I can play this game before I go make a couple of topics. I don't get how some people can have such a dark and dreary view of the world and then have that be a large focus. With everything going on in the world right now, why pile on, buck the trend, change the course of the train. Why fight the tide? Because if you don't swim against the tide, the current will just sweep you out to sea and swallow you up. If you swim against the tide for long enough and keep it up, the water goes slack then the tide starts coming in and gets you back to land.

Questioning where racism is and challenging the thought processes of racism and gender roles isn't apocalyptic. It seems to more buck the trend saying, hey, maybe the world isn't as racist as you thought, or hey, the way you think about something is wrong than just going with the flow. I am not upset but I disagree my threads tend to be dark or dreary. A bit heavy on thought sure. But I like to think deeply. I am totally up for hearing examples where people perceived darkness in my threads. I honestly don't feel that I was latching on to an end of the world.

Because if you don't swim against the tide, the current will just sweep you out to sea and swallow you up. If you swim against the tide for long enough and keep it up, the water goes slack then the tide starts coming in and gets you back to land. You've clearly never been caught in a riptide. Literally speaking, but it probably applies to figurative situations too. Swimming against the tide, even if you're a world class swimmer, is how you drown. If you don't wanna just go with the tide and let it carry you to wherever nature intends, you're best bet is to swim parallel to the shoreline/perpendicular to the tide (i.e., not against it).

In an ironic twist (wait, is it irony? Or is it just coincidence? I can never keep those two straight) the people who want us all to exert the effort to swim against the tide also don't want to put in the effort required to do deep thinking. Since I generally agree with you that your threads are about topics that not only encourage deep thinking but also meta levels of thinking in order to discuss hard/heated topics in a way that you don't misrepresent your own actual beliefs, I can see why to the "masses" either abstain or just chalk 'em up as dark and dreary and ignore them in a cover-my-ears-and-go-lalala kind of way.

I don’t get why people are hating on theend’s Threads. Keeping PW alive, rather than just lurking & not commenting like I normally do.
And expanding on the urinal thing, sitting directly next to/in front of someone when plenty of other seats are available. For example, I saw Godzilla with a friend, and were the only two people in the 300+ seat cinema. Two guys come in and sit directly in front of us. Wtf?

I don't come here to talk about depressing things like racism. I come here as an escape from the scrap going on in society...and chat anime/wrestling. That's why I would say dark and dreary. No matter how you dress it up or spin, racism is generally a depressing thing to talk about or deal with. And sadly I still have to suffer through it daily outside of here...so I don't want to discuss it here. --- When I make threads, no one cares so I don't really post unless it's wrestling news. No one here wants to hear about the good things in my life, so I leave it to Facebook.

Where did you get that impression specifically Mistress? I don't think anyone here is that mean-spirited or has done anything to give you that impression.
In saying that, I don't understand some of you Americans. There are days I wish I was American, but then I look at some of your customs and just shake my head. What's this Fahrenheit nonsense? Why do you guys have to invent this insane measure when celcius is so much easier to understand? Same goes for miles, yards and pounds. What is this nonsense? Did you guys go with pounds because it sounded more impressive to lose 10 pounds than 4.5 kilos? What's the go with fuel? Something about paying first and then having to hit that mark? What kind of backwards country is this?
I love you guys, you gave us Pro Wrestling and some of the greatest movies and tv shows of all-time. But there are times where it just feels like Americans have to be different.

But there are times where it just feels like Americans have to be different. I gotta admit, I've been coming around more and more lately on the metric thing (is Celsius metric?). I could be with you on the fuel thing, but I think it varies based on state, station and an individual's situation. What I really don't get about the American gas station situation is really only limited to New Jersey and Oregon: you're not allowed to pump your own has in those states. WTF is up with that!?

My thermostat is in C and its bullshit. What is 25 C? I have no idea. I am against the metric system simply because I am 30+ and too late to unlearn. Feet I understand. I have feet. That's relatable. Kilos? Ness is not a drug dealer.
Royale with cheese? Get the fuck outta here.

