We have reached the end of this exciting football season. Awards were handed out. Mahomes won OPOTY and MVP. Nagy won Coach of the Year. Andrew Luck one CPOTY. Barkley and Leonard took home ROTY awards on their sides of the field. DPOTY went to a man playing tonight, Aaron Donald.
So tonight, the Los Angeles Rams will try and start their own dynasty as they take on the familiar SB name, the dynasty, the New England Patriots!
Will TB12 grab #6? If he loses and falls to 5-4 in the Super Bowls, what does that do for his legacy?
I’m taking the slight over on the 56.5 and the New England Patriots to win by 3 and covering their spread. Let’s do this shit!

I got all my money on the Rams , I don't feel great about betting against the Patriots but it worked last year and I'm going to that well again. I just think that Aaron Donald and Suh getting pressure up the middle on Brady is a great matchup and I suspect Gurley to have a huge game in the passing attack against New Englands linebackers. Also looking for Robert Woods to have a good day in the middle of the field.
On the flip side though I think New England has a great advantage against the linebackers of the Rams. James White is going to have a monster game and Gronk could even get going as well. If not Gronk than Edelman is going to have a big day.
It's a real close matchup , and one I struggled with. I just think the Rams are more dynamic in certain areas and capable of making splash plays but I wouldn't be shocked to see the Patriots win it late either.
My prediction:
LA Rams: 31 NE Patriots: 27
MVP: Todd Gurley
*Note - If the Patriots win I think James White is MVP.

I bet $555 on the Patriots covering (2.5) and it being over 56.5 so I’m trying to get that $1900+ payday.
Can’t bet against TB12.

I also have the Rams. I find it interesting that the Patriots are favourites with the bookmakers. I understand it of course, but it does allow the Rams to occupy the unusual position of being the better team and the underdog simultaneously. I can't think of a better position to be in going into a Super Bowl, especially for a young coach and young quarterback.
The Patriots can of course win. There's only one thing you know you'll get from the Patriots, and that's variety. They're going to adopt a similar plan to the one they had against the Chiefs, presumably. Tons of quick passes, screen passes, running plays, mixing it up with two or three different running backs. The key for me is the interior pressure the Rams can generate. The Pats have a good offensive line with solid interior protection. So Donald and Suh will need huge games. Donald will be his usual infallible self. So Suh is massively important. He has had games where's been monstrous, and games where he's been dreadful. He is key for the Rams defense.
Really excited for the game.

Tough one to call. I think the Rams have a better defence but Gurley and co need to put up points in the first half before Brady & Belichick figure them out and start to drive hard in the 2nd half. If it’s a close game at halftime then I think the Pats take it whether they’re leading or not.
The Rams won’t pull an Atlanta so if they get out to a decent lead I think it’ll stay that way.

Key for me is whether the Rams pass rush is able to get pressure on Brady. Dante Fowler and Ndamukong Suh have raised their level of play in the playoffs and they'll need to keep that surge going. Brady has been kept completely clean against the Chiefs and Chargers (two teams who looked like they had the dudes up front to trouble him) and the results speak for themselves.
Can't wait for the game - I'm cooking everyone hot dogs at work today.

I know people are down on this game because of what happened in the New Orleans game and the Patriots are there all the time , but the closer it gets the more pumped I am. It has so many fun narratives and great matchups that should be a ton of fun to watch play out.
Boston vs LA - Narrative but a fun one.
McVay vs Belichek - The new young offensive guru vs the grizzled defensive coach. One is arguably the GOAT and the other is one of the best of RIGHT NOW. Both with two weeks to prepare.
Donald/Suh vs Pats OL & Belichek - Donald and Suh has an argument as the best interior pass rushing duo ever , especially based off stats. This is their statement game. The Patriots offensive line has been really good this season and great in the postseason so this matchup should be fire.
Gurley vs Pats LBs - This should be a huge problem for New England.
James White vs Rams LBs - This should be a huge problem for the Rams.
Goff vs Brady - This is more narrative because Brady is Brady but the 3rd year young upstart blue chipper (1st overall pick) vs the overlooked potential GOAT in like his 100th Superbowl.
Making homemade pork tacos with a bunch of fixings for the game. Should be a blast.

We suspected as much, but the British broadcast is claiming that the stadium sounds like a 5:1 ratio in favour of the Patriots fans. Obviously it's not that, but what a weird atmosphere this will be if it sounds like a Patriots home game.

Well the Patriots also have hurds and hurds of bandwagoners , I don't hate the team but they are getting harder and harder to not root against. British broadcasters though? You guys don't get the genius of Tony Romo? I'll be curious to see if he tones it down for this game.

The Patriots offensive line has been really good this season and great in the postseason so this matchup should be fire. Got to mention the GOAT position coach Dante Scarnecchia here. Dude has taken a bunch of third and fourth round picks with the combined cap hit of most teams LT and they've given up like one pressure to Bosa/Ingram/Ford/Jones/Houston.

That is true , credit usually goes to Big Bill for the in game adjustments though - but both will deserve credit. Especially if Donald/Suh come out early with pressures and they make some effective scheme changes and neutralize them. As good as the Pats offensive line has been , they are going to need some help and scheming I think. Also Brady's release is lighting fast so that will play a huge factor too.

Btw, I'm sure you all know this, but just in case you don't, there is wrestling on the WWE Network tonight at halftime. Better than watching Maroon 5.
