Always nice to see a Tyne-Wear Derby. Even as a novice follower of English football, it's one of the better (and over here in the States, underrated) rivalries in the sport.

Arsenal attack has looked better today and hopefully that trend continues because their last half dozen matches or so in the PL have been dog shit.

Apparently their new strategy is to pass the ball around mid-field for 5 minutes then give it to the other team's defence. Hasn't been working, which is a surprise to no one.

Right...I have calmed down now about the game at the weekend.


It's clear as day the gulf in quality between the two sides now, our players played to the occasion, and not their usual selfs. Newcastle didn't even have to get out of 1st gear, and they controlled a large majority, if not, the whole game.

The own goal was a gut punch, but the mistake by Ekwah to gift them their 2nd infuriated me. Trying to take 2 men on from th edge of your box haha idiot.


Oh and Beale being a fool trying to play out from the back against a high-pressining team like Newcastle, a fool. Hope we don't go up, as we need MAJOR investment based on that performance.

If it makes you feel any better I feel like an idiot for choosing to support Forest. FFP hanging over our heads like a guillotine, Turner having broom handles for feet and we just drew with Bristol in one of the most boring matches I've ever watched.

We may have won yesterday, but don't let that fool you. The performance was still sub-par, and I still detest the man that is Beale.

I made the mistake of posting my disappointment on Facebook and an old college friend who jumped on the City bandwagon in the mid 2010's is calling me a baby. I never talk to him anymore so I'll probably just delete him :lol:

The general apathy you see online from fans is really bothersome. I sit here and bitch and moan about the NHL having a hard salary cap and strict rules about roster management because it gives cheap-ass owners the ability to run a garbage franchise without penalty (they actually get rewarded by getting better draft picks), and the fact that the team I like that has billions of dollars at hand and can't do shit with it...but then I see what happened today and what the future of the PL looks like and I'm like "ehhhh maybe not so bad..."

One year of the PL was enough for me to tap out. I've been watching old 2000's-10's highlights lately and man, my timing honestly sucks. The game is so robotic now. Where has all that beautiful creativity gone?

I know MLS is far inferior quality-wise, but at least it's always fun and chaotic. Come support Toronto\Caps if you don't already, season's just now halfway done.

Bellingham is the weirdest player to assess that I’ve come across. I’ve seen him a few times for Real Madrid, and I feel like he’s mostly incredibly ordinary, but pops up with the big goal in the big moment. There have been strikers like that, but it’s rare in a midfield player. His passing isn’t great, but this habit he has of deciding big games can’t be coincidental. It happens too often.

Anyway, Southgate couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag, but England are on the much easier side of the draw. Anything can happen.

Would gladly take Southgate from you guys over what the US has in Gregg Berhalter anyday of the week.

That ending was epic. I’m happy for England.

The EuroCup has been wild. Granted I’m watching highlights mostly but own goals being the leader in goals is crazy too.

The only reason I'd be happy we lost is the prospect of Berhalter potentially losing his job. It's long overdue and better now than later with just 2 years left to prepare for inarguably the most important WC in USMNT history. I dunno who you replace him with, but GB surely ain't it.

I know it's not a simple process but I still wish the USSF would just swing dick and start making ballsy offers to proven non-American managers. Who cares if we get laughed out of the room (happens anyways), at least an effort was actually made.

You'll never know if a Klopp or someone of that stature might actually accept (he wouldn't I know, but still) without ever trying.
