Yikes Matty Ice would want those two passes back - overthrew two TDs in a row. Injuries piling up for the Falcons too, their second rookie lineman carted off now.

wtf Mahomes is even better this year? Somewhere in there the Chiefs seemed to realize the Raiders rush couldn’t get there and so Pat had time to let the longer routes develop and then it was just over. The 74 yarder to Hardman that got called back was my favorite.

Well that was nice of Carson to give Ryan another chance. Eagles are double teaming Julio giving Ridley and Hardy the chance to stretch the field.

We'll see if he's back in the game after half time but a rough day for the quarterbacks with Wentz injured now to go along with Brees and Roethlisberger. Was playing pretty terribly even before that though.

The 74 yarder to Hardman that got called back was my favorite. I’m glad you liked it. It was 72 yard* reception and a TD that would’ve been 14.2 points for me and I faced New England D and they got 37.... -_-

They should have left McCown in, he might have scored a touchdown there. Instead Wentz comes back in, nearly gets Agholor killed and they settle for a FG.
6/16, 47 yards and two interceptions - not good!

Yeah Wentz is having a shit game and now he’s playing hurt. Just let him sit and see what happens.
Now that I’ve said that he’s going to throw 4 TDs in the 2nd half.

Not a good night for either QB. Back to back picks for Ryan now, too slow getting the ball out on a cover 0 blitz and then a terrible floater into triple coverage in the end zone.

Philly showing Carolina that it is actually a good idea to use your big QB to sneak the ball over the goalline.
Time for Ryan to man up. He should have put this game away when he had the chance.

Oh baby what a block by Jake Matthews. Great play call to spring Jones who was getting mugged by some really tight coverage by Douglas.
Still plenty of time for Philly to answer back though.

That was a great tackle to stop Ertz getting anything after the catch. A good, if sloppy game. A lot of people had Philly pegged as NFC champions but Dallas look like a far better team after two weeks. Eagles will have to hope that truck load of injuries they suffered tonight aren't too serious otherwise it could have been a very costly night losing D-Jax and Jeffrey, plus Wentz, Ertz and Peters all getting banged up.

What a fun and interesting game for the Packers yesterday , the offense came out early and proved what it is capable of down the road while they continue to work on things , but overall it was a decent performance and we FINALLY got to see Jones get 20 carries in a game for the first time in his career and he still averaged over 5 yards a carry. The offense still needs to grow outside of that and had two drives cost us points with stupid mistakes but I felt encouraged seeing the potential.
The defense played a great 55 minutes. The Dalvin Cook run was what it was and we took some bad angles in the secondary but aside from that I thought the defense did a decent job of holding him in check. The Diggs touchdown was less than an inch away from being an interception and probably could have been stopped with more awareness from #23 but whatever - the Vikings have some weapons and we held them in check for most of the day. Cousins played like shit but out secondary stepped up as well - Kings interception in the endzone was awesome and the 2nd week in a row we sealed a game like that. Shit that just didn't happen in years past. I love this defense , I love winning games where the defense has to step up and I love their personality. Something special is being built that should only get better.
Overall 2-0 in the division is a huge start to the season. I'm ready to see where this team can go moving forward. I don't think we reach our full potential until October so winning these September games is huge.

Disclaimer: This thread is getting hijacked by yours truly tonight over my team's weekly hijinks. The same old borderline bipolar, reactionary me so expect this thread to shoot up to potentially 6 pages by evening's end. With Checkdown Simien, our garbage cornerbacks and a wounded MLB core that will see a 5th rounder Blake "Brian" Cashman lead the way, this is going to be a doozy. Makings of a fun night or a night I hit the proverbial bottle early and let out my wrath.

Brees out up to 6 weeks, that changes this division mightily IMO. Bucs got a shot. So letdown watching Bridgewater play yesterday, missed such easy throws and he's been in that offense for over a year now. Maybe the backup not getting the practice week reps hurt him but he missed such simple check reads and overthrew his targets. Wondering if T. Hill gets a start or two once/if Teddy fizzles out.

People laying into Teddy yesterday and now this morning need to lay off a bit , I've never been a supporter of his and don't think he's that good but anytime in THAT situation players are going to struggle. Coming in cold , on the road against probably the best team in the NFC - what fucking quarterback is going to succeed doing that? It's an impossible situation.

Big Ben is out for the season with elbow surgery.
Brees is concerned with thumb injury, and at least definitely out next week.
Eli is toast.
Getting rough for aging veterans.

I never wish injury on someone but for me NFL is getting stale being dominated by the same 40 year old quarterbacks I'm ready for the new generation to take it over.

