In all seriousness, they announced it on last week's show right around the time they announced all the other matches for the following show.

Yep. The highlight of the match was Wardlow doing a Hurricarana from out of nowhere in the fight.


Brock Anderson was the highlight of the night for me, he seems like such an Anti-AEW guy with good basic fundamentals even if nothing is truly flashy. He feels like he belongs in WWE, not AEW with the style he works, which is a compliment. He can probably hit the gym a little more and get more in-ring work but he didn't come off as someone wrestling his 1st match. The match structure was maybe kind to him but honestly outside of not getting to use a finisher vs Solow, he had a good debut.

I caught a bit of the promo segment where The Pinnacle laid out the challenges, but I didn't pay attention to when the matches were set. I thought it would have been a future PPV. Maybe the other matches are but the MMA fight was set for Dynamite.

Yeah that MMA match was a bit shit wasn't it? You either go all in with the MMA or don't do it at all. If you simulate an MMA match and start including hokey pro-wrestling moves like springboard punches and powerbombs then it all looks dumb.

It wasn't good but I think it was just done to make Wardlow look like a threat. And to give inner circle a win.

No build. You need to position MJF as World Champion, and beat the goofiness out of him in the process and make him look like a legitimate main event talent.. with Wardlow build him to the point he comfortably is the breakout talent and strike with a face turn. Ie: Batista v Hunter. Or don't make MJF look stronger, and Wardy then looks like the toughest SOB on the planet next to MJF and eats him alive. A lot of work needs to happen first before MJF is in a position to put people over.

Why would he? Lately has MJF did anything disrespectful to him. Normally when it happens the boss is disrespectful  constantly until the employee finally breaks. MJF only said a few things which could reasonable happen to anyone on one bad day. And it was way to early to break them apart at the time.

On today's WOR, Big Dave reported that he was "told a few days ago" that Tommy End (Aleister Black) will be All Elite.

He was answering a fan mail question asking if Aleister Black would go back to WWE since Samoa Joe did and others recently released might also be going back. I have to assume Dave wouldn't report that if he didn't believe it to be true. Guess we wait and see.

He's said a million times that his star rankings aren't consistent and shouldn't carry as much weight as they do. I'm almost positive the only reason he still does them is because it's popular and basically a meme.

See, this is why Meltzer should be treated the way I treat him. If he reports a juicy rumour, it's probably true. But don't pay attention to him beyond that. :lol:

I remember speaking with a guy that ran a dirtsheet site near on 20 years ago, who basically said 50% of the reports were absolutely rubbish. And because we give dirtsheets too much credit, if something they reported didn't come true, people just assumed the dirtsheets influenced the outcome. Or the much quoted Meltzer quote "they must have changed something"

I honestly hope Meltzer is right when it comes to Tommy End. Aleister Black had a fun run in NXT but he was just a bad fit on the main roster. Does he have a personality of a WWE main eventer? Not really. Ideally he'd make a good IC Champion in the same vein as Darby is a good TNT Champion but the titles have different conotations. You strap an IC Championship on somebody and they kind of get booked in these silly angles with racist stereotypes.

At least if End goes to Dynamite he's somebody you can bolster the card with and they'll let him go. Like Andrade he's another ex-WWE type that they should go after. Somebody with some indie cred who has their own dynamic going on.

I think I may have figured out his star rating. If you do it by precents it makes sense. I am going to trust the 4.5 are correct with making these statements.

Both of those matches happened when 5 was the max before 2017.

So 4.5 of 5 is 90% good. So those two matches got a 90 in his eyes.

After 2018 the current max is 7.

So 4.5 out of 7 is about a 64%

Does everyone agree with a 64 out of 100 for that MMA match? :rofl:

Keep in mind Dave has said that Marko Stunt will be the next Rey Mysterio!

Pretty torn on the prospect of a Tommy End signing; AEW is always at risk of becoming 'What's so and so doing in the Impact Zone' and with Miro, Andrade and maybe Iinspiration on the way adding End/Trinidad might be too much.

Yup. Funny part is Jericho, Kahn etc. take so many jabs at WWE creative yet teaming Andrade with Trinidad is textbook WWE creative so it's like pot meets kettle at some point.
