Yeah, that's code word for "Fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down" Personalities are interesting though and before c, comes in a rips it to shreds, have you ever done one of the 16 personality type tests? I did a professional development course that covered this last week. I always found it interesting but a bit of a wank. This time we did it in a group and it was interesting how different he thinking was and how much it was reflected in the scores.... So what personality are you? www.16personalities.com/free-personality-testI am a "Debater" ENTP, I doubt that shocks anybody here too greatly :suspic: For bonus points, tag other posters and guess their type. iron maiden, is an ENFP PS. Debaters are the most likely personality type to say that no topics should be off limits for comedy.

I enjoy these quizzes. It always makes me think about how much my personality changed from what I was like in high school to now. I wonder how much research has been done into the application of a nature vs nurture style argument in shaping personality. Anyway, I got Adventurer ISFP. The parts about not handling criticism very well and not being a good goal setter are definitely true, but I'm not a risk taker and am definitely not easily stressed. The company does personality testing and a big reason I got the job was because it picked up that I'm laid back and not highly strung - balancing out a colleague who's on the other end of the scale. I think dex would be INFJ.

I would definitely have picked you for an Extrovert. I test as a slight preference for extroversion. KING KID is am ESFP

These days I'd rather have a proper conversation with one or two friends over lunch than go on a night out - but there are still some elements of the younger, louder me that come out in certain situations. I definitely don't go out of my way to talk to new people, and I've even been told by people I've later become friends with that I gave off a terrible first impression and seemed like a closed off dick. As you indicated yours doesn't seem like a surprise at all! Is your missus the emotionally sensitive half?

Logician INTP-T
“The Logician personality type is fairly rare, making up only three percent of the population.”
Yay, I guess 😒
Agree with @hr that the questions are worded in a way that I feel I’m not giving the most accurate answer.
Fans will come up after shows when I’ve been announcing all night and seem put off that I’m not very talkative. I can do public speaking/be in front of crowds all day with no stage fright but 1 on 1 conversations with new people is like pulling teeth at times. Where as I’ve met very extroverted people who never stop talking and they hate public speaking 🤔

As you indicated yours doesn't seem like a surprise at all! Is your missus the emotionally sensitive half? Well, I am in all seriousness a far more emotional person than m wife :suspic: I would infer from the results that it is more a reflection of whether you base your decisions on what you think or what you feel, not how you feel about your decisions or peoples reactions. Agree with @hr that the questions are worded in a way that I feel I’m not giving the most accurate answer. We all have tendencies and we "Flex" when something causes us to go outside our comfort zones. It is really only some millennials (i.e. the mentally weak) who will argue they can't participate in the world because of their introverted tendencies... Which is crap. Social anxiety is the atrophy of social skills the same way you lose muscle if you sit in a chair all day. I test as an Extrovert, I understand why... I enjoy public speaking, in a party or group situation I have no issue with being the center of attention or keeping a conversation going, but I do prefer to stay home most of the time over social situations, especially if there is nothing interesting or engaging about the group of people I am meant to be hanging with.

Anyway, I got Adventurer ISFP. Adventurer ISFP-T Team @admin! I'm convinced current life situation impacts this. For instance, I'm so exponentially stressed lately and that stress begets anxiety, frustration, anger, etc. which in turn begets rage and hatred toward people and the world. Probably just a matter of time before that all turns inward and becomes depression. Thank god for weed in the meantime. Feels like the only weapon in the arsenal that's been useful for fighting back.

I am a INFP-T - MEDIATOR
It was pretty on point overall. I can be extroverted but it drains me excessively and I prefer my alone time, to the point that sometimes I forget about everybody else. I don't like crowds. It sends my anxiety into overdrive. People say I should be a stand up comedian, but they would be surprised to know that standing up and speaking in front of people terrifies me.

I think you wouldn't be surprised to learn that many public speakers and comedians are introverted and generally screwed up. When I am going through my blackest times is when I tend to make the people around me laugh the most. Last week I did a presentation on my company to a supplier delegation in the USA and got told I should be in Stand-up or motivational speaking. Is there such a thing as motivational comedy? I am born to fill that role.

I'm ISFP-A, so assertive rather than turbulent, which is apparently the part associated with self-consciousness and sensitive to stress that I was confused about it saying before. "Confident individualism" they call it. I like it! Are you a perfectionist 🤯?

So, turns out I totally ignored the prompt about how I should've avoided answering neutral as much as possible... and I had a metric shit ton before. So retook it with no neutrals and got INTP-T Logician. Reading all the follow-on info, INTP-T Logician sounds right. Sorry, @admin...

I'm curious about the instruction to avoid being neutral affects how accurate the result really is. I understand the test needs commitment to make a reading, but on the other hand if you are pushing people to answer on the more extreme end of what they feel is that an accurate representation?

Good question, I'm sure it has to. Just furnished reading through all the pages describing stuff about INTP Logician and seems to mostly fit, so I won't go outta my way to dispute this second result... but will concede tha this present stance could just be hindsight confirmation bias or whatever.

It's obvious when someone isn't sure about something so you make the decision, then they are immediately sure the opposite is what they want.

I am a very instrospective person. I try to understand my personality as much as possible so I can be the best person possible. For that reason I've always been fascinated by these personality tests. My personality type has changed over the years, but over the past few years it has settled as a Defender (ISFJ).
"Though sensitive, Defenders have excellent analytical abilities; though reserved, they have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though they are generally a conservative type, Defenders are often receptive to change and new ideas."
The first two points are definitely true, but I wouldn't describe myself as especially conservative.
The Defender's weaknesses are that they are too humble, underplaying their accomplishments frequently (true), and lack the strength to stand up for themselves. I wouldn't describe myself as a complete pushover, but I'm probably "more pushover" than the average person.
I am very introverted. Being around large groups of people is very draining, and even being around small groups of people for a span of two or three days (e.g. Christmas) is similarly draining. I much prefer to have one-to-one conversations than communicate in a group. The fewer people, the better, because it allows for deeper, more meaningful dialogue.

My Wife and Mother in Law bosth test the exact same way as ISFJ which is as opposite as you can get to me as an ENTP, such a recipe for harmony!. I don't think it is saying you are conservative, it is saying that you are open to new ideas when presented with new information, but not a fan of change just for the sake of it.

Virtuoso ISTP-A (I don’t know what the abbreviations mean)
Virtuosos love to explore with their hands and their eyes, touching and examining the world around them with cool rationalism and spirited curiosity. People with this personality type are natural Makers, moving from project to project, building the useful and the superfluous for the fun of it, and learning from their environment as they go. Often mechanics and engineers, Virtuosos find no greater joy than in getting their hands dirty pulling things apart and putting them back together, just a little bit better than they were before.
That’s pretty damn spot on. One of my favourite things about my job is walking into a clusterfuck and figuring it out.
