Scratching my head at the hires in New York and Arizona, though I was already scratching my head at Arizona even looking for a new coach this year.
Outside of Peyton’s great years in Denver has Gase ever been impressive as a coach? I don’t recall the year in Chicago as a well-received year. Seems weird to just immediately give him the keys to another head coach job after he was fired after three years from a different team.
And though I’m obviously fine with the Air Raid college style coming to the NFL, the Chiefs have been at the forefront of stealing shit from college teams for a few years now, but hiring a guy with a losing record in college to run your NFL team seems like an overreaction.

And though I’m obviously fine with the Air Raid college style coming to the NFL, the Chiefs have been at the forefront of stealing shit from college teams for a few years now, but hiring a guy with a losing record in college to run your NFL team seems like an overreaction. You don't think instilling an offense catered to the strengths of Tim Tebow on the run(Literately) during their divisional round run(Including seeing Tebow triumph vs LeBeau's defense) isn't more impressive than what he did with Peyton Manning? Him and Mike McCoy deserve ALOT of credit for how they didn't force Tebow to make throws that they knew he could not do and went as far as back into college tape to find plays catered to the strengths of their QB even if he was a woeful thrower. Most offensive minds nowadays tell a QB you either do what is told or sit on the bench and someone else I can find will do so. I disagree immensely with that. That's why I can't take away Gase's prowess with QBs, that's the one thing he has going for him. He also took the Miami Dolphins year 1 to the wildcard round post Bullygate and with a mediocre QB in Ryan Tannehill who got hurt that year(shocker!) and took a journeyman like Matt Moore to the playoffs and got the best year out of Jay Ajayi. That's as good of a job as both the Snow White and Cinderella of the NFL today did in Matt Nagy and Sean McVay did year 1, wildcard round and McVay didn't lose his QB during the year his rookie campaign too. And keep in mind the face of the Dolphins defense that year, Cam Wake isn't Aaron Donald or Khalil Mack. Don't get me wrong, I am not excited about Adam Gase either but lets be fair now. I don't know what more you could have asked from the guy these two instances.

I don’t think taking that Dolphins team to the playoffs was that impressive, no. Teams randomly make the playoffs all the time. Could’ve been schedule generated, could have been a few lucky things going the right way or wrong way for somebody else. Too many variables for me to give a coach a lot of credit for getting to playoffs once in three years. Nagy has plenty more to prove and McVay followed up his first season with a pretty great season two as well.
And Tebow’s skills were so limited I don’t think he would’ve had many options, but sure that one year was fine. Not as impressive as the Manning machine in Denver, but fine. You’re really digging to make the “most coaches...” argument since the Broncos wanted to bury Tebow on the bench that season and couldn’t because of the Denver fans.

I think taking a team into the playoffs year 1 is impressive anyway you slice it regardless of situational evidence. Did they go far? No but Joe Schmo doesn't go over and takes that team fresh off what Philbin could not do and turn it all around. Gase went as far into the playoffs as Arians did with the Cardinals but Arians has more years as a QB/OC type of guy to earn praise while Gase does not. Year 2 between Tannehill going down and the Dolphins getting jipped Week 1 by losing their BYE along with Tampa Bay due to the hurricane scare had played a role into what happened to them but they did have a down year in 2018 after Tannebaum mishandled the cap and had to drop Suh, Landry, Grimes among others when some mock drafts had them getting the first overall pick going into the 2019 NFL Draft but instead of finishing 2nd in the division(Albeit AFC East sucked this year) and Gase lost some key guys to season ending injuries and they lacked the talent(That he helped build) on multiple sides of the ball from the OLine to the defensive side to muster up anything.
I don't doubt they wanted to get rid of Tebow hence why they sucked the Jets into giving up a 4th for him right after. I'm saying on the fly after Kyle Orton went down that the Broncos were able enough to manifest something out of Tebow rather than let the season go by the wayside. That is deserving of credit for both McCoy and Gase to make something out of nothing with Tebow.

Eh I have no problem with the guy so I’m not going to argue with someone so pressed to put the guy over, but to me it’s a pretty curious decision to give a guy with his resume that quick a job.

Not too much else to hire. Bienemy? I am indifferent about Gase but I do think he's quality for a QB. Just the other 51 guys matter too which is where I don't know about.
He is set to hire Gregg Williams as DC. Even though he runs a 4-3 and may phase out players like Henry Anderson and Darron Lee, I like his fire and it's about time players got put on notice after the nonsense Bowles allowed.

Arizona Cardinals:
HC: Kyle Kingsbury OC: Steve Sarkisian DC: Vance Joseph
My goodness. When was the last time a team had back to back No.1 picks in consecutive NFL Drafts?
Yeah! That offensive coordinator hire just inspires you. Julio Jones didn't score a TD until what? November? What a super hire right there. Red Zone extraordinaire. Maybe Steve Keim needing a guy to ride shotgun down the drives through Phoenix.

Sarkisian at least won some in Washington, Schotty was crap not only on the pro level but also with both Florida and Georgia. Just amazing what kind of accomplishment it takes to do that.
Sarkisian just blew it at USC between the alcoholism and his cocky attitude that rivaled Lane Kiffin's that it masked the job he did at Washington where he made Jake Locker into a top pick and won with limited talent in comparison to Oregon, UCLA and USC.
Now how or why Dan Quinn or better yet Dimitroff and Blank allowed Sarkisian to be the Falcons OC not once but TWICE in a season is beyond me. How did you not see their fart in the playoffs vs the Eagles when they had Philly on the ropes and decide to keep Sarkisian for a 2nd year and think he was going to get better. And how does Kingsbury suddenly hire this guy? Is it some sort of ode to USC that I am unaware of?
If you were going to put a staff like this and present this to a fanbase than the Jets dodged a bullet with Kingsbury. Vance Joseph has done a shit job with his defenses 3 years straight.

He definitely snorted a few lines before the presser. His relationship with the NY media is going to be a fun ride.
