The stereotypical strong man that protects the woman who insists she isn't weak just because she is a woman and then immediately almost dies and needs to be saved. I typically hate people claiming a movie is sexist, but this was pretty blatant anti-feminist in a disturbing way. I guess it was for humor so I'm not saying any legitimate sexism was intended, but it just came off as dumb to me. Can you elaborate on this please? Which characters are you talking about here?

Wish I would have sent in a list for this. Probably would have been something like: 1. Jurassic Park 2. Fifth Element 3. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World With the rest of the list just being a toss-up of other childhood/teenage personal favorites and a few critically acclaimed classics thrown in here and there. "Stranger Than Fiction" in there somewhere, too. That film doesn't get enough love. P.S. - Original Toy Story is easily Top 20 material. I love Stranger than Fiction!!! That scene where he serenades Maggie with “I’d go the whole wide world” is just incredible. I typically don’t care much for Will’s movies but that’s an exception. Glad to see im not alone here. That's my favorite scene, too. I used to know how to play it on guitar. Need to relearn that one day.... It's one of Will's best performances ever imo. Doesn't have to be overly goofy in at all and he still comes across as funny and charming.

Scarface 85.Heat 87.Full Metal Jacket 90.True Lies 98.The Sandlot 99.The Wizard of Oz 100.Big Trouble in Little China
Reservoir Dogs was the rough draft, Pulp Fiction was the glorious final product. It represents the absolute best of Quentin Tarantino, and it more than any other film is what has built his legacy.
For Mt. Rushmore, it obviously make Tarantino's, Samuel Jackson's, John Travolta's and Bruce Willis's. I could make a good argument for Harvey Keitel as well. Same with Ving Rhames.

Pulp Fiction did not make my list. Saw it, a little overrated, and the sound track is better than the movie.

Goodfellas is great , another movie I consider damn near perfect and easily Scorsese's masterpiece. The construction and subsequent deconstruction of the gangster life was just a brilliant take on the genre and a remarkable ride. The fact that this movie only one one Oscar , lost Best Picture to fucking Dancing With Wolves is all a travesty. I've said a ton of this movie already , I look forward to others thoughts on it - and with it being thereallt's #1 he should have a ton to say.

Dag yo I thought Goodfellas had a shot. KING KID gonna be going crazy or hopeful for his Notebook...
Only saw this one quite recently and it definitely lives up to the hype. My only gripe is there wasn't really comeuppance for our lead despite being a POS. But it's based on a true story and as we eventually learn... crime DOES in fact pay. Handsomely usually.

I wouldn’t say he didn’t get his comeuppance , I mean his life spiraling out of control but turning his back on everyone and leaving the glam life for life in the burbs essentially put him in his own personal prison.
Not on the level of Pesci or his friends but I don’t think anyone wins in the end or that movie.

Forrest Gump finishing so high has killed all of my enthusiasm for this list. Dude. Same! I can’t believe Gump is going to finish #2. Just insane. It’s a great movie, sure, but #2?! Come on man. I love Goodfellas so much. It’s my #2 favorite movie ever. It should’ve finished Top 2, but I guess I’ll take 3. Just not to Gump.

The real reason I haven’t posted in a while is that my number one dropped and I’m still working on my write up for it.
But Gump still sucks.

This is such a ‘dude’ list. I think Goodfellas is great. Not as great as Godfather movies but definitely next in line. Of course it did not make my list. Would have been in my 150-200 as I sometime will watch it if it’s on but don’t go out if my way to say ‘hey let’s watch Goodfellas.’

1. Back To The Future (1985) 2. Jaws (1975) 3. Pulp Fiction (1994) 4. Goodfellas (1990) My guess: 5 5. Ghostbusters (1984) 6. Die Hard (1988) 7. Jurassic Park (1993) 8. The Shining (1980) 9. Rear Window (1954) 11. Apocalypse Now: Redux (2001) 12. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) 15. Groundhog Day (1993) 16. Home Alone (1990) 17. Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) 19. The Breakfast Club (1985) 21. Clerks (1994) 22. Dumb & Dumber (1994) 23. Alien (1979) 24. Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981) 25. A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) 26. Rocky (1976) 29. Rocky IV (1985) 30. Aliens (1986) 33. Raging Bull (1980) 34. Taxi Driver (1976) 35. Happy Gilmore (1996) 38. Fargo (1996) 39. Se7en (1995) 40. Back To The Future Part II (1989) 42. Terminator (1984) 43. Predator (1987) 45. Die Hard: With A Vengeance (1995) 46. Braveheart (1995) 47. Boogie Nights (1997) 48. The Silence Of The Lambs (1991) 52. Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) 54. Speed (1994) 56. Full Metal Jacket (1987) 59. Psycho (1960) 66. American Psycho (2000) 67. Falling Down (1993) 71. Reservoir Dogs (1992) 75. Kill Bill Vol.1 (2003) 76. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) 78. Avengers: Endgame (2019) 79. Logan (2017) 81. Batman Begins (2005) 83. Scarface (1983) 86. Halloween (1978) 87. Apollo 13 (1995) 94. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) 99. E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial (1982) 100. Vertigo (1958)
I love Goodfellas more gritty and frenetic feel which puts it well above the Godfather films for me. Goodfellas is more meat and potatoes gangster fare which grabs you from the get go with a body still alive in the trunk of a car and that great narration which adds a lot throughout the film. It also does a great job of making Liotta and Pesci as equals to De Niro and all 3 put in great performances. Probably due to the famous funny guy scene Pesci takes MVP honors. In the end Henry does get his comeuppance since he has to live the rest of his life like a schnook, with ketchup instead of marinara sauce on his pasta. Raging Bull is Scorsese's technical masterpiece but from an entertainment standpoint Goodfellas is his tour de force.
Going into this I knew my number 10 had no chance, to be revealed once we get to number 1. Love that Forrest Gump got this high to stir up the haters. TDK though, not so much, more later.

Haters commence and suck on a whole box of chocolates because Forrest Gumps is your #2 movie of all time.
Wasn't my #2 movie , but it made my Top 20 and I'm happy Forrest once again defied the odds and found himself near the top of history. The PW 100.

I had it high, gonna assume #5. Was really hoping #1 as I find it far more rewatchable obviously and the soundtrack and all that... but #2 movie is really not bad at all. Ass planter for sure.
Anyone that doesn't like it... honestly it genuinely scares me that they're not institutionalized. It concerns me they are able to drive vehicles and function outside in the real world.
The actual #1 is a great movie no doubt. But it's one that gets old after a few viewings IMO.
