I just like them as a way to get some discussion going for topics that otherwise don't require their own threads and wouldn't otherwise get talked about. I ain't making A League of Their Own thread because it would suck but it brings it up and moves along. Also it could motivate people to possibly watch some movies they might not seen or seen in awhile - which I think is a good thing as a lover of movies.
If two threads equates to it being half the threads on PW though , than we have bigger problems. I do try and diversify the topics enough though that more people want to get involved. There will be some Marvel or comic related topics coming up which hopefully brings in more conversation as well.

I'll hold my hand up for some of the OT deadness but i'll also say that some threads lately seem heavy handed. The world ain't so damn dark, some light and airy threads wouldn't be out of place.

There's a place for light hearted content but there's also a time for people to realise that the world isn't so damn dark. Yes there are bad things going on but if you make that your sole focus, your world view could end up quite warped.

And I have not met any Ohioans who hate this state. All I see and hear is buckeye this and buckeye that....

Hey now... don't go an reappropriate New Jersey's "Armpit of America" nickname for Ohio. Ohio isn't bad per se. It's more like your special needs little cousin. At least that's how Western PA views the state. And honestly, I'd probably take Ohio over the eastern half of PA.

Yeah, NJ is definitely the armpit of America...so much so, that I have a cousin who has the outline of NJ (where she's from) tattooed in her armpit. Eastern PA has Philly and Philly is awesome, except for the sports fans.

It's irksome when people seem to be oblivious that bathroom etiquette demands you leave at least one urinal space, and you should be taking the farthest possible urinal from anybody else, then the two edges work their way inward, and once there's no more room left for the 1 urinal gap, you try for a stall...if you can't get a stall, then, and only then should you be taking the urinal next to me, but you should strongly consider pissing in the sink. We're not savages.

We're not savages. Once encountered a situation with 3 urinals. The middle was empty and despite the line... people only used the ends. It was awesome if a bit u unusual.
