You know if they came together they would be an unstoppable team. Both put Cena and Brock moments together at the top of their list and alternate moments between Brock and Cena with so few list they would dominate this game.

But that's not Brock's fault. It is hard to have one of the best moments when you debut on the big stage after wrestling has "died", which Big Pete and I figured was around that 2001-02 period. WWF became the only game in town in the States and the company became the draw. People would buy tickets for Mania, the event, a year before the matches were known. In Japan, you had the massive All Japan exodus in 2000 and NOAH's inability to create new stars in the early-to-mid 2000s ultimately led to Misawa killing himself in the ring. You also had Inoki destroying New Japan with his shoot fetish (Tanahashi deserves massive props for bringing them back up to where they are). I don't know enough about lucha to talk about it. It probably sounds hypocritical to list a moment from 1985 Mid-South (which I might) when it would dead in 2 years over something from a 10s Mania in the biggest company in the world in front of 80k people with some "wrestling is dead" argument, but there is something about post-2001 wrestling that feels increasingly hollow, inauthentic to me personally. It might be the end of trying to keep up the fun kayfabe pretence, the crowds becoming more smarky, the wrestlers all being smarky fans and wanting to have uber-workrate "classics", all the stuff that's been discussed ad nauseum. I might have two 2002 moments (one defo) and possibly one 2003 moment.

Told you 90s WWF was going to run away with it. I expect some changes once Strobe submits his list, but as it currently sits, only 4 of the current Top 10 moments are 90's WWF. I will not say where they rank or whatnot because I don't want people to be able to guess what the top moments might be.

-Two moments have now broken 100 pts -There is a new #1. -The old #1 fell to #3.

Currently this is a Top 40 list. The cut off is 14 pts by doing that, and it gives us around 120 unique moments. There's a lot of ties in the 20-40 range so I'll be posting multiple moments at a time for us to discuss and argue about.
Unless someone speaks up and still wants to send a list I'll kick this off later today by posting the honourable mentions. I will make a new thread and this will remain the discussion thread.

I should have used the word story-telling instead of wrestling. It was actually some of the worst wrestling ever but the actual wrestling was secondary back then.

That's my list so far. Couple surprises for me, personally, mainly me being the only vote for Shane being revealed as the owner of WCW. That was a huge moment and I was surprised that nobody else voted for it.
The Hardy Boyz returning placed well on my list because I watched that Wrestlemania with a group of friends and when it happened we all freaked out. Moments that I experienced with other people got bonus points on my list.
CM Punk signing his WWE contract on the ROH world title will always place well for me. I was an instant fan for life after that. Such a cool heel moment.
Finally I want to touch on Chris Jericho entering the Tokyo Dome. I didn't expect anyone else to vote for it, and while it didn't place high on my list, it was always going to, and will probably forever be a moment on my list. Not only was it cool to see, and not only is Jericho my own personal GOAT, but that moment changed wrestling forever, and I think it's incredibly underrated for what it meant at the time.
Chris Jericho had spent two decades as a full-on WWE main event guy, and it didn't seem like that was ever going to change. But on that night, Chris Jericho threw away his entire WWE career and took a chance on his own, reinventing himself in his 40's, and joining up with a bunch of 't-shirt salesmen' to eventually become the most famous face of their new company that is now competing directly with the WWE.
I could go into more detail but I'm pressed for time. It's a moment that is going to define the next 20 years of wrestling history and I think Jericho knew that as he walked into that arena.

Sorry RT! Deleted my post from the list thread. So those Lesnar and Cena lists were real, huh... My entries start appearing at the 8 point mark. Should be pretty obvious which ones are mine. I'm intrigued. What's this about? This reeks of Strobe. I've never watched any 90s NJPW aside from a couple of matches here and there.
