I need to watch more Cardinals. He does jump off the screen when you watch him but was he not pretty average in the first part of the season? Passing wise at least? Hanzus said it casually when listing his candidates, and it just caught me off guard. I can't find one good stat on him outside of his running yardage and touchdowns, and those are exceptional to be fair. While ESPN QBR is a weird metric since we don't know how it works, I find it weird that Murray is only 10th in it. Jackson was miles ahead of everyone last season which makes sense given QBR has always favoured running quarterbacks. Not Murray though. Unlike Roethlisberger, I do feel like Murray could legitimately get there this year though. He had a few bad games I remember where his interceptions were brutal , but that stuff happens. And they weren’t all on him. Still though they count. As a pure runner he is #13 in YPG but #2 in rushing TDs per game and pretty much is their entire red zone offense. Also like the fact that the little sawed off mother fucker seems to actually be a leader and isn’t afraid to get on guys and even hold someone like Nuke accountable for screwing up a route. Not saying others don’t do that too but it’s visible on the field and they seem to respect him for it. Plus again - Kingsbury. I’d recommend watching more Cardinals too though. When they aren’t handing off to Drake they are a really fun team to watch and Murray is a blast.

I hear you, but him ball hogging all those rushing TDs is so valuable and seems to be impossible to stop for defenses as he usually has Chase Edmonds running laterally or right behind him the whole time so the defenses have to always watch for the flip to the halfback. He's tiny and fast, too. Plus if you go after him, you're going to leave someone open in the end zone whether it be Nuk, Fitz, Kirk or even a random TE. Kirk got a lot of red zone TDs this season inside the 5 also because they attack Murray. He's extremely valuable to the Arizona team and offense, especially when their defense can't stop great offenses. Honestly, I am going to be so pissed off if Patrick Mahomes doesn't win the MVP this year. He's near flawless and its literally art to watch him quarterback. The dude is amazing. Beautiful. You name it. And I didn't even get to the football part yet! My top 5 in the MVP race would be like this: 1- Mahomes 2- Murray 3- Russ 4- Rodgers 5- Josh Allen; ugh. It sucks, because Alvin Kamara and Dalvin Cook have been carrying their teams offenses all season too but RBs don't really get the love they deserve in the MVP race. CMC had a historic season last year, but there was no way he was getting MVP over Lamar. The MVP is just a QB award, which I find unfair. Russ can’t be that high right now , I love the dude but he’s been bad the past few games. Not just the people around him either but Russ has made some terrible decisions.

I actually agree and my personal list would have Rodgers 3 and Kamara 5.... but I can see the voters still splattering their nuts off on the first month of Russ which was a historic pace. People either ignore or just don't pay enough attention to how much Aaron Rodgers carries that offense. They've dominated teams without Davante and Aaron through games this season. Rodgers never gets the respect he deserves, but people are quick to jump down his throat (like pre-season) when everyone said that Rodgers was done and Love was the future and yada, yada yada. Hell they even had me believing that Aaron Rodgers lost a step or two coming into this season because his play was eh'ish last season even though he was without Davante a lot.

Davante Adams did not practice again today. UTI think they're going to keep him out this game. Easy peezy. I haven’t seen that anywhere , practice reports aren’t even usually out yet and he’s been LP this week. He may or may not play but I ain’t sweating it yet.

"Davante Adams (ankle) was held out of Thursdays practice. Adams stayed inside again when the team came outside. Its a bad sign after Adams was limited on Wednesday." They do say that even a limited session for Adams on Friday would put him on track to play. Still, I don't think they can beat the Colts with a healthy Davante. With a less then 100% Davante; DOUBLE DIGITS.

Hell they even had me believing that Aaron Rodgers lost a step or two coming into this season because his play was eh'ish last season even though he was without Davante a lot. As I said he’s been without most of his top weapons together for most of the season. Lazard , Adams and Jones are unquestionably his best skill guys and have barely gotten to play together. Not to mention Bahk missing games too. He’s had a good year , but he’s going to find it hard pressed to catch Mahomes and Murray unless this offense goes on an absolute tear and stays healthy. I know its homer-ish but people underestimate Lazard because he’s not a name. Dude is good and really the only other guy Rodgers trusts. Especially in crucial moments and 3rd downs. He was forced to go to MVS or ESB in those situations and they let him down. He’s MVS has splash plays but he’s the guy that generally isn’t going to make the right play down 4 with 6 minutes left. I’m excited to see this offense in two weeks when everything can be rolling and there are more guys to make teams pay for doubling Davante. And not just on fly routes but deep crosses.

As much as I talked up Murray and even down Russ earlier , I think Seattle finds a way to win tonight. And I don’t think it’s as high scoring as some.
Seattle 30 Zona 23
And I have money on Arizona season long so I’ll be pulling for the opposite.

I think the Murray MVP buzz is coming from the fact that people have realised that his stats are better than Lamar's were last season when everyone thought that was a real outlier campaign. He's on pace for 5,295 total yards and 48 total touchdowns which is pretty wild.

Lamar was surrounded by great coaching and a dominant running game. Murray has better receivers but that also stands to reason that he’s a better passer.

It's going to be interesting to see whether they can continue this upward trajectory with the passing offence. They've clearly clicked into gear after an inconsistent start but it has come playing against some poor defences (Jets, Seahawks, Cowboys) and from next week things get tougher (Rams x2, Giants, 49ers, Patriots) so it will be interesting to track if they can keep it up. Making this post I just noticed Football Outsiders have paywalled their content - lame!

I have nothing to back it up and no rationale but I just feel tonight Seattle’s defense slows him down. Possibly even forces a few turnovers - which would bode well for @kids Hyde bet. Hope I’m wrong because I love watching Murray go wild , and he and Russ could have another great duel.

Not all of their tables, I was just on there looking at Big Ben's rankings for our little debate - today you can't view them, or any of the DVOA pages.

Drake got so lucky, Cards have been fortunate with the Seattle penalties and that near turnover to be tied. Not that I am complaining, gimmie the better 1st and 3rd round pick boys. Lose Seattle lose!

I know Kenyan Drake is enemy #1 here for some reason but you can hardly call that a near turnover, he broke the plane and was down (not that it mattered) before the ball came out.

Brian Schottenheimer's offense is basically let Russell Wilson roll out of the pocket and do whatever he wants with it. Such a gifted mind. I will renounce my Jets fandom if he's even considered the next HC.

All the Ex Jets bombing this game for Seattle from No.33 to Jason Myers missing these XPs to Brandon Shell getting worked on the rightside. Giving me some serious PTSD.
Lets go Cards, lets open this defense up Kingsbury will ya.
