For WWF, I'm leaning early toward...
WWF Title: Diesel (c) vs. Bret Hart -- Survivor Series '95
IC Title: Jeff Jarrett (c) (w/ The Roadie) vs. Shawn Michaels -- IYH #2
Hakushi vs. The 1-2-3 Kid -- SummerSlam '95
Women's Title: Bull Nakano (c) vs. Alundra Blayze -- RAW in April
Maybe an Owen/Yoko vs. Allied Powers tag match?

OK, so this card kind of sucks. Don't blame me. 1995 WWF is much harder to work with than I could ever have imagined. Almost all the good matches were the result of two men- Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels. That doesn't leave much wiggle room. Throw in the fact that WWF didn't yet have 12 pay per views a year, Raw was still half filled with squash matches, and a lot of good wrestlers didn't stick around for long, and you have a recipe for disaster. So without further ado here is a show (or shows) I would probably have to take a pass on.
In Your House: It Sucks
10. Bret Hart vs. Diesel (Survivor Series 11/19- WWF Championship Match) Not my favorite match of the year (though it's close) and not even my favorite Bret match of the year, but it was a good, memorable match and it works best on this card.
9. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon (Summerslam 8/27- IC Title Ladder Match) An excellent sequel to the award winning original.
8. Undertaker vs. King Kong Bundy (Wrestlemania 4/2) Because it's shorter and therefore less painful than Taker's matches with IRS & Kama. Man, 'Taker had a rubbish 1995 even if I was still a fan.
7. Owen Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith (Raw 6/5) Not as memorable as their 1997 match for the European Title. In fact, I don't remember this KOTR Qualifier at all. But it's still Owen vs. Bulldog so it has to be good, right...RIGHT?
6. Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Henry O. Godwinn (In Your House 12/17- Hog Pen Match) I liked this. They worked hard and the gimmick worked for young me. This is also the first match where I distinctly remember finisher teases. Yes, a Hog Pen Match helped me to better understand wrestling psychology.
5. Goldust vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (Survivor Series 11/19) It was shorter and therefore less painful than Goldust's matches with Marty & Savio. Man, Goldust was rubbish in the ring even if he did rule as a character.
4. Yokozuna vs. Mabel (In Your House 10/22) COLOSSAL JOSTLE~! 1209 POUNDS! HEAVIEST MATCH EVAR! Plus they left even bigger heels than they came in. This might be crap but bah gawd it's Baker Approved crap.
3. Alundra Blayze vs. Bull Nakano (Raw 4/3) I honestly ignored the women's division back then. 1995 WWF was no WOW. But I'm sure this was fine and it's not like the world needs a Bob Holly match on this wretched show.
2. Barry Horowitz vs. Skip (Action Zone 7/9) HOROWITZ WINS! HOROWITZ WINS! HOROWITZ WINS! Highlight of this show's first two hours right here.
1. 1-2-3 Kid vs. Hakushi (Summerslam 8/27) Cruiserweight action comes to WWF. Too bad it didn't take.
Superstars Pre-Show: "At Least It's Free"
Smokin' Gunns vs. PG 13 (Raw 10/16- WWF Tag Title Match) Things have gotten so bad we're resorting to bringing in trashy midgets from dying territories to fill out our card.
Ahmed Johnson vs. Buddy Landell (In Your House December 17) Speaking of trashy individuals from dying dead territories.... Ahmed gets a featured squash since he'll be heavily pushed going forward.
Dean Douglas vs. Tony Williams (Superstars 12/9)
Typical squash action for The Dean against Brian Christopher's midget friend (see what I mean?) but the real beauty occurs when Mr. Bob Backlund bestows THE DEAN with "The Board of Education~!" Naturally Mr. Williams gets a paddlin' as I weep for what could have been. Honor Society 4 Lyfe.
Sid vs. Marty Jannetty (Raw 12/4) Wanted to get both guys on the card. Apparently Jannetty won this. By DQ, but still. Maybe 1995 WWF did suck after all???
Jeff Jarrett vs. Savio Vega (Raw 6/26- IC Title Match) Another get everybody on the show match.
Jean Pierre Lafitte vs. Adam Bomb (Action Zone 6/11) Come on, you couldn't possibly think I would leave JPL off this show, did you? Plus this was an actual good match. A rarity for these shows.
Waylon Mercy vs. Doink (Raw 8/14) Kill the clown, indeed.
*Somebody top this. Somebody please top this....

