So if we do this again do we just swap Mahomes and Watson?

Right. I am interested to see what happens with Mahomes when the natural regression comes and teams start to actually be able to scout for him. That's the real test for any young quarterback.
Obviously Watson isn't handling it as well , but when the quarterback gets over that hump I think the real guy come out. Mahomes would definitely be skyrocketed up the list as of this point though - he looks great.

Watson made a ridiculous mental error yesterday when he threw the ball to Hopkins in the middle of the field and let time expire. I would still take Watson over Mahomes, though. Watson is a proven winner. Mahomes is off to a hot start, but he’s going to have those 3 interception games, too. To be honest, they have the perfect offense surrounding him. Hill, Kelce, Hunt and Watkins. Great and different offensive players to throw the ball to. Watson has Hopkins and Fuller and a shitty HC.

And the Texans offensive line is right there with the Giants as probably the worst in the NFL. Watson holds onto the ball forever on some plays but that's also because they have to keep extra blockers in and he has limited receivers even running routes. He is surrounded by a bunch of shit right now. Mahomes deserves credit for doing what he's done and even doing it on the road , but regression is coming (he averaged a TD every 4.5 passes) and some teams are going to get the jump on him. He's also got a bad offensive line but he's got a much better coach setting him up for success as well. I think games 8-16 are more telling of what Mahomes could be then what we're going to see 1-8.

Carson Palmer is the most overrated QB in the last decade for the person who asked is there a more overrated QB in recent memory.
ID take Rivers over Palmer any day of the week.

I’d take Mahomes over Watson because Mahomes has as many NFL wins as Watson in half the games (Just kidding, because I don’t think QB wins are really a thing. I just never have liked what I’ve seen in Watson.)
I know Mahomes will have regression, but regressing from NFL history best ten TD’s in first two games of a season is a good place to fall backwards from. I was more making a joke because I think it’d be more like Mahomes 15, Watson 16 before it’s be Mahomes 9, Watson 24.

I didn't put Mahomes on my list because of my sample size rule, so that has skewed things. As we've already talked about it's difficult to weigh up track record with potential/ceiling. UT and I will be doing these various rankings throughout the season, so we will likely revisit the QBs at some stage and perhaps do a list of 2018 performance.

I thought Watson played pretty good yesterday for somebody so inexperienced coming off of knee surgery playing with a garbage offensive line and the horseshit O'Brien was calling, I really didn't care about that last play the chances of them getting into field goal range and stopping the clock was pretty slim the game was already over after Bill O'Brien called those back to back wide receiver screens and then punted in field goal range on the drive before that. And then the defense can't do shit against Blaine Gabbert and a third string offensive line, stick a fucking fork in them, they're done. Those back to back bullshit receiver screens were like the back to back run behind the guard plays that he called in the Seattle game last year, this was my reaction after the second receiver screen in a row. That was what killed the game for us, not Watson, he played damn well all things considered, that interception that he threw all I could think about was damn, Andre would have totally went up and got that. As great as Hopkins is he's certainly no Andre Johnson.

Texans have bigger problems than Watson. Offensive line, impotent pass rush, offensive scheming, and more. Watson is a good player. He will settle somewhere in the middle of his 7 games last year and his underwhelming displays this year. That's fine by me.
Mahomes is also a really good player. Looking forward to enjoying both men only their trade for many years to come.

Tyrol isn’t lighting the world on fire either but I did chuckle watching Bradford throw 3 yard check downs on a number of third and longs.
Rosen needs to be in there. He’s already better.

It’s a shame, too because DJ and Larry Fitz are both superstars and they’re not being given a chance out there.

Well there goes any calls for Rodgers the rest of the year.
Interesting to note that the call on Matthews wasn't the recently implemented "Rodgers Rule" , so the irony is dead there. The call on the field was from a rule in place for a few years now.
