Watched it. Didn’t care for it. Would rather watch Lord of the Rings. You also think John Cena is the greatest thing in the world. I guess The Departed was too 'violent' for your PG feelings. NEXT.

It’s Top Three for me with Wolf of Wallstreet and Goodfellas. Raging Bull and Taxi Driver are beloved but I’ll watch Departed 25 more times before I ever go back to them. Agree with this overall take, I think. My personal order goes: WoWS, G's, tD. Can't wait to read this KING KID post!

I watched it, and while I love the cast I was pretty bored by it and didn’t pay much attention. I really want to rewatch it and give it my full attention as I think I was doing uni work at the time. This definitely wasn’t on my list, I remember the death being shocking otherwise forgot everything that happens in it. Not sure how to handle this considering: A- You're a chick. B- You're the chick of System. C- You were probably too busy making out with System during the movie to pay enough attention to understand the awesomeness that was happening on the screen. D- If not choice C, then you were probably too mesmerized by System to take your eyes off of him to watch the actual awesomeness that was happening on the screen. NEXT.

The Departed is good, but HIGHLY overrated by PW. It's not even top 5 Scorsese for me. Wait, back to you. Top 5 Scorcese films? 1- DEPARTED 2- GOODFELLAS 3- WOLF OF WALL STREET 4- AVIATOR 5- MEAN STREETS

Top 5 for me would be Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Gangs of New York, Taxi Driver, and The Wolf of Wall Street. You and your random comments. You're wrong. Enough about Taxi Driver. Unbearable to rewatch. Barely got through it the first time.

Jack Nicholson was AWESOME in his role. IDGAF what anyone says. Ray Liotta hasn't done shit since Goodfellas. He could never take that spot from Nicholson.

That's what people said re: Joker/Jack/Heath. Also, ask theend -- I think Ray might have more chops than you're giving him credit for.

Ray is awesome , I don’t know how he does in that role. He can be ham as hell too - I tried watching that Shades of Blue show but he wasn’t that enjoyable in it.
Jack is a mark against the movie , I don’t think it’s bad but I do think something different could have elevated the entire story. He makes it more memorable for sure so is that a plus or minus for the movie? Who knows? I change my mind on it.
Gun to my head I watch Departed the most BUT I think Goodfellas is a perfect movie. WoWS is still too new to me to rank it any higher than third.
Goodfellas has Pesci but Departed has Wahlberg.
It’s tough. I love them both. Gun to head Id probably go Goodfellas because literally nothing feels off and the way it crescendos is perfection.

Surely other ideas would be interesting to consider too. Maybe Daniel Day Lewis? Reunite the GoNY duo! Pesci's role in G's > Wahlberg's role in in tD. I'd say Leo's role in tD > than Ray's role in G's, but Deniro's role in G's > Damon's role in tD. Shit... got distracted while writing this post. Fucking work! Now I forget what my point was...

I don’t know , Wahlberg is a lot closer that most people would give it for me. I’d watch a whole movie about Dignam.
But talking about Pesci , why not just have Pesci is the Nicholson role? Fucking really go for it.
I’d also say Liota is on par with Leo in these singular movies. It’s hard to say one is better when they are both pretty perfect in the roles.

I only put Pesci readily over Wahlberg because of the amount of screen time. Pesci got a lot of deserved screen time in Goodfellas. Dignam, for as awesome as he was, didn't. And to your point, I'd so watch a whole movie or even TV series about Dignam.

Well technically Joe Pesci was retired, no? He only came out for The Irishman probably as a farewell and a thank you to Scorcese and to really go out with a bang co-starring with Pacino and DeNiro.

So just remember how much you love me KING KID. I have never seen The Departed. I am sure I will at some point but I loathe Leo (like irrationally so), so whenever I actually get down to watching one of his films I really have to make sure I am in a good mind set so I can put aside my feelings for him and give the movie a fighting chance. Usually movies of his I enjoy are ones where there is a great cast so maybe this would do well for me. My #1 was Love Actually and you can all suck it because a) I'm a chick b) that movie was awesome c) LOVE

The lack of Casino on these Scorsese lists is a bit of a shock. Sure it follows a formula, but it works.
The Departed was Scorsese's mercy Oscar, meh, not in my top 5.
1. Goodfellas 2. Raging Bull 3. Taxi Driver 4. Casino 5. The Wolf Of Wall Street
