I don’t need to see Dallas/NYG to give out thoughts. Unless Dallas somehow loses, then these are my thoughts for the week.
1- I want to start with the good shit. Super duper MASSIVE RESPECT for Lamar Jackson. This dude was fucking phenomenal tonight and on Primetime! This dude silenced a great day for Russell Wilson.
2- Speaking of; Lamar, Russell, CMC are the race for MVP now. Rodgers had another blah game so he’s out. Watson didn’t have to do much to win but he definitely fell to 4. I’m still going with CMC unless Lamar becomes the first QB to run for over 1000 yards in a season. Just an insane season by both of these guys and what Wilson is able to do with guys like Lockett and Metcalf is just so admirable. I really didn’t think Seattle would be this good but this dudes magnificent.
3- New England got exposed. They are not a Super Bowl favorite for me anymore. I don’t even think they make it. Yes, I’m a very big “what have you done for me lately” kind of guy and Baltimore and KC are definitely teams that can knock the Patriots off.
4- A two in one special for me, but Kitchens AND Gase must go. This was the get right game for both teams and they both fucking lost. Baker couldn’t do shit in the red zone and Darnold just doesn’t look like the future right now. That “ghosts” thing is a career killer. It’s a shame. The Browns lost to a rookie QB and the Jets lost to a winless team. These teams have stars like OBJ and Bell on them and they lost to absolute scrubs. Shame on them.
5- Mike Tomlin deserves respect! Minkah Fitzpatrick is a stud like I expected him to be and yes Vinateri missed a game winner, but the Steelers are 4-4 WITHOUT Ben, AB and Bell! That shit is insane. Juju isn’t even playing good. James Conner is injured. How the fuck they got here is unbelievable and you have to give props to Tomlin and a monster contract extension. Give him 10 years. Dude deserves it.
6- See what happens when you rush someone back?! Look at Thielen. Reaggrevating his injury and he should be sitting out until after their BYE. Minnesota is in trouble. This was a game they should’ve won and didn’t. Fortunately for them (and GB who shit the bed) all NFC North teams lost. Speaking of; Mitch Trubisky is fucking embarrassing! He should be ashamed of himself. He’s fucking awful and they’re wasting an elite defense with this bum at QB. And Detroit should sign Jay Ajayi because without a running game, they’re not winning much. A loss to Oakland is debilitating to their season. Now we get to see Bears vs Lions in a season ender for one of the two teams.
7- Poor Indianapolis. Can’t catch a break. Sorry jTjohncenaGOAT. First Luck, then TY and now Brisset. I don’t know what to think, but fortunately for them even with Hoyer, they should beat Miami next week. Give Mack the ball more.
8- The Chargers are back! At the expense of UT, the Chargers made noise with a new OC. Now they get the Raiders on Thursday and that game should be a blast. I got Rivers, Melvin (welcome back!), Jacobs and Waller all in that game. May there be many fantasy points in this one. A huge game for both teams as they fight for a playoff spot.
9- Bruce Arians should’ve went for 2. I know it sounds crazy but you’re 2-5 and you score with under a minute to go against Russell Wilson who you can NOT stop. Why not go for the win? Smh. It doesn’t matter anyways. This teams done and Godwin/Evans are performing like a historic WR duo. Wasted due to a terrible secondary and an inconsistent QB.
10- San Francisco is the last team standing. It ends next week when they face off with Seattle in the GOTW. I repeat this every week but the NFC is a fucking beast division this year. It’s so stacked. I love watching all these teams play. SF, SEA, GB, NO, Dallas, Philly, Minny, Carolina and the Rams. It’s so fucking stacked and it’s going to be a dog fight in the playoffs. So unpredictable. Can’t wait for that shit.
Lamar Jackson is completely turning conventional wisdom on it's head. Most running qb's you study their film over the summer and they get shut down the next season. Well the coaches had plenty of film to study of Jackson's and they still can't stop his running. If anything it's gotten BETTER.
“I’m sorry but it gotta be said!” Roberts wrote, via the New York Post. “All y’all fake ass fans f—in kill me wit dat negative s—, if u gon rock wit us then rock wit us but if u ain’t shut tf [the f—] up please & go like another team! And another thing y’all need to stop @’n players talkin crazy becaus y’all known dam well you wouldn’t buss a dam grape in a fruit fight! Ok i’m done have a nice day!”
