2 minute track. I really wish the track was longer, this feels more like a demo more than anything else. Lone real negative I can think of. I really am looking forward to this upcoming GUNSHIP album coming later this year. This 2nd track is just such an uptempo killer, typical of what these guys do but man it's just nevertheless great stuff man. Such a dope video too, feels like Jet Set Radio's cel shaded vibes mixed with Blade Runner or something.

Are any of the country bros here Lony UT mikec getting swept up in the Zach Bryan hype? I found out about him because of his song with Kacey Musgraves and now see he's being heralded as a savour of "real country". I'm not embedded enough in the scene to really care about that sort of stuff but I do think this is good music!

My wife is a fan. I’ve listened some and he’s okay but I feel like there have been plenty of folks doing better that just haven’t caught on the same way.
But if somethings going to be popular, could be a lot worse.

One other thought about Zach Bryan was that I’ve also completely missed just how wildly popular he has become until recently. He played a festival my wife and I frequently attend which sold out his day to the disappointment of my wife. I then try to get tickets to an arena show in KC and the secondary markets have them at 400-500 apiece. I don’t know how I completely missed this guy becoming the type of guy people are dropping that much on, but good for him.

They said the same thing about Stapleton who I’m also lukewarm on at best. They are fine and a nice change of style but I hate the idea of “real country” anyways. People try to gatekeep the genre and act like there wasn’t always a portion of country songs that delved into pop.

Don’t try that in UT’s small town. Funny about the gate keeping because it’s coming for him from the other direction too. He announced some stadium gigs with Jason Isbell and Turnpike Troubadours which has left both fanbases angry their longer-tenured acts are opening for him.

There is a no new country rule on my jobsite, will not allow it, terrible vibe killer from terrible music really just spouting dread into the air whenever it plays. However there is one new guy and one newer era album I do really like and that's Jon Pardi California Sunrise, legitimately great album from start to finish.

Going to be bumping the new Stephen Marley album on the way home I had no idea this came out last month. I read an article today noting how few copies were sold, in the low hundreds as in triple digits. That’s crazy. Also read that Kabaka Pyramid album that won reggae Grammy last year was one of the lowest selling albums to ever win a Grammy of any kind, that’s a shame it was legit brilliant album.
New Stephen Marley has guest appearances by Slightly Stoopid, his brother Damian and a duet of I Shot the Sheriff with Clapton, should be good.
And i think I’ve traced my love of reggae back to Marked For Death. My attraction to this music is strange and been trying to understand it, definitely started with being 5 in the movie theater hearing Stepping Razor and No Justice in the movie like that, loud in surround sound at that age the subconscious seeds were planted for a fucking white Texas Rasta man. I never made the connection until revisiting the film recently and finding the soundtrack. Everything makes sense now

New Elovaters album also dropped but I’m not crazy about it, maybe it will grow on me
