I don't know why Dabo Swiney doesn't pique any interest in the pros. I doubt he'd leave Clemson granted but still. He dismantled two undefeated teams back to back times. Not the first title run by him either.

Don't think it would have mattered much who was in there for Bama with Lawrence playing like this.

This brings me great joy to see Saban and Alabama get humbled like this.

Not the first title run by him either. At 49 he's got plenty of time to challenge Saban's six national championships, and he's set up absolutely beautifully with Lawrence and Ross for at least two more years.

Quick prediction.
Do you think we'll see these two face off again next year, in the final game of college football's 150th anniversary season?

Lawrence is absolutely unbelievable. He might end up surpassing Andrew Luck as the most highly-regarded prospect coming out of college when all is said and done. Size, speed, arm strength, intelligence ... absolutely unbelievable.
Plus, his ascent gave my Mizzou Tigers the castaway grad transfer, Kelly Bryant.

Jalen Hurts is transferring to Oklahoma - Hurts vs Tua in the playoffs next year seems like the logical conclusion to this saga.

Latest piece in the puzzle of the Clemson dynasty puzzle - DJ Uiagalelei has committed to the Tigers. I have a feeling Mayfield & Murray won't be the only consecutive college starters to get picked #1 in the near future.

Watched a really enjoyable Washington v Oregon game today. Both Herbert and Eason passed my (admittedly small sample size) eye test. Hebert missed quite a few throws high during the game but did enough to lead his team to a comeback victory, albeit with a lot of the credit going to the offensive line wearing down the Huskies defence and really getting the run game going in the second half. Eason was great from wire to wire and may well have led a GW drive of his own had the refs thrown a flag for what looked like PI on the final 4th down.
Midweek games start soon so I’ll get this thread going again!

Wisconsin was upset by a 2-4 Illinois team yesterday. FOX ain't gonna be happy about that. Their big match next week was suppose to be Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. But now that's screwed up because of the loss.

I didn't know Illinois has become respectable enough to give Wisconsin a game let alone win it. Good for them.

It is still surreal for me to see LSU have a high powered offense. Coach O has done something Les Miles failed to do and admit their offensive scheme wasn't working and brought in someone different to change things. Joe Brady has instilled an up tempo pass first offense behind the arm of Joe Burrow and it is paying dividends. LSU's passing offense ranks number 2 in the nation. Did I mention how love I love Joe Burrow? I've never seen someone transform the way he has from last season to this one. He is going to put up the best QB numbers in LSU history. His accuracy and touch this year is off the charts and it helps that he has some big playmakers in Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall. He is definitely in the running for the Heisman and if he continues his tear, he will be a top pick in the draft.
I cannot wait for November 9th against Bama. Geaux Tigers!

Huge upset looming. Oklahoma is trailing K-State by 18 points with five and a half left in the 3rd.

Went to the game Saturday and while it wasn’t pretty, LSU got the job done. I was worried this would be a trap game because everyone was looking ahead to the Alabama game and for the first 3 quarters it looked that way. Auburn’s front seven posed a lot of issues for the offense and held them from scoring at various points in the game. LSU’s defense was able to rattle Nix for a majority of the game and made him look like the true freshman he is. Burrow continued to put up numbers to keep him as the Heisman favorite.
Two weeks to prepare for Bama. I’m scared they will lay an egg like last year but this year’s team feels so different.

Big, BIG one on Saturday. #1 vs. #2. LSU vs. Alabama. I'm surprised it isn't being moved to primetime.

It's actually #2 vs #3 now.
Western Michigan dominated the first half and really exposed Ball State's defence lack of speed. Hard to see too much changing in the second honestly, WMU have a bit too much athleticism.

OSU is number one.
Ball State turned it into a real slugfest in the second half and that neutralised the speed advantage that WMU showed. They rushed for over 200 yards in the second half and took the lead a couple of times but they couldn't stop Western Michigan's RB Levante Bellamy who had a ridiculous game with over 150 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the FBS in rushing TDs now and looks like the type of back that would be worth a late round flyer for an NFL team.

Today is officially the 150th anniversary of college football so you should join me watching the Battle of the Bricks - I bet all my PW bucks that this will be a really fun game. Not quite a classic but close all night, Ohio really shot themselves in the foot with a combination of bad fumbles (particularly on the goal line on the opening drive) and poor game management (punting twice inside the +40 in the first half and poor use of timeouts) that allowed Miami to stick around until they could get their offence going. A 52 yard FG gave the Redhawks the lead, and their defence finally managed to wrap up the OU quarterback who had been making miraculous escapes all night and close it out to essentially win the MAC East.
