Didn't consider it for my list, but Curse of the Black Pearl is excellent. The best of the series. The two sequels weren't terrible, actually they were very good, but there was a gradual decline in quality. The fourth movie, At Stranger Tides, was forgettable, and I gave up on the series after that.

I thought PotC was great once and way too long every other time I watched it.

I had Notebook on my list too KING KID AND The Hangover. Training Day just missed my list. It's one of those movies that ended and I sat there and went 'huh', unsure whether I liked it or not, so I watched it again a couple days later and loved it. I still prefer Man on Fire, but Training Day is a side of Denzel we had yet to see. I had Pirates on my list and why not?! The start of a successful franchise, I don't there I disliked any of them. Maybe not Oscar caliber but who cares. Fun, action and romance! It's Star Wars on the ocean.

sandylea , Pirates was my number 1 too, so I guess I'm to blame for it being this high in the countdown. But I don't care, I absolutely love the Pirates series and this was the perfect mix of action, humour and adventure. Oh and it also has the best character introduction anywhere in Jack Sparrow - who I also think is one of the greatest movie characters ever (but I'm biased as I love POTC). So I'm not sorry at all for getting it this high in the countdown.

PotC made my list at #8. It's an incredible movie that still totally holds up. It's everything you want from a live-action Disney pirate adventure. What isn't to love?
The rest of the franchise is meh, unfortunately. Dead Man's Chest is okay, but the best part is the ending when Barbossa shows up. Then Barbossa carries the 3rd movie, but by that point they had gone all in on The Jack Sparrow Show and I just gave up on it.

Still nada from me, but CotBP was amazing, really a special film in a just okay franchise (none of the sequels were close).

Still nada from me, but CotBP was amazing, really a special film in a just okay franchise (none of the sequels were close). I know when you strike gold with a big production like that, you have to make more movies, but I really wish they realized what they had and didn’t overdo it with Jack Sparrow becoming the main focus of the movies. That was what killed them, I think. If I had it my way I would have made the 3rd movie more about Will going full-pirate. It would have been cool to see after spending the entire 2nd movie learning about his roots and him dealing with it. Do something like Will starting to turn heel, debating on if he should even bother rescuing Jack. Elizabeth tried to pull him back to being good, but the crew starts to take his side, realizing Jack only ever gets them into trouble. But then Barbossa completes his face turn and convinces Jack that would be bad karma or whatever. Anyway, rescuing Jack immediately and then spending the rest of the movie focused on Johnny Depp overacting was brutal. Especially after how good the opening was (pretty sure that was the one with the hanged prisoners singing in the fog. That was SO COOL).

This countdown is dragging on so much, I forgot Step Brothers popped up here. Wasn't there some cross pollunation in two or three other countdowns? Like how dare you hate my mediocre comedy when you like that brain dead comedy Step Brothers? Or am I just projecting? Because I've got no beef with SB for the record.
Alright, Step Brothers is out. Does that mean Anchorman comes into take it's place?

Got to be some kind of upset with this only being at #4 given it's history of winning countdowns. Great movie , talked about it a ton. GOAT supporting performance by Wahlberg still.

YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING AWFUL!
I know this was done spitefully towards me. I know it. People had it much higher on the list, but were like 'you know what, fuck Kid.' Or 'This wins too much, let me drop it a few spots so Eternal Sunshine and LOTR can get more love.' Unbelievable.
Clearly the greatest movie to ever be made. My personal #1 movie of all time (spoiler alert, go ahead fuck me on that list too.) But really?! #4?! To what? Lord Of The Rings?! Dark Knight AKA best part of the movie is Heath Ledger?! You guys are just fucking around now. No legitimacy to peoples lists. You're going to tell me a movie about hobbits and elves or whatever the fuck they got in LOTR deserves a top 3 spot but this doesn't? This is easily the #1 (AT WORSSSSSSSSSST #2 to Dark Knight because of nerdz) movie of the decade.
Unbelievable.
Disrespectful.
SHAMEFUL!
Enjoy your hard ons for LOTRx3. I fucking hope it wins just to piss everyone off.
#4 LMAO! Training Day is better then LOTR. Whatever. This was purposely done.

I watched it, and while I love the cast I was pretty bored by it and didn’t pay much attention. I really want to rewatch it and give it my full attention as I think I was doing uni work at the time.
This definitely wasn’t on my list, I remember the death being shocking otherwise forgot everything that happens in it.

Biggest strike against The Departed is Jack, IMO. Wonder had it been someone less hammy in that role if the movie would've overall inched closer toward perfection? Was the guy playing Jack's role in the original Japanese (or Korean?) version just as hammy? I feel like Ray Liotta could've killed it in Jack's role, with just the right amount of sadistic killer's edginess. Instead, with Jack, I just kept getting As Good As It Gets vibes. EDIT: Still bodyslam-ing, by the way. At this point, I'm actually hoping I go the whole way with a complete shutout. Might be a first for me!

It’s Top Three for me with Wolf of Wallstreet and Goodfellas.
Raging Bull and Taxi Driver are beloved but I’ll watch Departed 25 more times before I ever go back to them.

The Departed is good, but HIGHLY overrated by PW. It's not even top 5 Scorsese for me. Highly overrated how? It's #4 on the greatest movies of the decade list when it is deserving #1 or like I said, at worst #2. Explain to me what is overrated about this movie? Every scene is epic. Fantastic character devolpment. Excellent story with Damon being the good guy but actually being the bad guy. Vice versa with DiCaprio. Leo absolutely SMASHES it in this film. Matt Damon plays puppet as good as anyone can play puppet. Wahlberg gets all the love, but he is the most 'overrated' part of the movie. Everyone loves him because he curses a lot, but then disrespects Nicholson because he's too 'crazy'. I don't understand. Plus. Damon/Leo also banging the same woman is pretty fucking awesome storytelling especially with her being Leo's psychiatrist and Damons girl. Just excellent storytelling with two unbelievable SHOCK bombs at the end. NEXT.
