It's funny how 100+ episodes is seen as barely getting started though. Honestly that Sanji introduction was a struggle to get through.
I'm "mostly" caught up. I catch up on dozens of episodes 1-2x a year, so I'm generally ~100 episodes behind at any given time.

Starting a show with 1017 episodes just seems so overwhelming, like one wouldn't have time to dedicate to any other anime if they Started One Piece from the beginning.

During Covid lockdown probably would have been a good time. And with the later episodes you can shave off 6 minutes with the OP and summary of what's going on.

It's a tough sell to get into it now or to be willing to just jump in the pool this late into the game. Obviously quality remains somewhat stable whereas I eventually dropped both Bleach/Naruto... OP remains consistent.

But Luffy has fought one person longer the Goku fought Freeza which on one site says it was 19 episodes. And Luffy is both in the number one and three spot on the list so I would guess most people known the number three spot. So they may could have trim that down you know if One piece ever ends.

Interesting Urusei Yatsura getting a remake or whatever next season. I remember an old anime thread user who would probably check it out. I got through like a season, but I wasn't in love with it like I was other work from that lady (Ranma and Inuyasha) but I may consider a revisit if I enjoy this run enough. Japan just do it, gimme all that early 2000s anime fan nostalgia.
Mao is her latest, eh? Fuck it why not.

I'm a bit behind as I said in a previous post I was watching the last season of mha. I'm mostly sticking to familiar stuff (new seasons, brand loyalty) and not watching a lot of "new" stuff these days. Like sometimes I think like wrestling I got into anime at just the right edgy angsty time that it just doesn't do it for me like it used to. Unlike wrestling I wasn't obsessive for it beyond it's own "attitude era". Around this time I started watching more us tv and streaming made it easier that it's harder to squeeze time for anime like I used to. As stuff I've been following fully ends (nanatsu recently and soon to be AOT) I'm not sure what will keep me invested beyond One Piece which is just grandfathered in at this point. With Berserk guy dead it is worrying that he may never finish the greatest work of fiction ever.
Might get to a point where that's the only anime I watch. You can't go this far and turn back now. Course it's also possible it might be me who dies before the end. What a waste.

Nothing jumps out at me yet. And I think the last One Piece batch I watched were covid episodes because I can see them cutting corners on those episodes. And I believe I was current at the time of lockdown.

Never thought Panty and Stocking would ever get a Season 2 but here we are and I'm here for it. It ended in a cliffhanger and needed a resolution. Hope it's as fouled mouth as ever.

Kazuki Takahashi creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! basically, passes away. This is depressing. Apparently drowned. Still collect cards till this day and play Yu-Gi-Oh! video games. He left a great impact on me and will be missed.
