So I got tickets to the Jets/Canucks game next month, not the greatest seats but whatever, I can cross off seeing the Canucks play in person from my bucket list now.

The Oilers are a crazy fast team. Overwhelmed the Rangers last night.
Outdoor game in Texas today.

2nd largest crowd ever for a hockey game. Expecting over 85,000 at the game.
When I heard that Dallas was getting this game, I thought it'd be crazy to pull that kind of number.

They showed video of the crew preparing the ice after it was pouring rain. It ruined the ice to the point that all the paint was gone. They had to start over again. Not sure why they did not construct a make shift roof or tarp like on a baseball field to protect the surface.

Apparently 20,000 fans from Nashville attended the game. I believe it. We watched the game for two reasons: 1) I love the Winter Classic and 2) my son loves Nashville because his favourite colour is yellow. When Nashville went up 2-0 I’m convinced it was louder in their than it was the rest of the night.

Tomorrow's Tampa Bay Lightning/Vancouver Canucks game should be a good one, as both teams are on a seven game winning streak. I'm hoping the Canucks make it eight in a row, and end the Lightnings winning ways.

Shesterkin made his NHL debut last night. Definitely looks like he can develop into a very good goalie. Rangers were down early, but were all over the Avalanche for the rest of the game.
However, I don't really know what the Rangers plan to do with three goalies. Georgiev has been struggling recently, but would be exposed to waivers if sent down. Lundqvist has that NMC. I guess they could send Shesterkin back down, but then why bring him up? I hope the Rangers do not trade Georgiev. I was hoping Georgiev and Shesterkin would lead the Rangers in net in 2021-22. Also, how many games will Shesterkin play? I think it is best to keep him in the AHL, and start the majority of the games. It is also important to be apart of a winning successful team, which the AHL team is, and the NHL team is not. Additionally, he has had a fantastic win loss record since the KHL. Piling losses in the NHL might ruin his confidence.
Gotta love the fantastic NBC announcing crew. Lindgren left the game early with an injury after a fight, and the NBC superstars stated the Rangers would have to play with 5 defensemen for the rest of the game. Rangers play with 7 defensemen. Brendan Smith plays wing on the 4th line (and defense on the penalty kill). Can easily move back to defense for 5 on 5. It took NBC a couple of minutes into the third period to state that. Thanks Pierre.

The Rangers didn’t plan ahead in goal and are going to have to trade Georgiev or gamble on Seshterwhatever paying off as a starter. I think trading Georgiev will be ok though. Send him to a team that has a part you need and then hope you draft well, or look for a goalie prospect that you can mould.
Goalies are weird though. Something will just click and they’ll be awesome, or they’ll look promising and then shit the bed one night and never be the same again. There’s so much mental shit that goes with goaltending, I don’t envy any of them.

I would have waited until Lundqvist's contract is over then go with Georgiev and Shesterkin as a 1 and 1A. I thought that was their plan with the length of Lundqvist's contract remaining.
No need to bring up a top prospect to play on a borderline .500 team with two capable goaltenders. This seemed like a panic move.

God damn Leafs can’t figure out their defence, and now Andersen is having a rough go. Two losses in a row and Tampa has taken 2nd place. Booooo.
Fortunately Matthews went god mode tonight and we stole a point, but fucking hell. We need Muzzin back and for Rielly and Barrie to fucking figure it out already.
I’ll bet my house that Sandin is in the line up after the All Star break.

Yeah, so the Canucks lost that game, but it's whatever, I had a blast... besides, I got to spend pretty much six hours (dinner and the game), hanging out with the coolest chick I know, so totally worth the lose.

Wow. I'm shocked to hear that the Knights fired Gerard Gallant today. Vegas isn't a bad team, and they're still in a playoff spot. Not to mention that he led the team to the Cup Final in the FIRST YEAR!
Wonder what happened? Was it a cultural problem? Did he gamble away the team's money on the strip? What happened?

I’ll bet my house that Sandin is in the line up after the All Star break. Well it was 3 games before the break so I was close, and it only happened because Rielly broke his foot. Terrible news but Rielly also finally admitted to playing hurt like everyone was speculating. Now he can at least get some rest and hopefully be better when he comes back in March. Sandin looked awesome and got two assists. You love to see it. Muzzin is skating now too, which means he could be back after the all star game. Hoping that the 3 losses in a row was just a blip and these guys buckle down for the rest of the season. Nobody is getting into the playoffs easy this year. Except maybe Washington. Boston is even having trouble holding first place after their crazy good start.

Georgiev won back to back starts against the Islanders. Allowed two goals each in his last three starts. His numbers are inflated because of a couple of games.
I think it will be a huge mistake to trade Georgiev. Bring Shesterkin back down to the AHL. He is on a two way contract. I think the Rangers are afraid that Igor will go back to the KHL if he stays in the minors. They do know that Igor obviously agreed to come here knowing he would be in the minors otherwise wouldn't he stay in the KHL?
Look this is where the words communication and conversation go into effect. Have a serious conversation with him and let him know what the plans are. You and Georgiev are our guys once Lundqvist's contract is done (one more season). The AHL team is having a great season. Let him get used to professional North American hockey by playing every game instead of starting two then off four. I don't think any three of them want to sit and sometimes be away from the team as a healthy scratch. This is an unnecessary problem.

Rangers are definitely climbing as the Islanders begin to falter.
I’ve been following hockey a lot more then usual since I’ve become an avid gambler but I have noticed that even though Boston seems to be the best team in the NHL right now, a lot of great teams are not looking too good post All Star Break. Mainly the Capitals.
Teams like TB and Pitt can make noise but I feel like Boston is the only one that has the best bounce back mentality.
PS- newbie to hockey.

Islander fans will probably like this. But next season, they're gonna be playing all their home games at Nassau Coliseum.

Kreider got his ridiculous contract, and is now hurt. Shocker. Islander fans will probably like this. But next season, they're gonna be playing all their home games at Nassau Coliseum. And, the the play-offs this season. It is a no brainer. Completely different atmosphere at both arena's.

It was expected. He'll go down as the most popular Jet of all time because he was just so damn entertaining to watch. There's going to be nobody like him ever again. 6'5, 270 pound agile beast on skates. Love Big Buff!

Gary Bettman says the NHL has a potential solution in place to finish the season. They want to use 4 NHL arenas, and have 3 games in each, each day. He also talked about still have the entry draft in June, before resuming the season. How that works in regards to conditional draft picks and the lottery, I have no idea. Then there would be a 3 week training camp before resuming the season. Obviously in front of no fans.

While the idea of having tons of hockey to watch in the summer gets me hard, I just don’t see it happening. Keeping hundreds of players and their families isolated for months is one thing, but think about the playoffs being half way over and players testing positive. What then?