Keep in mind that Daryl Roberts the cornerback who could not stop a cold said this. The same guy who made Preston Williams a nice young WR yes look like prime Larry Fitzgerald out there. Same guy who has absolute zero awareness and low football IQ. Same guy who McCagnan seriously thought would start this year as the 2nd CB on the team. Same guy that Davante fucking Parker tore up and began barking at every single catch. And I can't even understand what he is saying in this quote. Maybe someone can translate this for me but if it is what I think it is, how you call someone a fake fan for stating the obvious?
This isn't as bad as a Browns safety threatening to kill a fan after they lost yesterday but nevertheless.
Meh. It's not in good character but I'm assuming fans getting on Twitter talking shit or even talking about fighting these players gets a little fucking old after awhile. The biggest dickheads are the ones who constantly rag on players , especially on social media and take personal shots and then cry when they get a negative response. Fucking losers. Actually that applies to all celebrities.
I don't tweet athletes or celebs because that's just weird but I would love if Jarrett Bush or someone told me to shut the fuck up , and I'd deserve it. Clay Matthews would pull a hamstring tweeting at me though so I ain't gotta worry about that.
Blindy- The Browns cut that safety, Whitehead. Dude went off on twitter calling people crackers and threatening lives. He comes off of the Packers practice squad (UT what you got going on out there?!) and dude posted the Browns address to anyone who wants to fight him Lmao. What a weirdo.
After a while to sit back and think about the game yesterday , I'm not even that mad that we lost. It was kind of a throw away game where everything went wrong from the start and the team clearly was not feeling it - I don't know why. I don't know if it was the travel schedule or what but that was one of the most uninspired performances I can remember seeing from the start... it was a game we didn't get up for.
Offensively we lost any creativity too and seemed TOO focused on trying to get Davante the ball and everything we were doing up to that point creativity wise was gone. I get that he's a star and a stud but LeFleur is going to have to do a better job of putting him into the offense as opposed to running different offenses to get him involved.
Just a weird fucking game. Even Alexander played bad and seemed complacent out there and HE never does that.
I will say too though that Pettine needs to get better at schemes and adjustments. He sits on his hands far too often early in games and yesterday it wore our defense the fuck down so we didn't stand a chance in the 4th quarter of getting the ball back once the offense showed some signs of life.
To be fair, Aaron Rodgers didn’t have much time to throw the ball. The running game never got going. All he had was those short intermediate routes to Adams. Even long passes he made were slightly overthrown. The Chargers has a lot more to play for and played like their season depended on it. It was definitely not winnable for GB when they couldn’t run the ball.
They held the Chargers to 3 FGs to start the game and could’ve won it but never got into a flow thanks to a great defensive performance by the Bolts.
I don’t know what to think about tonight’s game. It’s definitely a game Dallas could lose because they are the Cowboys but they’ll probably win by double digits.
I had a bad pickem week so I guess it’s good I’m going to the casino next week and didn’t go this week lol.
Not only did the Dolphins lose their stranglehold of the top pick in the next draft, but they’ll now be without Preston Williams for a few weeks due to an injury AND starting RB Mark Walton has been suspended for 4 games for failing a drug test.
Prescott just had a masterful drive man. What a busted coverage on Cooper who left him so damn open down the field like that?
After a good first quarter Leo Williams lack of cardio has caught up to him which is his major problem. He has been completely invisible past two and half quarters.he has to get in better shape. He came in with all the energy of a new team and lost himself after that initial momentum.
I have no idea who his trainer is but he should get a new one because it's not the first time I've seen him get gobbled up as the game progresses.
Giants are a little better now than they were 12 months ago but they're not going to be a winning team until they get better OT play, and find someone who can rush the passer.
I was pleasantly surprised to see some creative playcalling from Shurmur early in the game with some good option and motion plays but that completely dried up in the second half unfortunately. The number one requirement for his replacement is someone who can utilise Saquon properly. Watching him get stuffed at the line over and over and not being exploited in the passing game is infuriating.
Weirdest stat I’ve seen this year for the Chiefs, through nine games the Chiefs have the 11th highest defensive DVOA, an impressive fourth in passing defense. Is this just because teams don’t have to pass against them and their 28th ranked run d? Who knows?
