Rumor floating around Vince got Joey Ryan. He is doing a farewell tour now and reported turned down an AEW contract. Rumors are he will be a trainer at NXT to help train people in character work.

I thought this was shot down weeks ago (him accepting player/coach, not him being offered)?

Rumors are back now he did not appear at the AEW show. He said he has a big announcement Thursday to make about his future. He turned down the last WWE offer, but the new offer may be different.

Maria & Mike Kanellis also are about to be free agents. Assuming they are RoH bound.

Maria tweeted about their contracts being up during or right after DON. So I have to assume they’d prefer to end up there.

He would be great with new guys on making characters. I think if he goes to WWE, it will be a non-wrestling contract. If he was going to AEW, well, he would be there.

Maria tends to joke off stuff after people complain. Their contracts are up this month and they previously requested a release and were denied so i cannot see them resigning.  Frankly I am not sure AEW wants them.  Maria brings controversy everywhere she goes it seems and loves to bring it to social media.  Cody does not need to take everyone.

Speaking of taking everyone though, Luchasaurus signed.

Maria is honestly one of the most annoying people in wrestling. Keep her and her very average husband away please, they can definitely go to ROH.

My thoughts exactly. She can be a good manager, but it is not worth the rest of the drama that comes with her. And Bennett without Taven is as average as you can get.  Even with Taven they are not really must haves and AEW is overflowing with tag guys.

Maria would be great as a manager or some sort of on air personality - if she didn't come as a package with Bennet.

I reckon the best thing I saw from Impact in the last 5 years was Bridezilla Maria, the wedding, the thing with Allie. The whole storyline.

Brandi is practically a knock off of Maria, don't see how they would both work in one womens division.

Reports are they scored 98k buys.

That's nearly 99k.

It's hilarious to me if they scored 98K buys, they out-performed the best TNA buy-rate by nearly 50%.

I mean, even when they had Hogan, Flair, Angle, Hardy, Sting etc. TNA never felt as big of a deal as this. It's very cool.

I almost felt like replying to that photo of Juice's stable, and commenting it was the last days of ROH. 

I have this feeling AEW could burn through all it's big money matches, very quickly. Mox v Jericho is around the corner, as is Mox v Omega. And by this time next year, they could be running out of marquee match ups ( unless they pick up more WWE talent ) 

A partnership with NJPW wouldn't be a bad thing, in fact it would be amazing. NJPW can take the east, AEW take the west. Together they're a monster. 

Once AEW starts doing weekly TV shows they’ll have their work cut out for them. But at the same time, after only one show, they’ve had a number of unknown (to most) wrestlers get relatively over.

I think they’ve bought themselves at least a year or two of weekly programming and I’d be stunned if they don’t bring in some other big names and also build up some more people.

AEW has a shit ton of big matches it can do before they burn out. Assuming they make no stars you have Omega, Cody, Dustin, Daniels, Moxley, Nakazawa, Pentagon, Fenix, CIMA and Evans all as reasonable challenges. There are a lot of amazing guys in AAA as well they can use, El Hijo del Vikingo being the guy I would be most excited to see appear. Psycho Clown, Blue Demon Jr and Pagano also I think would be great. Really hope when the tag titles are awarded, Los Mercenarios gets a title shot. These guys are so good. Also can bring in some Dragon's Gate guys like BXB Hulk, Daga and Dragon Kid.

Anywho some new:

Hangman vs Jericho on All Out.

I don't see them burning out. If they do they'll have a steady stream of old WWE guys to freshen things up anyway. I think people will probably need to temper their expectations for the non-PPV events (Fyter Fest for example) where you won't necessarily see title matches/changes or original singles matches at the top of the card.

You say that, but Fyter Fest is shooting right out of the gate with Janela v Moxley.

c I think most on that list wouldn’t draw a cent, and that’s ok. AEW’s big 3 are Moxley, Omega and Jericho.

But that’s not to say, The Bucks, The Rhodes and eventually maybe Page couldn’t handle a main event on a smaller PPV over the next 12 months. I think AEW will need to nail some big marquee matches to really set the tone, that they’re here and they’re dangerous to the rest of the world, especially over the next year.

The next NXT UK: Takeover is on the same day as All Out.

To me, that shows how much the WWE is underestimating AEW. They think it’s going to be an NXT competitor, and not a “main brand” competitor.

And I just found out New Japan has a big show of its own on that very same day too.

Honestly, I do not think they care. NXT is HHH's thing not Vince's. NXT UK does good or bombs makes no difference I assume to most of the WWE guys on the main shows. Oddly enough, I would actually expect more people in WWE to care about that AEW show personally than NXT UK anyway.