The new generation has spoken , especially early this year. Well Mahomes last year , but Watson has his chance to shine and really take it to another level this year , Lamar Jackson has beaten up on bad defenses and at least lit the stat sheets up. Goff has shown some moments , Kyler Murray is a joy to watch when he's on so far.
The problem is that these guys really need to actually step up. The only two I have complete faith in right now is Mahomes and Watson and Watson is a distant second in that conversation. There are also too many bad or questionable quarterbacks coming up that need time and Darnold needs to stop making out with college sophomores.

I thought about doing this going into the week , maybe for the OP but figured that was putting the cart before the horse but I wanted to reign some praise on my defense and a bunch of these guys who aren't household names but I think a ton could be by the end of the year.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN , YOUR 2019 GREEN BAY PACKERS DEFENDERS
Jaire Alexander , Cornerback , #23 - I loved him from the word go last year and said he added something to the defense that we hadn't had in years , swag. The kid if as confident as anyone I've seen in Green Bay on defense since Woodson and his play on the field speaks for itself. He is a budding "shutdown corner" and a leader of this defense.
Kenny Clark , Defensive Tackle , #97 - My and @admit talked him up at points last year and the dude is a beast in the middle and one of the most unheralded great players in the NFL. He's going to get paid soon and the Packers need to do all they can to keep him as he is the anchor of the middle of this defense.
Preston Smith , OLB , #91 - Had an interception against the Vikings but the guy isn't going to always be about the splash plays. He is the anti Clay Matthews so I automatically love him. Not as explosive but he does everything right from rushing with contain and setting the edge. Just awesome to see someone play defense intelligently unlike the former #52.
Darnell Savage , S , #26 - Only two games into his rookie year and I'm sold on him like I was Alexander last year. He has swag but he's also so fucking smart and instinctive. Had a great game against Chicago and was the reason for Smith's interception against Minnesota after being in perfect position.
Kevin King , CB , #20 - Essentially our first round pick a few years ago he also showed promise but is super injury prone. When healthy he is the perfect compliment to Alexander considering he stands 6'3" and can move. The difference between our defense being good and great lies in Kings health.
Adrian Amos , S , #31 - Kind of like the Preston Smith of the secondary. Not super flash but super smart and knows the positioning and how to get guys lined up and where to always be on defense. The perfect complimentary starter of a potentially awesome defense.
Blake Martinez , LB , #50 - One of the few brights spots of our defense over the past few years. Stanford graduate who's incredible smart and instinctive and a tackling machine. Never going to be an All Pro player but someone you can be happy with as your starter for a decade plus. I like Martinez as B+ linebacker.
Zadarius Smith , LB , #55 - Had a monster game against the Bears rushing from inside and outside. Had a lesser game against the Vikings but his impact was still there on pressures and disrupting the line.
Those are the ones I choose to highlight for now , but this defense is also pretty deep. Lowry is as solid as they come as a poor mans Justin Smith , Adams has taken huge leaps after being a potential cut candidate as a rookie. Rashan Gary is talented as anyone on the team but hasn't needed to see the field much and Tony Brown is a scrappy as shit defender that makes some great plays and follows them with some boneheaded ones. I love these guys , the personality , the team work , the fact we seem to be 85% smarter than seasons in the past. I'm sure there will be a few hiccups along the way but if healthy this can be a top five defense because of the chemistry they are already developing.
Lets go Packers! I needed to be indulgent on the defense for once.

My prediction for tonight’s game goes like this; Browns score first. Either first or second play of their drive with a 75 yard TD to OBJ. The Browns are fired up by this and defensively they force the Jets into a 3 and out following that. The next drive the Browns revenge continues. Baker leads a methodical drive down field that ends with OBJ making a huge 3rd and 10 catch for 15 yards and is followed a few plays later with a TD to Landry. Now OBJ got his on Greg and Landry got his on Gase. The Browns lead 17-3 at halftime as the Jets manage to get into FG range right before the half to get on the score board. The second half comes and the Browns really put the work on the Jets as OBJ continues his career day. They score 3 more TDS in the second half and the Jets get in the end zone once with Bell taking a dump off pass 15 yards to the house in garbage time. The Browns win this game 38-10. Baker throws for 4 TDS. Landry has 1 of them. OBJ has 3 of them and Chubb runs one in as well. OBJ goes 11/270/3. Baker throws for 400 yards. Siemian throws for 215 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. Bell has 115 all purpose yards and a TD. Blindy goes nuts as the season feels like a lost one already.
