I don't know if it's just me or not, but this looks pretty awesome and something that is right up my ally. After looking around the internet (re Wikipedia), it turns out this is the second game in the series, so I guess I'll have to play through the first game before this one comes out.

Big Pete, why didn't you ever mention the first Yooka-Laylee to me? Anyways, I guess you can add this to the list of Switch games coming out this year that I plan on buying.

First Yooka Laylee got more shit than it deserved, I thought. Yeah, it fell way short of Banjo Kazooie, but was still a rather fun platformer in the same tradition. The casino level can get pretty tedious, but that was about it as far as I was concerned.

Yooka-Laylee is one of the worst games I’ve ever played, it felt so empty & lifeless.

Sorry Lony, I thought you would have been aware of it. As others have pointed out, the game was a notoriously disappointing and wasn't even the best 3D Indie Platformer of the year. That honour would go to A Hat In Time. I've been meaning to check it out myself, especially since it's getting towards that bargain bin price tag.

I'm not a huge fan of the DKC: Returns vibe, but I understand why they went in that direction. It would have been difficult to convince gamers to buy another Yooka Laylee, especially since they don't have the budget to really done anything ground-breaking which is what would have been required. I hope it's a smash hit, but from the looks of it, it just looks like a bad knock off of a game that came out 9 years ago.

Hat in Time was such a good game. If it ever comes to Switch I'd get it Lony. Unless you have a PS4 as well, then I'm sure you don't gotta wait and hope.

While I couldn't care less about Spyro potentially being in Crash Team Racing, as I don't plan on buying the game myself. I did however purposely hold off on buying the Spyro Reignited Trilogy on the PS4, in hopes, it would come to the Switch ala Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy.

I wish I had your luck, while certainly nothing more than average, and a tremendous step down from it's predecessors, doubt it could touch the bottom 100 games I've played. 

Haven't played many Superman 64 level games, but I recently played a game where the A and B buttons were swapped. A should be jump and confirm, but B was. Basically everything you've come to expect configuration to me was reversed with no way to change inputs. I'll play Yooka 100x before that. Yooka was just unremarkable and kinda uninspiring.

System how did you go with the DK tats? I was having a look at renders and I think this was about as bright and colourful a pic available.

If you're looking for something vertically oriented, what about that King Kong climax scene on the Empire State building? Replace King Kong with Donkey Kong, the girl with Princess Peach, the planes with those flying Paratroopa characters, etc.?

So hey it's my nephew's birthday and my sister got him an X-Box One system... awesome right? Except, this piece of shit is crap. We make the account, make a password (ten letters), as well as a 4 digit access code that needed to be used. Whatever no problem, anyways she chose the passkey option as not to have a ten-year-old make purchases, except she never got an email telling her what it was, or put in one (I was with her setting it up), yet it keeps saying we need to put it in (even though she didn't create one).

Again fuck X-Box systems... this is why Sony and Nintendo are better, I never have problems with this shit.

Sorry for the rant, gonna search Google to try and find an answer.


Edit: So apparently putting in random combos means you gotta eventually put in the password... not connected to the internet, does network connection test says the console is connecting to the internet (did this six fucking times), won't let me use the password, due to not being connected even though it says I am.

Seriously, never had this problem with the PS4 and Switch when setting them up, I'm at the point where I want to break the controller before even playing any games.

Edit 2: Finally got that shit working, ended up doing a hard reset on the system, which fucking sucks, as we ended up losing out on the game pass that came with the Fortnite themed X-Box One S (as we used the code during the first set up).

I went to Supanova on the weekend, it’s basically knock off brand Comic-Con.

Had a pretty fun time, could have met David Hayter but it was $35 just for a selfie and $70 for an autograph/voice message so I didn’t end up going. I just spent my time being a cheapskate and getting selfies with cosplayers, some pretty cool gaming ones. Loved the Scorpion & Venom Snake one especially. sandylea got some cool pics too if she wants to post them.

I read the story as it was breaking, what an awful outcome and the worst part about it is that it was hardly surprising. Everybody could see how much he was publicly struggling and when he sought help the treatment was almost laughable. He'd have a major public meltdown and within days he was out. I understand there's only so much mental health institutions can do but in 20 years time we're going to look back at this and think how dumb we were as a society to treat this as lightly as we have. It's like putting a band-aid on somebody with cancer.

The only content I saw him in was that AlexCND series where he waited on the streets of New York for a month in lieu of the Switch launch. Those were surprisingly comfortable videos to watch and Etika was their big celebrity pull that was lost on somebody who didn't follow the Nintendo YouTube community. Then after it was all done, he and this other Nintendo YouTuber TriForce spoke about some of the behind the scenes drama. I forget all the details, but some guy basically showed up in NYC with no money and no where to stay, tried to get on camera and ended up prostituting to get a Switch. He also bought AlexCND this wonderful gift bag of Nintendo merch and gave Triforce (a black man) a bar of soap. Their roasting of the entire situation was one of my favourite videos of that year.

I haven't played Smash Bros since late last year but I finally stumbled upon my GameCube adaptor and wanted to get a session in. Went to redeem the code, only to learn it expired on Sunday and the character isn't included in the Fighters Pass DLC which I'm planning on buying.

I felt so guilty, I still spent the money, even though I'll rarely play as the character. I did end up doing a classic run just to get some value out of the character, but it maybe the most embarrassing $6.50 I've ever spent. It doesn't help that I'm thinking about all the classic Steam games I could have bought with that money. Knights of the Old Republic, Half Life 1 and 2, Portal 1 and 2, System Shock 2 etc. Nope, give me my Piranha Plant character that I should have had for free.
