I've had the date marked on my calender ever since it was announced, but I'm hearing rumours that the game is ridiculously short. I'm not sure if people are just spreading misinformation, or if the game is only 6 hours long.
Reviews come out later tonight, so we'll learn more then.

Looks like some new DLC Captain Toad levels up on the eshop. That makes me pretty happy.

Finally got around, to pre-ordering Mortal Kombat 11 (PS4 version), from EB Games. Of course, I also ended up picking up Monster Boy: The Cursed Kingdom, and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, both for the Switch. So I guess I'll be spending my weekend, playing either one of those games... I guess gives me something to play, until Yoshi's Crafted World is released. Looks like some new DLC Captain Toad levels up on the eshop. That makes me pretty happy. @ness, yeah I saw that earlier, will prob get around to getting it sometime soon.

What sucks about Toad is I played it on WiiU so I had to rebuy the main game for the extra levels. But whatever I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Playstation's answer to Nintendo Direct is launching on Monday.
It'll be called Playstation's State of Play, and it will air live at 5 ET/2 PT.
Think we'll get anything new on The Last of Us II, or Death Stranding?

Disney is relaunching LucasFilm Games: www.cbr.com/disney-lucasfilm-games-revival/Article speculated that Disney could revoke EA’s license to Star Wars. And it seems they’re hiring developers. If they start releasing RPGs or an action-adventure series or whatever, I’ll be so happy. A good Star Wars franchise has been desperately missing from the latest gen of consoles. I don’t even care if they use current or former or made up characters or whatever, just fucking give me a good game or two.

I will say this, while playing in modern mode is nice and all, there is a certain charm to the game, when playing it in retro mode (which is how I've been playing it). I never actually played Wonder Boy III back in the day, but games like this, as well as SMB 3 and SMW, as well as the Sonic and Mega Man games are what I built my gaming cred on, so it's nice to get a chance to play this version of it.

I made a few posts about the game as I was playing it a month or two ago, but I couldn't get behind the retro look. Every so often (generally when I could get to a new area or a boss) I'd switch the view to see how it originally looked and found it very ugly. I understand graphics and sprites have come a long ass way in 20-30 years but I found it difficult to look at, especially the underwater parts. But it's still a cool feature.

Picked up Mass Effect Andromeda, for all the shit talk, I was having fun when I rented it until a mission breaking glitch, just have to remember to save more often. Still $6 for a PS4 game...few games aren't gonna be worth at least that much.

I got a few questions that I'll post here, hopefully you fine folks can help me out.
1. Let's say I wanted to get a Micro SD card for my Switch, what would be the best brand to get?
2. Speaking of games, has anyone on here played Unravel 2? If so, what were your thoughts on the game?
3. Also even more game talk, let's say I wanted to get into more Indie games for the Switch, which games do you think would be best to get?

I don't think you can go wrong with a SanDisk 200GB option. That should provide you with enough wriggle room while providing the most value for money. If price isn't an issue, then just scale higher. I think 400-500GB are becoming more affordable, but just keep an eye out for whatever's cheap in your part of Canada (Toronto?)
Indie Games Hollow Knight - It's a 2D Action-Adventure game where you explore this insect kingdom, learning power-ups, abilities etc. along the way. The game is pretty challenging with a lot of bosses and a ton of content. It's a really charming game, but it's very difficult in places. If you enjoy games like Metroid, you'll dig this.
WarGroove - It's a love letter to the Famicom Wars (Advance Wars in the West) series. I haven't beaten this game yet, but it's similar to Fire Emblem except there's no JRPG elements. The units and everything are all assembled, you just have to come up with the right strats.
Stardew Valley - Same deal as WarGroove except this time it's a love letter to Harvest Moon. This takes a more story-driven path which always felt lacking in the Harvest Moon games and includes plenty of modes like a multiplayer mode which makes it more enjoyable. If you're a Harvest Moon fan, you should check it out.
Undertale - I'm sure you would have heard of this one, this is Toby Fox's famous release which was even referenced in the recent WrestleKingdom main event between Omega and Tanahashi. If you're not aware, Undertale is very similar to Earthbound but with a very unconventional twist and a ton of different paths for the game to go down.
Other Games Worth Checking Out: Moonlighter Into The Breach Hyper Light Drifter Golf Story Dead Cells Celeste The Messenger GRIS Overcooked 2

I would highly recommend Baba is You if you are into puzzle games, the games works by putting it's rules as word blocks that you can push to form sentences. At it's low price it has a rather huge amount of levels, the game can make you feel like a genius one moment and like a complete fool the next, easily the best puzzle game in a while, imo. Big Pete already covered many of the big ones, so I will instead recommend the Steamworld series by Image & Form games. The deal with these games is that while they all take place in the same universe/timeline, almost every game is a different genre, and all of them are excellent at wha they aim to do. First there is Dig, not the first game in the series (that is a DSiware game that is no longer easily obtained, unfortunately), but it is the one that started the series' rise on indie popularity, a relatively mining platformer, similar to Spelunky, you go through a procedurally generated mine looking for rare materials and fighting off monsters, getting upgrades as you go deeper into the earth, it's a short game but easily worth it's low asking price (plus it's quite often on sale). Then my personal favorite, Heist, this one takes place in space and is a turn based strategy shooter (think Mario + Rabbids but in 2D). Dig 2 is a direct sequel to Dig, but this one is much bigger, has an actually designed map instead of procedurally generated and a whole lot more of everything, you could basically it a Metroidvania if you wish to, the progession systems are very similar to one. And the most recently released one, Quest is a card based RPG, I am just barely getting close to finishing this one, it has one of the best battle systems I have enjoyed in an RPG in a long while.