Can WCW in 1995 be done? I'm going to try.
Hulk Hogan vs. Big Van Vader (Uncensored) Strap match, probably the best of their disappointing series.
Sting vs. Ric Flair (World War 3) They've certainly had better, but one of the better singles matches either had that year.
Randy Savage vs. Arn Anderson (Saturday Night: 1/9/95) I had a lot Arn matches I could have included (Flair, Wright, Badd), but this is by far the best match Motch had, so this is it.
The Giant vs. Scott Norton (Nitro:12/4/95) A nice squash match to get Giant further over.
Flyin' Brian Pillman vs. "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright (Great American Bash) Pillman did the impossible and had two 4 star matches against Wright and Johnny B. Badd in 1995. I think I liked the Badd match better, but for structural reasons, I'm picking the Wright match.
Johnny B. Badd vs. Diamond Dallas Page (World War 3) I wanted to get DDP on the card, and this is the only match really worthy. Probably the best match of this feud.
Harlem Heat vs. The Nasty Boys (Uncensored) Falls Count Anywhere match that in 2017, is probably unwatchable, but in 1995 was a fun novelty match. "They're fighting in the concession stand!"
Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit (Nitro: 10/16/1995) The mission statement that kicked off the modern workrate divisions of WCW.
Sabu vs. Mr. JL (Nitro: 10/9/95) Sabu had like four matches in WCW, you bet your ass I'm including one of them. Once again, in 1995 terms this was pretty wild.

Sabu had like four matches in WCW, you bet your ass I'm including one of them. Once again, in 1995 terms this was pretty wild. You're a better man than I. Thought about doing this. Gave up on it in under a minute  Part of it is because I haven't seen much pre-September 1995. But that's only because I found 1995 WCW unwatchable until September. I may still give it a try.....one day. Hot Take: Eddie/Benoit definitely makes it. JBB/DDP and Heat/Nastys are likely holdovers because they were names and I doubt they did anything better. The Arn/Wright "fake punch--->DDT" match likely makes it (never saw or even heard about the Pillman/Wright match you included). Damn. You just reminded me of Pillman/JBB. That probably makes it over JBB/DDP for me. And maybe Flair/Arn over Arn/Wright? I'd have to think about/research Flair, Sting, Hogan, Vader, Giant & Savage some more. And what about Lex? The Mr. Wonderful/Disco 10 second squash from Worldwide likely makes it. I mean, yeah, it's a 10 second squash, but this is also 1995 WCW we're talking about, and that 10 second squash was glorious. Shit. Now I have to tackle this tomorrow for sure.

Can't believe it took me this long to get to....
1995 ECW: Oh My God!
1. 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Hector Guerrero (Return of the Funker 2/25) Scorp showcase to get him on the card.
2. Chris Benoit vs. Al Snow (Double Tables 2/4) This pure wrestling clinic served as a precursor of sorts to the famous Malenko/Guerrero series. Double Tables was The Chris Benoit Show.
3. Axl Rotten vs. Ian Rotten (Hardcore Heaven 7/1- Taipei Death Match) This seems to be the most famous match of PWI's (bad) choice for 1995 Feud of the Year.
4. Rey Mysterio vs. Psicosis (Gangstas Paradise 9/16) Went with the original over N2R or that other one because this is more important what with being the match that brought Lucha style to the US.
5. Bill Alfonso vs. Tod Gordon featuring Taz (November To Remember 11/18) Fonzie/Gordon was a hot feud, and this was good sports entertainment, but the main reason it's on the card is because this is where the Taz we all know and love was born. That's Important. ECW would never again be the same.
6. Sabu vs. Hack Myers (November To Remember 11/18) Sabu's return from an 8 month absence is a taste of things to come as he would spend much of the next year elevating midcarders as a gatekeeper/measuring stick type lower ranked guys (Stevie, Mikey, Van Dam & Louie) had to prove themselves against.
7. Gangstas vs. Public Enemy (Heatwave 7/15- Cage Match) Same deal as the Rottens. This seems to be the most famous of their many matches.
8. Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko (Hostile City Showdown 4/15- TV Title Match) Here you have a choice between their first match: the mission statement or their last match: the fond farewell. I chose the mission statement.
9. Terry Funk & Sandman vs. Shane Douglas & Cactus Jack (ECW Arena 3/18) (Re)Discovering the existence of this was a godsend. Now I could do the most famous Mikey/Austin encounter and didn't have to choose between Simmons, Marty & Tully for a Shane opponent. Plus I still get some of that sweet Cactus vs. Funk (and bonus Cactus/Sandman!) action.
10. Mikey Whipwreck vs. "Superstar" Steve Austin (November To Remember 11/18- ECW Championship Match) Mikey beat Austin. Never forget.
11. Pitbulls w/ Tommy Dreamer & 911 vs. Raven & Stevie Richards (Gangstas Paradise- ECW Tag Title Double Dog Match) A Heyman masterpiece and the most "ECW" match of 1995 ECW as brilliant sports entertainment meets hardcore. Plus we get our absolutely necessary 911 & Dreamer inclusions here in ECW's feel good match of the year.
*Another killer show. For whatever reason, these ECW SuperCards come to me the easiest.
*I was toying around with 2001 & 2002 WWF in my head today while bored at work and those also came surprisingly easy so I may continue this into the 21st Century once I finish up my beloved 90s wrestling.

