I'm curious if Cody Rhodes will be left in the game or not. I think both Cody and Brandi are left in. And I bet some of the people who complained about his over the top entrance use it. I just hope TH2 make the cut would like to use Angelico's Navarro Deathroll as my finisher.

Evil Uno and Adam Cole announced two character reveals today: Kris Statlander and Nyla Rose.
Gameplay is still choppy but gives you a good idea of where the game is headed:
It was also announced that the roster is currently capped at 50, which means there will be some pretty big omissions from the game when it is released. AEW’s roster currently sits at 125. They hope to build the roster through DLC.
Owen Hart, Sting, CM Punk and Bryan Danielson are all confirmed for the game on top of characters already announced (Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Darby Allin).
Kenny Omega has been spending his time off working on the game. Not sure what he’s doing but apparently he’s heavily involved.

Sounds like the reports about Yukes and AEW being on two different pages seems right. They've had two years to work on the game and that's the best footage they could come up with? That looks awful and it seems like AEW is just being strung along at this point.

That looks awful and it seems like AEW is just being strung along at this point. Latest reports seem to point at Yukes for being at fault too. Game development has been slow and frustrating, its way over budget, and the roster cap was Yukes idea and was against AEW's wishes of not releasing any of the current roster as DLC.

From what I read it sounds like Yukes is stringing AEW either forcing AEW to delay the project or even forcing them into releasing a sequel under the guise that they'll get better with each installment as they get to play around with the engine more. Regardless, that footage looked worse than the Jungle Boy/Darby Allin footage from last year. Surely they can't be planning a Q3/Q4 release? At best it looks like a late Q1 release.

Yeah, what I was hearing as people were trashing the game during the reveal is they sent Kenny while hurt to oversea things, and they keep fucking around trying to WWE this shit with tons of DLC and yearly releases, which is not what AEW wanted. Meanwhile Yukes is pissed off as they are used to working hands off and just doing whatever they want and are upset that they are getting bossed around.

Looking at the clip again, my issue so far is the hit detection. Nyla doesn't even register the hit and her reaction looks completely out of sync to the move. The actual move animations look promising so at least they can build on that.
Outside of that, I actually like the models. They're stylized but they're not as cartoony as the initial preview and it suits the AKI-like presentation they're going for.
I still think they can come back strong from this. Those previews are concerning but hopefully it's just a case of AEW rushing them out to remind fans that the project is still underway. Wrestling games are rarely previewed this early to the public. What they tend to do is showcase it for the journalists who would take screenshots and write about their experience with the game. If you look at No Mercy for instance, we relied heavily on screenshots and journalist impressions and even then the game underwent some major differences. They changed the graphics system from the block Wrestlemania 2000 style to a smoother No Mercy style. Outside of Guest Referee and Ladder match, we weren't aware of the backstage brawls which was a huge feature of the game. Stuff like that, so I'm willing to put this down to inexperience and not really understanding how to conceal their flaws at this stage.
I just really hope they improve on the selling. The best part of HCTP is how each version of the move looked like death. Brock Lesnar's F5, Goldberg's spear, even A-Train powerbombing dudes was fun because it looked impactful. It's something the 2K games suffer in and an area that AEW can really step up.

Wonder why Statlander had some generic music instead of "Take a Ride." When I go to youtube to check the name of her theme. I realize that isn't generic music but her new theme. Weak. Take a Ride was one of my top 5 AEW themes.

I drive a car. I do it daily. But at no point should I be telling BMW how to build a car.
It's a shitty metaphor, but maybe you leave building the game to the professionals and not the wrestler who has probably never seen a line of code, let alone developed a game.

Absolutely agreed, comes off as amatuerish to throw Omega in there and think he should be shotcalling, all because he plays fighting games and has played wrestling games in the past. That's like going up to a chef at a restaurant and telling them how to cook up a meal that you didn't end up enjoying. I hope this is a case of Tony Khan insisting Omega go and check up on them and Omega just being like "Sorry guys but I have to come here and pester you guys, I am really sorry".

