Maybe Natalya will get a gimmick that isn’t just “I’m related to Bret Hart” Back to the farting gimmick! Or worse, a female Blue Blazer.

It’s easy to suggest AEW is now a threat to WWE. I will say, AEW did in one night, the thing TNA and ROH have spent the last 17 years trying to do. Become competition.
AEW maybe, just maybe found it’s trump card in Mox. It’s very own SCSA.

Also again, one or two good shows are not hard for feds to do. My question is what will the 6th show look like. By then most new feds start to lose the excitement of being the new kid on the block and live or die on fans spending money on a regular basis. This show was great, but they burned a few huge matches fast. Hope they can keep up the quality. Also curious what the pressure of some of the stars means. Moxley, Havoc and Joey Janela are some pretty big names from the deathmatch scene. We could see some really good deathmatches in AEW if they move that way. Certainly would offer something they cannot get in WWE.

Better than All In. I think I enjoyed pretty much 90% of it. Not a fan of the commentator, thought there was too much fan service in an event that should have been more of a showcase, and some of the wrestling was too choreographed, but all in all, I had a great time with this show.

How much does the music during the jacket part of Jericho's entrance sound like Balor's? 😂

Jericho vs Omega was easily the best match of the show, although it probably wouldn't make a Top 10 MOTY list. Still, though, an amazing conclusion to a groundbreaking show.
Both Cody vs Dustin and Bucks vs Lucha Bros went too excessive for my liking. Particularly the finisher kickouts in the tag match. It's a shame because it started off so phenomenally.
My favourite matches from the undercard were the women's matches. Britt Baker and Kylie Rae are great wrestlers to have at the top of your division. That's not to mention all the Joshi ladies. Not seen any of them before besides Aja Kong. Yuka Sakazaki impressed me the most. I'll be keeping an eye out for her.

I thought the ending came off perfectly, as did the Kong surprise and the Bret Hart appearance. Giving the rub to guys like Page and MJF is a lot bigger deal than many people think. In fact, I think the ending went better than they could have even imagined.
In all, I was impressed. They need to get rid of the iMPACT guy responsible for the camera work, but everything was bang on, nothing disappointed, and there was a lot set up for the future. Page will get a lot from working Jericho, The Rhodes Brothers is a nice feelgood moment and a bookend to Dustin's career, Omega/Moxley will be phenomenal, especially with Moxley motivated again, and the tag team division speaks for itself. So bloody happy to see the Super Smash Brothers given a chance to shine. Visa issues mean they are a bit late to the party, but they are easily one of the best tag teams in the world and they deserve the chance to show it.

Back to the farting gimmick! Or worse, a female Blue Blazer. I almost made a joke last night about Bret Hart falling off the stage but I held back. I also couldn't think of anything that was witty and not just poor taste. Now that I've slept on it, I still really enjoyed the show and the ending was great, but I have more than one gripe. I already mentioned Cody smashing that stupid chair and how cringey that was for me, so I'll skip that. I also mentioned how The Bucks winning was annoying because I really can't understand why they wouldn't want The Lucha Bros to get a big win when they're being introduced to a much wider audience than they're used to. Also having a new and insane Mexican tag team bring home the AAA tag titles to kick off AEW would have been so sweet. It was still my MOTN though. Those guys can go. (My annoyance might be misplaced though. Who decides who wins that match? AEW or AAA, since their titles are the ones on the line?) It's like Cody and The Bucks can't help but smell their own farts and it annoys me. I really hope they get over themselves before the TV deal hits. And since someone mentioned PAC/Hangman, I'll say this: Hangman Page might be the only guy that deserves a push to be the face of AEW's main event (when you're talking about Cody/Bucks/Omega). PAC is an amazing talent but his attitude is hit and miss and I don't think putting your title on a heel like him is a good move to kick off your brand. Page on the other hand has a bigger following than most people think, and he's a natural babyface that a lot of people can get behind. Great look, solid ring work, total safe bet to crown as your first champ. Omega is too obvious and shouldn't win first, and Cody crowning himself champ would go over like a fart in church. He had his moment with the NWA title at All In. I'm also annoyed with PAC because now we have Jericho vs. Page and it's painfully obvious that Page is going to win. Jericho's job is to put people over and he does it better than just about anyone. He's going to make Page look like a million bucks but it'll be overshadowed by this nonsense with PAC. My only hope is that the drama goes away and they stick the title on Page, then let PAC have his heel moment by walking out and kicking the shit out of him to end the show. I would love that.

I'm pretty sure that the company who has the belts decides who wins the title match, just going by all the times that WCW and TNA pissed New Japan off by booking title changes for belts that weren't theirs.

I think Jericho will win. Quick reign, and he'll put someone over on the next PPV. I don't think they'll pass up the opportunity to have an all time legend start the title lineage.
Plus Page could benefit from a little more building up.

I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure when Jericho is making his entrance and stands there for a long while, he was meant to have pyro. Seems like he mouths “damn it” afterwards and Kenny had pyro so it makes sense he would also  RT Fénix ‘s reliability probably has something to do with it www.mandatory.com/wrestlezone/news/1093791-aiw-promoter-claims-fenix-lied-to-him-then-no-showed-event Promoter I know, booked him for a show. Had earthquake in Mexico..cancelled due to family commitments, which is def understandable. But obviously messes up show and at a cost to promoter. Begs promoter to bring him back later to make up for it...promoter books it. Keeps deposit money and no shows event/cuts contact with promoter. Not the first or last time it seems judging by the article 🤦🏻♀️

Look at this picture: i.redd.it/8q7fuy59wh031.jpgAs for Page, all I’m saying is that I can see a scenario where he wins and it works. But I think you guys are right and Jericho will win. Major mainstream appeal as first champ. Even opens the door for PAC to screw Page out of the title and set up a feud. Instant heat on PAC and Page can build up as a babyface more.

Page is pretty good, he's definitely got something 'extra' that could make him a top star, but IMO he isn't there yet and a nice chase against a legend could get him there.
I think if they were hell-bent on having a modern, 'fitting' champ then they just would have gone with Omega, which I thought they would do. I like that they haven't and now the All Out card (presumably) looks to have a huge double main event.

This one Todd ? Yeah, text only on PW makes it like talking to Drax from GOTG sometimes. Like say they teased Bret’s appearance at DoN with a Maple Leaf on a graphic somewhere, it’s obviously done to allude to Punk even it’s the Chicago flag.

Like I said, they’re going to tease a CM Punk appearance whether he’s going to be there or not. That was always the plan and they’re going to get so many buys because of it.
They run a fine line though. Do you just go “all out” and try to get Punk to appear no matter what it costs? Or do you tease it knowing you’re going to piss off a section of fans that only bought the PPV because you teased him showing up so hard?
...
The more I think about it the more I can see how well they’re building towards Jericho as first champ. Check out his Instagram from last night as he reacted to Cody & co patting themselves on the back after the show. I can’t wait for Jericho to win the title then just walk out and go “you’re welcome,” and claim full credit for making AEW what it is.

Go and get him. Give him Lesnar money. I really would.
I don't need him to enjoy the product or be excited by it and I'm pretty sure most fans feel similarly, but if he's listening they should try to get him. The pipebomb started all of this, one could conceivably argue (and knowing Punk, he would argue exactly that).

Punk showing up would be The Outsiders in WCW huge so It would be definitely worth the investment.
Just have Moxley,Jericho and Punk if he’s willing as your main 3 WWE guys (Cody is a different story) and build the rest of the roster up that aren’t as we’ll know to a wider audience. Release PAC while they’re at it.
