rad hopefully you can get some time away and soon! That is positive news that your mom is mostly well after a car crash. I broke my collarbone playing hockey many many years ago. All they did was put my arm in a sling and told me to be careful. Just had to wait out the healing game.

I broke mine as well trying to execute a DDT on my best friend, somehow - the beginning and end of my wrestling career in five stupid seconds. Trying to put a shirt on was a sport in and of itself lol

My mom got in a car crash a week ago and broke her collar bone. Just thankful she's still with us & healing. My girlfriend is a rock star for how much she's been there to help her and my dad while I'm working. ...But every one in this house needs a vacation, asap. There is no chill between these four walls right now lol. Extended family exists in that tiny gap between loving someone unconditionally and suffocating homicidal rage.

I'm think I'm just about to stop taking Ozempic. First, after 10 weeks, I have yet to see any results. Secondly, I'm fairly certain it caused my kidney stones a couple weeks ago as I've been told it's pretty hard on them. Now, as of 36 hours ago I've been experiencing consistent 'sulphur burps' (which is most disgusting) and nothing is helping it. Again, I am told these are common side effects. I'm just not sure it's worth the $236/m and aggravation.

Update: The surgery was successful. Still in pain but she's slowly getting there. It's been a nice lesson in not taking life for granted. Taking her and my dad out this weekend to get out of the house and finally go touch some grass (myself very much included lol)

Great news rad, the down side is that as your parents get older, this becomes a more frequent occurence.

Great news rad, the down side is that as your parents get older, this becomes a more frequent occurence. That realization has been one of the main sources of this existential dread lately. Keep reminding myself to just be patient, listen more, and most of all, savor all these moments. I don't want to regret lost time with them like I do with my grandparents because I was a self-absorbed teen who just wanted to party. Plus I'm 34 now, I'm only a few years, 20 pounds and a grill away from buying me some New Balance's anyways, guess there's no better time to truly adultify than the present.

My appendix is mildly hurting. No secondary symptoms yet, but gut says this is getting removed.

In the future I had luck with pepto max and Alka-Seltzer plus for them.

Apple cider vinegar seems to be doing the trick for me, but thank you for the suggestion.

Good to hear. Wish that one worked for me as it far cheaper than the other two. I loathe those damn burps so much.
So weird, all night long on and off sharp pain near my appendix, then it just stopped. Pain never moved, and no secondary symptoms so far. Looks like a false alarm. Fingers crossed, but seems I dodged a bullet. Surgery not a big deal, just did not want to be in a hospital bed for a few days.

New York is literarily covered in smoke, absolutely maddening stuff. I have my N95 mask to even get around from borough to borough for work.

Warning on my phone to avoid going outside due to hazardous air quality. We broke 200 on the AQI now and are at 210.

I don't remember this when I was growing up, but surely it must have been.

Climate change has been making this worse and worse. We just have to accept North America catching fire every year now because doing anything would be communism.

Some of the shit I was seeing said this bad of air quality means even indoors it is not entirely safe. Orange in CT today as well.
This is the future though as climate change makes wildfires more common. Some people may die, but that is risk that corporate execs far away from this are willing to take.

Yup, almost no one here concerned about the causes of the smoke that is forcing us to stay indoors and advising us to also run air purifiers.

The causes are forest fires in Canada. What do you want them to do?
The ones here in Alberta were caused because of low snowfall and drier than usual conditions, but I don't know about Ontario. They had massive snow fall this winter and there was even flooding a month ago.
