I played through a number of SNES era FP games on emulation years ago, while I was binging anything wrestling related for console and I can't find a reason why anyone would care about the Fire Pro series - from system to system, gen to gen it's still that old WCW SuperBrawl type game.

Purosexuals overrate the hell out of it but I will say that it feels very rewarding when you get the controls down and actually win a match. The customization options have a lot of depth too, especially with mods. But yeah, it definitely isn't for everyone and the entry phase feels awkward as hell.

True, I'm honestly not holding out much hope myself. I've seen some fans posting that they think they'll probably patch in more options or add depth via DLC, but I really doubt it.

Regretting this already, I heard create mode was limited but I just assume you couldn't easily make real wrestler easily. You can barely do anything. Female top gave me like 7 options and two of the ones I wanted to use you can't dye. The name selection assumes you want to make wrestler from other company not create originals with the name choices.

Music has been a mixed bag. I will start with some positives a lot of wrestlers who had multiple theme have them all in the game like Hobbs has 2 or 3. Anyone can select Kingdom unlike in WWE 2K23. Some of the none wrestler themes are really good. Since they list by title of the song instead of wrestler they can add some theme of wrestlers not in the game like Diamonte who I am not sure ever was officially called all elite. Overall I like the music. Now the downside I wish they would tell me who some of these belong to on the side somewhere. Because the could just be someone who isn't on tv much. They didn't really do any real music like Ruby Soho, Mox, Jungle Boy, Danielson, Christian, or etc. And there is a theme called Murderhawk in the game but it isn't everybody dies.

I see they tweaked history a little with the three us set out on a goal. Show the elite and the back of Cody.

I lost my debut in a multiple person match, got a random title shot my second week, got injured before my second match, and was told I fine to compete. Sounds about right. Also probably doing something wrong but I don't see the point of working out on an AEW wrestler when they can't seem to upgrade their stats or abilities.

Edit 3: Should be the final one of the night. The random thing they added to people name plate said happy birthday Rosa when playing as Thunder Rosa. Checked her bio and July 22 is her birthday.

Closest thing for TayJay entrance is generic female tag team. And yet Diamante and Ivelisse tag entrance is in that is a little weird. Kilynn King and Savannah Evans tag entrance. What?

The game has some good ideas in it but it also has some weird design choices at places and other places just bad ideas. I really hate the multi person matches in this game. CPU can get pinned off almost anything. And in road to elite they seem to love multi person matches. I rather take a handicap match over a fatal four way in this game.

Not sure I have it in me to go for platinum in this game. I only have the grindy ones left one being road to elite 6 more times. There is 12 mini stories that last 4 weeks and a ppv. Three random ones in each ppv cycle. Odd how AEW ppv cycles aren't monthly yet this cycle is monthly. My last run had only one new story which was both rushed and made no sense.

Week 1 Fenix saved me.
Week 2 flying in a plane with Pac. Doesn't trust me. Ask who I want to tag with to prove loyalty. I pick him. We win.
Week 3 Eat some food with Penta who wants to fight just to see what I am made of.
Week 4 all member of Death Triangle like me call me out and ask me to join. I said I would be happy to stand by them. Someone I think Penta said then why am I stand away from them looking down on them (was on the stage)and start yelling at me. And the other two followed.
PPV I have to fight Pac 1v1. Then Penta comes out fights me in front of the ref. Then Fenix comes in and now it is a handicap match. Ref isn't DQing them. And you know what I just quit and took that lost. Finished my road to elite with Starks with only that one lose. Speaking of that road to elite rating is weird.

Road to Elite 1: Tay Melo D rank I was woman champion and lost. Never lost the TNT title Slight positive win record. Played mini games and did extra stuff.
RtE 2: Hikaru Shida A+ rank Undefeated with Womans, TBS, and World plus mini games
RtE 3: Custom Wrestler Jobber D rank lost everything on purpose. No offer to join dark order yet Tay got one.
RtE 4: Ricky Starks rank C Casino Battle Royal win and World title. Only lose one unfair match no mini games

And remember that pack is about $12 atleast here it is so that Bunny cost around $6 dollars. Unless you count the minigames which I don't.

This game sounds like Mario Party just did several hot rails before mercilessly devouring a copy of Legends of Wrestling.

Throw in a weird Yakuza life simulator aspect, and you'd be on the money rad.

I doubt it'll happen, but this game really needs a No Man Sky facelift with it's GOTY edition. A big DLC pack (discounted for 'pioneer' players) that includes 20+ more wrestlers, a completely revamped CAW, more match-types and options, an improved season campaign with new storylines and whatever fixes fans have been clamoring for.

I still don't think the game is bad, it's just nowhere near a AAA game.

I haven't played it on PS4, so I honestly couldn't tell you.

I mostly picked it up for Switch, as I already had WWE 2K23 on PS4 (although I find myself going back to 2K19 more than anything, for the AEW universe mode I made), and it gave me a wrestling game to play on the go.

I can't really spot a difference between PS4/PS5 gameplay, so you be the judge nath.

It runs well enough on Switch, which doesn't come as a shock considering it looks like a PS3 game.

Still 60 hours is a fair ROI. The game isn't terrible, it's just extremely bare bones. If you have to pick up a version, it should be PC since the mod support fixes a few issues (short matches, questionable AI).

Shitty graphics and lack of polish aside, the fact it crashed continually on PS4 was a deal breaker for me. I've never been as angry with a game as much as this. It got boxed back up and returned the next day.

Don't know why they thought 2 minute matches was a good idea even on elite difficulty. Worst create a wrestler in generations and career mode needed fleshing out.

And continuing to charge people for season passes and DLC... I mean, it's beyond a joke now.

The comments on AEW's social media is people in disbelief they'd even attempt to palm this game off.

First, you bought the original.

Then, they convinced you to buy the " elite edition "

Now, you can buy the " ultimate edition " with all the DLC included and have it all again for just $99.99.

I am all for it, as do not like it, do not buy it. Then next year when it drops to like 20 bucks it will be a good deal.

Frankly shocked they are doing anything for this game at this point given how badly it bombed.

Given how badly it bombed, and the criticism it continues to get online for their continued DLC push, it's almost insulting.

Rarely is a comment on the AEW socials positive, most fans are just down right offended by the game.

No. It's a shit game.

It's a half finished, not yet fully realised game with mid PS2 level graphics with a reliance on DLC to give punters any incentive at all.

I'm sure Kenny Omega hates it too.

I can't speak to Fallout 76, but if Hello Games didn't work diligently to improve the core gameplay of No Man Sky it would continue to be a laughing stock of the industry.

That's the difference, games like No Man Sky and CyberPunk were worked on well after release and improved all the gameplay features. Yukes has only released minimal patches for Fight Forever, they've done nothing to address the main criticisms of the game and the DLC does little to improve the core experience.

The main issue with Fight Forever is that it's a budget title that they continue to price as a AAA game. If they priced the game accordingly and expanded on a few modes, the game would be received better by it's target audience. $100 USD (150 AUD) is ridiculous and deserves to be called out.

Probably make a great mobile game.