Cody thought he was a booker because Daddy was a booker. Brandi talked her way into being CBO. Omega probably sold TK on the idea he was a tech guru. All these people with zero experience telling Tony Khan what they're doing. And in those first couple of months, TK was probably so taken by the idea of working with these guys, he said OK to everything. It's probably a good thing he pulled the rug out from the EVPs.

So weird that people believe that the people producing the game, as in are paying the company to make the game, should not be involved.
To extend the metaphor, but like going to a restaurant you are leasing and telling the chef you pay how to improve the meals he sends.
People know too most game devs do not code right? Game devs are mostly designers, they pay people to code their designs into a game. Kenny not helping with coding, he was helping with design.

I don't see a problem with Omega looking at the design and tell them how he wants it. It does happen in plenty of other fields. Now from the other side they probably think he is an idiot and try to convince him his ideas aren't feasible. Tony and Omega just don't want it to be a week before realize and wrestling game fans bash them for not playing or testing a mess of a game before it got this far.

Sports Gamers Online are reporting that Yuke's Bryan Williams has decided to ditch the ongoing AEW: Fight Forever project in favour of a move to WWE 2K.
Williams was previously a senior game designer for THQ when they had a working relationship with Yuke's and handled WWE's video games. Now, the designer has elected to leave Yuke's behind and return to the WWE fold as part of 2K's team.
Of note, Williams helped redevelop the creation suite that 2K currently uses in their games. That, of course, has expanded to become 'Community Creations', and is one of the most popular aspects of the entire WWE 2K franchise.
Williams through Trent, was the guy who got the ball rolling for AEW: Fight Forever.

Website is live and you can pre-order the game. Has an image of the cover, a teaser revealing the cover, and a few images from the game. Full trailer is dropping on the 12th aew.thqnordic.com/I’m not a fan of the cover. No Hangman or Bucks on the cover is kind of disappointing. Very generic and features 2 guys who might not even be with the company in a couple years.

How fitting that CM Diva is the guy in the middle of the cover. Probably would have thrown a hissy fit if he wasn't.
Crazy they are charging full price for this, the quality must be very good and much better than what was shown for AEW to do this.

It looks so unpolished I am sorry. Trash can is hardly on the head of Adam Cole, the way items are picked up so suddenly, the slingblade(Or whatever that was) by Britt Baker looked silly.
That looks like such a Kenny Omega decision with the Yakuza inspired minigames.

If I wanted mini games, I'd play Mario Party.
Having said that, if the mini games are a separate thing, that I can skip all together, then I don't mind them being there. Just so long, as I'm not forced to play them, to unlock Wrestlers or some shit.

From what I seen people who dislike AEW also dislike this game. People who like AEW like it. People in the middle are waiting to see more gameplay. This is how fanboy shit works though.
So nothing new here.

Just seems like Mini games will be used to hide the lack of other content, which is almost always the case when games do this. I don’t watch AEW enough to have a strong opinion on their product but I don’t how people can say people are only hating on this because it’s AEW, it looks a few steps above Battlegrounds or All-Stars.

I don't have an issue with mini-games but the way AEW have previewed the game thus far has been really poor. That was a bad trailer that didn't reveal too much other than the weapons system, a career mode and the mini-games. Of the three career mode is by far the most appealing feature and they showed none of it. Instead they showed the mini-games and they looked like trash.
Again you can throw these mini-games in as a fun quirk but to push it front row and centre when little has been revealed about the game so far is such a bad move. Really AEW would have been better off holding out until they were satisfied with the game revealing as little as possible before ramping it up with near-daily uploads with roster reveals, in-depth career mode over-views, gameplay tutorials and an overview of other features. The way they've been drip feeding information for over 18 months has done nothing to make the game sound appealing.
I really don't see any No Mercy influence other than they're skimping on the graphics.
