I want to buy this game to support AEW as well as other potential future games from them, however, I was never big into No Mercy and in 2022, I am not sure if that's something I want in a wrestling game.

FTR have been removed from the game according to F(r)ightful. Cody is still in it though!

What I was meaning was people want this game to fail it seems. People were writing it off from the announcement.

I love how they phrased it.  FTR was never scanned for the game.  They then announce they were "removed" from a game they were never set to be in.  

Not entirely new stuff either.  Was report months ago that not everyone got scanned and shit, and FTR was mentioned.   They had recorded chants for them but they missed the scanning date or something.

Think they are going to be DLC. Adam Cole and CM Punk who came in after them are in the game though.

It doesn't help that AEW Games has done an awful job of promoting the game.

Throw in reports that the game has gone way over budget and it's easy to see where the skepticism comes from.

As maybe the only Game Pass subscriber/XBOX Owner on the board, this is big.

Is it exclusive? I mean might as well since only @aaron has a ps5.

Not sure if it will be apart of the PS Plus subscription service, but (RUMOR) it will be on Game Pass Day 1 though.

It's on Switch and PS4/5 too!

Literally no idea what the Xbox sitch is, because those consoles don't make any sense to me anymore.

I might pick it up on Switch, or maybe make this one of the rare PS4 games, I buy these days.

What if they just re-branded the AEW game to be more like DOA and make it all about the cuties? Maybe get a few guest characters like Haewonn from NMIXX! Would you buy multiple copies if each had exclusive Kpop cuties?

It is an odd choice that no Japanese or Mexican talent is on the cover, you'd think they would attempt to do something like that to attract international audiences. Maybe they do a regional cover choice ala Fifa?

If they're putting Mario Party minigames in it, they may as well just go all out and give me some Kpop!

I think putting it on GamePass was the best option for AEW. This was going to bomb in sales, so you may as well get in the hand of as many gamers as possible. If the core gameplay is good, then I think gamers can forgive the lack of features that they can always add in later with DLC ala Fire Pro Wrestling World. CAW is the one mode I hope made it in, because without it you've basically killed the longevity of the game.

I really thought this would be a budget game, like in the £30-35 range. But no - it's £50.

I really can't see many people paying that - especially here where stores have stopped getting in new AEW figures because no one was buying them. Hopefully that means the price should drop very quickly - I'd definitely be willing to pick it up for about £20.

Rumor is finished or not game will release this month. I hope this is not true, but it has been in dev forever. Sometimes you got to release shit and cut your losses.

This would work if the game was aiming for a photorealistic approach but this just looks terrible.

I’d love for this game to be good but there’s too many warning signs that this is going to be a broken mess if released soon. Point that out on other platforms and you just get labelled an AEW hater for wanting the game to improve.

CM Punk confirmed to be in AEW Fight Forever. Game is looking pretty good.

It does sound like the release is imminent. The game is available to pre-load on XBox and the list of achievements have been released. The achievements shed some light on how detailed the season mode is going to be and how it plays like SvR08 RPG mode. That's where you could train your characters up and earn money/opportunities by accepting outside gigs. It wasn't quite realised in SvR08, but 15+ years on there's a decent framework for a satisfying campaign. My only concern is that it's set to last 10 years which given the roster of only 50 wrestlers could get really stale so I'm curious to see how they handle it.

AEW: Fight Forever is coming out June 27 2023 according to Fightful.com, this is an insane month. Forget Street Fighter or Diablo or Final Fantasy.