The gas situation is more confusion than anything. From what I've been told, you effectively type how many litres (or is it gallons?) you want and pay right then and there. You then pump it into the car and it's capped once you reach your limit? It just feels so unamerican. I thought you guys were the land of the free? You should be able to over-spend if you want!
Celsius is metric, yes. Apparently Americans measure some things in metrics but you still have this crazy out-dated model. Is it because the Poms told you to clean your room once and you kicked their arses for it?

It's supposedly 77 in your hypochondriac unit of measurement.
32 is beach weather in any part of the world. Americans are just boating with this triple figure nonsense.

And very rarely do I ever run into a gas pump that requires me to choose how much Inwamt before pumping, but I believe it is to prevent people from driving off without paying.

Yeah I see that, some outdated concept that you cling to with needless numbers.

Where did you get that impression specifically Mistress? I don't think anyone here is that mean-spirited or has done anything to give you that impression. I make threads and they barely get 3 replies, even going back to old PW. I don't think anyone here is mean spirited, they just don't care about my life. So, for me, making threads outside of wrestling threads is a waste if I can't really generate some discussion. Like Ness I refuse to unlearn what I was taught and learn the metric system. Besides, my cellphone is always with me and I have a metric converter if needed.

We need to come up with a metric system for time. Fix all those errors and yucky numbers. Leap years my ass.
Days and and maybe years seem to be the less arbitrary measures. Months, weeks, hours, minutes, seconds... Totally arbitrary.
We need some milodays, centidays, decidays, days, kilodays, etc.

Instead of 12 hours there were 10 on it. Made it slightly obnoxious to figure out when school would be over.

I don’t get thermostats, and why they are such a huge thing in the US? Countless comedies always have a bit about someone slightly adjusting the thermostat and the person going insane about it..
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one in my life, including the two weeks I was in NYC.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen one in my life, including the two weeks I was in NYC. I'm naive but I'd be curious to see how everyone else controls their heat? At least when they are sleeping or away on vacation of something. I don't freak out about where the thermostat is set , unless it's summer and someone changes it to like 60 or something. Mines usually set at 68 no matter the time of year.

Overusing AC in the summer and excess heat in the winter drives the bill up. That's probably why the people go insane. I guess outside of America that stuff is free.

In Scotland, we obviously use Celsius, but we also use stones and pounds for weight and miles for distance. So from growing up with them, I have an intuitive feel for those units and not for Fahrenheit, kg or km. When I read that it is 98F somewhere in the States, I have no feel for that at all and I can't be arsed learning conversions. When I see that a tennis serve was 140 km/h, I don't have a feel for that like I do 120 mph. We should absolutely change to km and kg as standard. It is too late for me, but that should not stop them changing it for future generations.

I don't get why people make such a fuss about how people leave the toilet seat. I guess I'll be more specific - females complaining about males leaving the toilet seat up, because in my experience this is the only situation in which this happens. It takes less than a second and a tiny amount of physical effort to put the toilet seat down. The typical response is "if it's so easy, why don't you do it?". My response to that is "I could do it, but you can also do it without making a big fucking deal out of it like I forgot to take out the trash or clean the bathroom. It's easy, but sometimes I forget, and it's not difficult for you to correct the mistake".

Women ALWAYS sit to use the restroom, so they automatically sit on the toilet. If the seat isn't down... they fall into the water. Hence the complaint. Yeah they should look, but [misogynistic remark has been removed]. Most guys have figured out the solution. If a lady complains about the seat being up, from that moment on he puts BOTH the seat and the lid down. Now she still has to do work, but can't complain because you put the seat down.

I don't normally watch network news. I usually get all my news from friends on social media or google news. But when I am at the gym they have Fox News on. They report on what CNN is or isn't reporting on. I don't get it. You're a news network. Who care's what the other guy is doing. I feel it would be better off to just not even mention the other network like how WWE doesn't mention their competition.