WCW 1995- Clash of the Champions: They Said It Couldn't Be DoneThis card is surprisingly not terrible.
1. Nasty Boys vs. Harlem Heat (Uncensored 3/19- Falls Count Anywhere Match) Actually haven't seen/don't remember this but I'm sure I would have dug it at the time in spite of disliking both teams.
2. Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero (Nitro 10/16) The most famous match of their 1995 (mostly B Show) forever feud. New style wrestling has arrived, baby!
3. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs. Disco Inferno (Worldwide 12/16) A 10 second squash that perfectly captures both characters. THIS is pro wrestling. Plus I had to get them on the show since these are two of the guys who brought me back to WCW after 14 months of barely watching. I'm serious! Fun Fact: This match aired 5 days after the Horsemen ended Mr. Wonderful's career with a spiked piledriver. To say I was confused would be an understatement.
4. Johnny B. Badd vs. Brian Pillman (Fall Brawl 9/17) I don't think I've seen this since it originally aired and I was barely paying attention then as these were most certainly not two of my guys, but it's pretty famous and therefore an easy choice for this show.
5. Arn Anderson vs. Alex Wright (Slamboree 5/21- TV Title Match) Or whatever Arn/Wright match had this finish
6. Giant vs. Scott Norton (Nitro 12/4) Don't remember this but I'll take Kilgore's word for it. Plus it's not like I'm ever going to pass up a Giant vs. Norton match.
7. Sting vs. Meng (Great American Bash 6/18- US Title Match) I originally had Sting/Malenko & Luger/Meng but switched it around because this was more important than a pair of throwaway Nitro matches.
*Blue Bloods Video (Saturday Night 4/8) Blue Bloods were easily the best thing WCW did during that bleak July 94-September 95 period. Had to get them on the show. Was originally going with a Bluebloods/Nastys/Heat Triangle Match but that apparently sucked and didn't even have the "cool in 1995" vibe that Nastys/Heat from Uncensored supposedly did.
8. Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage (Great American Bash 6/18) Seems to be the consensus best match of their lengthy 1995 feud.
*Lex Luger debuts on Nitro (9/4) This was kind of a big deal.
9. Hulk Hogan vs. Vader (Bash At The Beach 7/16- WCW Championship Steel Cage Match) Hogan escaping the cage is a better finish than their other two ppv matches and I prefer to end supercards with a big babyface win.
*Not terrible by 1995 WCW standards even if I did have to resort to two segments and a squash
Let's try an alternate take....
1. Nasty Boys vs. Harlem Heat (Uncensored 3/19- Falls Count Anywhere Match) 2. Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero (Nitro 10/16) 3. Sabu vs. Mr. JL (Halloween Havoc 10/29) 4. Mr. Wonderful vs. Disco Inferno (Worldwide 12/16) 5. Johnny B. Badd vs. Diamond Dallas Page (Halloween Havoc 10/29) *Blue Bloods Video (Saturday Night 4/8) 6. The Giant vs. Scott Norton (Nitro 12/4) 7. Randy Savage vs. Lex Luger (Halloween Havoc 10/29) 8. Arn Anderson & Brian Pillman vs Ric Flair & Sting (Halloween Havoc 10/29) 9. Hulk Hogan vs. Vader (Bash At The Beach 7/16- WCW Championship Steel Cage Match)
Added Sabu/JL to fill the card/appease Kilgore . Chose Badd/Page from Havoc over WW3 because it's 3 minutes shorter and 3 minutes less of JBB & DDP pleases 1995 me. The Horsemen tag is Important. Went with Savage/Lex Havoc over WW3 because the babyface (Savage) wins and I remember WW3 sucking. At least Havoc (which I've never seen) has a chance of sucking less.
*I think it's about a push between this and my last card. Gun to my head I'd choose the first option. Maybe I'll make one more go at it later with Arn vs. Flair this time around.