Big fan of the Dig games, others aren't really my cup of tea, I might play Heist eventually, as I can get that through Gamefly, but not gonna pay for a game outside of my wheelhouse on the offchance I enjoy it. Persona 5 made me a believer, but that's a rare thing.

So does anyone else keep up with the YouTube gaming scene?
Recently ProJared went radio silent on his account. After years of posting semi-decent AVGN videos, he just stopped creating videos for his main channel and as far as I'm aware stuck mostly to Twitch. At the time, it sounded like he was just burned out creatively and was just trying to figure out what direction he wanted to take the channel which seemed like a fair enough decision and everyone respected his privacy. Then a few weeks ago a few of his videos on other channels like Game Grumps were privitised which raised a few eyebrows but they were so old people didn't care enough to really look into it.
Then yesterday shit really hit the fan.
ProJared announced on social media he was getting a divorce from his wife Heidi and he asked the fans to respect their privacy and consider her mental wellbeing.
What he didn't write was that he had also blocked Heidi and didn't OK the message with her.
Having had enough, Heidi told everyone that Jared had been having an affair with Holly Conrad, the wife of the Game Grumps host Ross O'Donovan for over a year.
It's worth noting that just over six months ago, Holly and Ross announced they were also getting a divorce and that Holly would be moving to Seattle, where ProJared resides.
So all these weird things that didn't quite add up make all the sense in the world now and ProJared's YouTube career appears to be coming to an end. Not because of the affair with Holly, but because of his other online activity has been exposed and there's an investigation going on with him allegeldy solicity nudes from girls who were under the age of 18.
It's really sad that if you give guys like ProJared even a modicrum of celebrity they'll exploit it and become degenerates.
On a personal level, it's sad that somebody whose content I enjoyed watching turned out to be a scumbag. I first started paying attention to ProJared when he was on ScrewAttack in 2011 and really enjoyed the dynamic he brought to the channel. He was the pretentious RPG fan with just enough wit to be entertaining and he mixed well with the crew. Then one day he was mysteriously dropped from the channel and started popping up elsewhere and his content was actually pretty enjoyable. He used to have nice variety to his content where he'd do retrospectives, one minute reviews and AVGN style reviews. I also really enjoyed his Let's Play of a Pokemon Red Nuzlocke Challenge. It was the perfect content to have on in the background while I studied or just decompressed for the day and it was way more entertaining than it had any right to be.
Alas, it appears that ProJared's career is done and all the channels I spent countless hours watching really were a waste of time.

I don't really follow gamers on YouTube for the most part, though I will occasionally check out new videos from BeatEmUps (as he does a lot of Switch videos), and to a somewhat lesser extent RGT 85. Also thanks Big Pete, went to the closest Wal-Mart near me, but all they had were 32 and 64 GB SanDisk Micro SD cards, which was lame, so I just ordered a 200 GB SanDisk card off of Amazon instead. Also, looked at the games you guys mentioned, definitely interested in some of them, also came across a game called 20XX, which looks pretty cool and will be a future buy for me as well.

Projared is a scumbag and is getting what he deserves. His wife (former) is a cosplayer and a really good one at that. Her Zelda and Samus cosplays are lovely. Projared is an idiot to be fooling around, when he has something like that.

I don't know what scarred me more when I saw projared trending on Twitter. The dick pics or his Sailor Mercury cosplay. Both images I will never ever get out of my head, not for a long while.
And I second GB. How do you cheat on someone that talented with that mistress. Not trying to rag on anyone's looks but geez.

It’s weird the stance people have when it comes to Youtubers.
If actor A cheats on their partner no one cares, but if a YouTuber does its moral outrage as if they know the person. I’ve watched maybe one or two ProJared movies I think but nothing that stands out. Then again I watch an ungodly amount of Youtube so it all blurs together.
I guess because Youtubers try to be more personal and pretend to care about their fans for Patreon donations I guess.

The cheating is certainly bad don't get me wrong but that should not be career ending. Being a sexual predator using his clout for naked pictures of underage teenagers and showing dick pics to them is what will rightfully do him in. Alot of people are posting their experiences on social media and when there's smoke.....
He fucked up in that aspect. Last week a youtuber got 10 years in prison for a similar case, he's not only done as a video game reviewer but he's going to go to jail in all likelihood.

I guess because Youtubers try to be more personal and pretend to care about their fans for Patreon donations I guess. Originally, it started off light-hearted enough with a minor celebrity handling his divorce in the worst possible way. If it had have stopped at that, fans of his channel could finally understand why he'd gone radio silent and while I'm sure there would be some backlash it would have all blown over pretty quickly. What caused a storm is that it made people review his past behaviour and it came to light he had a Tumblr account where he was soliciting nudes off of fans and sending nudes. That was embarrassing enough, but it became even worse when it came out that he was soliciting photos from teenagers.
It varies from state to state, but I believe the person in the photo has to be 17 years and older. Consent laws are mirky for 16-17 year olds as well, although in ProJared's situation, I think he'd be found innocent. Basically people of authority (aka teachers, guardians, police etc.) cannot engage in sexual intercourse with somebody under the age of 18. Some states in Australia had some really strange sex laws.

@nighty, Just saw that Steamworld Dig, was on sale on the Switch, for $4.00 (well free I guess, since I redeemed my coins for it), so I picked it up, I figure I'll give it a shot before looking into the other games you mentioned. Having said that, I might not get around to it, until at least the weekend as I'm still playing the Castlevania collection.
Edit: Also in the process of downloading a game called Owlboy as well.

Not a video game, but thanks to a few days with nothing else to preoccupy myself with, I have thoroughly mastered Rubik's Cube, not to the insane degree of competitors...but 5-10 minutes, done deal.
