Our cat got out last night when I was taking in the Halloween lights and has yet to return.  She is a gorgeous cat with zero street smarts so we aren't sure we are going to get her back.   I put out a dirty litter box, one of my shoes and her bed and blanket, posted on all the local Lost Pets sites and tomorrow I'll call Animal Control and make flyers for the neighborhood.  Would you offer a reward?  I'm nervous to do so because I've heard crazy stories. 

I know this is nothing new, but I really hate insurance companies.

I’m trying to switch on to xeljanz for my rheumatoid arthritis after spending the last five years on Enbrel/Humira and they decided that it had been too long since my TB test to approve me. So despite the fact I had a TB test five years ago and that I’ve been on several drugs that would’ve really fucked me up if I had TB, I farted myself out to the lab today to get it run again.

And I have GOOD insurance! Thank goodness I’m not on my last employers insurance with its $4,000 deductible. But still, stupid blood draws. Would’ve been nice if I could have had this with any one of my quarterly blood checks.

Just find out another friend of my I know since we were kids who haven’t see since 8th grade passed away…

Annoyed, I had a job offer revoked today because the company has taken on too many people, which now means I have to apply for benefits.

Its embarrassing because I promised to myself since I got into full-time employment over 8 years ago I wouldn't go back to benefits off the state.

The redundancy package was sweet and I've hardly made a dent in it but its that time of the year and I need income to help me post Holiday season.

Jake,you've been trying so there is no shame in it especially during these trying times. You are why those services are there. There are many who take advantage so the fact that you don't want to be taking them, shows you aren't doing that.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my beautiful Lulu escaped. It's cold and snowy here so the best I am hoping for right now is that someone has brought her in, though why they haven't tried to look for her owners if that's the case confounds me as we've put up signs everywhere, sent out flyers to our neighbors, posted online, called all the vets in the area. She is fixed and has a tattoo in her ear so obviously she's belonged to someone.



How can I be a crazy cat lady with only one cat?

I took a few days off this week and gotta go back to work tomorrow. Luke Harpering is very underrated, would recommend.

I wanted to do that. I realized I still have a weeks vacay so I checked out the calendar because the 2 weeks I took I still ended up working, plus it was during my move and renos. Not very relaxing. Turns out all my coworkers have it full up until the new year and I'm the lucky person who gets to fill in for them all plus do my stuff. Joy!

Guess I'll get an extra week next year when the borders are hopefully reopened.

Sadly no.

We got a call on the weekend saying someone had seen her 2 streets over so we immediately went out looking but nothing. We've handed out more flyers, put up more signs and I check Animal Control every day. Today there's a blizzard so of course I worry even more. If it were summer I wouldn't worry AS much but it's so cold. I hope she's ok and that someone has taken pity on her.

Super nervous about this meeting/interview Monday. I can't sleep.

Existential crisis is a solid 7 out of 10. What if I somehow bomb this? I don't wanna go back to fast food. I want to be able to provide but I'm not exactly the most naturally confident person either and this whole process has never been my strong suit. Knowing the employer helps, but I don't want to act or come off like I just expect the position either. There's a steep learning curve and I'm willing to give it my all, but I'm always afraid of letting other people and myself down through my own possible ineptitude and/or complacency.

I don't wanna let anyone down and continue to be this guy who had a lot of potential but never realized it or did anything with his life. This would be my first "respectable" job since machining years ago and I don't wanna fuck it up like I did that. Just hoping that something actually works out in 2020 for once, I sure could use it.

So sorry to hear that iron maiden. Our cats are our children (one even bears "Lulu" as her nickname) so I know how deep that pain can run.

I hope you can reunite with her soon or at the very least she has somewhere warm to reside in the time being.

Realising you cannot make your position worse is a good way to free yourself.

Thank you for this incy, I needed it. I'm gonna give it my best shot tomorrow. Probably going to watch some videos tonight to help better prepare myself. The more knowledge I bring to the table the better I imagine.

A friend of mine's 4-year old son is in an induced coma and has swelling/fluid on his brain. Keep her and him in your thoughts & prayers today. I don't know what to say to her other than to be supportive. Life is beyond unfair sometimes.

EDIT: It's not looking good. She just posted that she's saying her goodbyes. Absolutely heartbreaking, hug your little ones today and hold them close please.

No parent should have to bury a child. It feels unfair. I think it would kill me.  I'm so sorry for your friend.

Not to take away from that but how did first day go?