Eureka! OK, so my original 1995 WWF card sucked. I was very open about this. It was easily the worst of the 20(!) SuperCard MashUps I've tackled. But I've finally had a breakthrough. The key was switching the top two matches from my last card. Bret/Bulldog is a tiny bit better than Bret/Diesel anyway and losing a 1/4* from HBK/Razor to HBK/JJ is totally worth if it means I now get to use the Holy Trinity of Double J, The Dean and Mr. Backlund. Solid card incoming.
1995 WWF In Your House: Glory Days
1. 1-2-3 Kid vs. Hakushi (Summerslam 8/27) 2. Barry Horowitz vs. Skip (Action Zone 7/9) 3. Goldust vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (Survivor Series 11/19) 4. Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Henry O. Godwinn (In Your House 12/17- Hog Pen Match) 5. Dean Douglas w/ Mr. Backlund vs. Razor Ramon (In Your House 9/24) Went with this over their other two matches because my man The Dean wins and I get Mr. Backlund on the card and it furthers the Razor/Kid story, which was one of the best in wrestling during this period. It's a win-win-win situation. 6. Owen Hart & Yokozuna vs. Smoking Gunns (Wrestlemania 4/2- Tag Title Match) Good segment here with Yoko returning from a four month absence as Owen's mystery partner. Loved Owen's kayfabe reason for picking Yoko- "Because he beat Bret for the belt!" 7. Undertaker vs. Mabel (In Your House 12/17- Casket Match) We're still a long way from a classic but at least this is a better match and feud than Taker/Bundy. 8. Shawn Michaels vs. Jeff Jarrett (In Your House 7/23- IC Title Match) Excellent traditional face vs. heel action with above average athleticism and a hot crowd. A bit Flair vs. Steamboat-ish even. Plus DOUBLE J~! 9. Diesel vs. Sid (In Your House 7/23- WWF Championship Match) Alright, so this show isn't perfect. But Sid was kind of a big deal so it's better to have him on the show than off it as he was last time. 10. Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog (In Your House 12/17- WWF Championship Match) My Match of the Year. I'd actually take this over their Summerslam '92 classic at this point. This one has the technique of Summerslam '92 with added blooded and a better backstory.
Pre-Show Superstars *This has improved too.
Jean Pierre Lafitte vs. Adam Bomb (Action Zone 6/11) Savio Vega vs. Waylon Mercy (In Your House 9/24) Ahmed Johnson vs. Buddy Landell (In Your House 12/17) Alundra Blayze vs. Bull Nakano (Raw 4/3- Women's Championship Match)
*Ignore those doubts I expressed earlier. 1995 WWF still rules. This show is proof.

I thought that Bret/Bulldog II might've been the key to success! It's too bad we can't draw matches from your Rebooking the New Generation fan fiction from the old board. I was considering taking a fully fleshed-out stab at 1995 WWF, but I'm not sure I need to know between your efforts. One question though... Is the RAW Bowl worth working onto a card? We'd have to find something else for Big Daddy Cool to do, but I'm sure he had some passable squash match at some point in 1995.

Oh wait....that was my fanfic. Never mind." This happened! I wouldn't bother with the Raw Bowl. For starters, I consider it 1996 since it aired 1/1/96. Plus it's not that good. It really only has novelty value. Although that novelty value is admittedly high to this 95-96 WWF fanatic. BUT it also swallows up a ton of guys- Sid & The Kid, Razor, Owen & Yoko, even the Gunns & Savio.....all those guys can be put to better use elsewhere.

I didn't know if the novelty of it would make up for its lacking quality. I figured Owen and Yoko would likely end up in a tag match of some sort anyway, and if we're going with my preferred route of Bret/Bulldog II and Shawn/Double J, that does kinda leave Razor hanging (unless you're a big Dean fan... :suspic: ) ...AAANNNDD it gets the shortest-lived most-underrated tag team of all time in Sid & The Kid on the card! Then you could just have tweener Diesel squashing Rad Radford on the 12/9 Superstars and then blowing off McMahon's attempt to get a post-match interview. Not sure what you do with Dean with these tweaks though... maybe just feature him heavily throughout the night, letting him grade every match and segment?
