With the 12th overall pick in the 2021 PW Mock Draft , the Philadelphia Eagles select: Caleb Farley , CB , Virginia Tech Strengths: Size , Speed , Physicality Weaknesses: Consistent Instincts , Frame The Eagles need a weapon on offense and a corner but with no weapons available here Farley would easily make the most sense. They don't have a legit starter on their roster opposite Slay and Farley has the ability and experience to be a day one starter in their secondary. The Eagles trade down six spots and still arguably get the best corner in the draft in this scenario but I honestly think he could go as early as #9 to the Broncos or #10 to the Cowboys so the Eagles would be incredibly fortunate to snag him up this late , but if teams start trading up for QB's it's definitely plausible.

Oops Blindy is on the clock. Crazy that the Giants still need to target linemen , it seems like they've had the same issues for like 8 years in a row now and can't get it figured out. It always seems like teams with line problems always have line problems and can never figure it out. I like the Slater pick because he can probably be good-great at a number of positions and me and @admins's boy has him rated as the best in the draft.

Last two picks were guys on Chargers radar so easy pick here for me. With the 13th pick, the San Die.......Los Angeles Chargers select CB Jaycee Horn out of South Carolina We briefly discussed him earlier, prior to his pro day he was a top 20-25 prospect but that was until his pro day where the speed concerns got dashed(pun intended) and he may have etched himself in the top 15 category. Dude is an athletic freak and by all accounts, is feisty and has some of the best trash talk/swagger in the draft. Son of Joe "Cell phone TD" Horn, ex Saints great, the Chargers get a huge shot in the arm for their secondary here. With Casey Hayward gone, The Chargers no joke have a UDFA group led by Harris Jr, who is terrific but also injury prone, especially with him going into his 30's. In a division where big bad Patrick Maholmes is slinging it against you twice a year, you need to find that go to cornerback and Horn may prove to be it. With 2 corners off the board in the last 3 picks, you go get one of the best now. Ultimately with that certain QB here, I think Telesco and Belichick hookup for another draft day deal but with no trade ups or downs, Horn is the guy. Vikings OTC UT

With the 14th pick in the 2021 PW Mock Draft , the Minnesota Vikings select: Gregory Rousseau , Edge , Miami (FL)A lot of people have Paye as the top ranked edge player in the draft but I think Zimmer knows what he likes and wants in an edge player and Rousseau is prototype for that. Even without the pending Hunter hold out the Vikings were in desperate need of pass rush help , you consider that and edge is a must draft here. Rousseau gets the not for me because he is much in the same mold as Hunter was coming out , superbly athletic and quick burster , lanky and versatile on the front. I honestly wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if this is the first of two or three edge players taken by the Vikings in this draft and most in the same exact mold. @admin and his second favorite team , the New England Patriots are OTC.

I actually think this is going to be pretty accurate to the draft , maybe not exact players in exact spots but after all the offensive guys are off the board (up to 9 or 10) we are going to see a nice sized run on defenders ... especially the corners , minus that terrible Smith pick by the Broncos.
I really truly think that it's going to be either of the Miami ends over Paye for the Vikings and possibly the first edge off the board. Not because they are necessarily better prospects but because they fit Zimmer so well and he's not shy about drafting raw(er) prospects and coaching them up. Plus Hunter could miss some time or is rumored to be on the trade block.
Cornerbacks went off the board and it's definitely likely or plausible the Chargers take one. I could also see offensive line as a target to continue to protect Herbert who had the absolute shit kicked out of him last year. Guess it comes down to if they like Darrisaw or a guy like Horn more. Whatever they do , they need a guy with ZERO red flags as far as injuries go.

With the 15th pick the New England Patriots select Mac Jones, QB, Alabama There's a pretty reasonable chance that Jones doesn't stay on the board this long, he might go as high as #3 to the 49ers, but if one of the top 5 fall to the Patriots I'd be shocked if they didn't take them. New England went on a spending spree during free agency to address most of their roster holes, but they still have a huge question mark at quarterback. Even if Cam Newton plays better this season with an improved supporting cast, he's not a long term option. Jones is easy to connect to the Pats because he has some Brady-esque traits as a QB who lacks traits but has all the intangibles and is a winner. The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock KING KID

Yeah I don't think there is a snowballs chance in hell Jones lasts to #15 , but without trades than it makes total sense for him to fall to the Pats , who I think are a candidate to trade up.

With the 16th pick in the NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals draft: RB Travis Etienne out of Clemson. Sure CB may be their biggest need, but if they don’t trade up for it they won’t get them. They’re a favorite to draft down if they don’t get any of the CBs they want here, but we’re not doing trades. So what I’m going to do is HAPPILY replace that bum Kenyan Drake with a stud RB in Travis Ettiene. Let’s give Kyler Murray all the help he can get offensively and keep Arizona as a fun offense to watch. Your soon to be AFC West Champions. UT and the RAIDAHZ are on the clock.

With the 17th pick in the 2021 PW Mock Draft , the Oakland Raiders select: Micah Parsons , LB , Penn State The Raiders need defensive studs at every level and there is an argument to be made for Parson being the best defensive player in the draft and someone who could go as high as #9 to the Broncos , but with his character concerns he could also land at the bottom of the first round. So putting him in the middle with Raiders seems right as someone who could instantly come in and be an impact player on their defense in ability and leadership. Strictly as a player , Parsons seems as can't miss as you can get as there isn't anything he cannot do on the field or any scheme he wouldn't flourish in. If the Raiders can keep him in line and his focus on football I have zero doubts that he's a future All Pro. @admin and the Miami Dolphins are back OTC

I'm actually really curious to see where Parsons lands. I've seen him actually go as high as #8 to Carolina , though I don't think that'll happen the Broncos also make sense. I've also seen a few mocks where he drops all the way to the Packers - which as a player I'd be okay with but his red flags are huge and not sure I want that on the team. Knowing Mayock just as a TV guy , he doesn't seem to shy away from character players and Gruden has to believe he can set him on the right track as well - so I think the Raiders are a likely scenario if he falls that far.
Not sure I love the Etienne pick for the Cardinals , seems like a luxury at this point for a team that already has Edmonds whom I already think is tailor made for the offense they want to run with his quick cut ability and options out of the backfield. Etienne seems like a similar version to that - if anything the Cardinals would probably wait until later to grab a more physical guy to compliment him but KK no doubt would be okay with passing the ball 45 times a game.
The might be the team in most need of a cornerback right now , now in this scenario they kind of got worked over with so many CB's going off the board but I could see them as a trade candidate. Staying put in this scenario though I could easily see them attack any position on the defense or offensive line and then coming back and taking someone like Kylin Hill or Trey Sermon in the 3rd round area.

Parsons would’ve been my pick with Carolina but I didn’t want to throw the draft off by passing on a QB there.
A lot of mocks have the Cardinals grab the UNC RB in the 2nd round and trading down to a later pick in the first round. CB would be their biggest need realistically or O-Line help but I wanted the stud and drafting offensive lineman is soooooo boring. I don’t see Arizona keeping Edmonds as a full time starter. I’ve been following Edmonds closely the past two years as he’s been on my fantasy leagues so I know Arizona doesn’t love him as much as I do. They’re going to keep going with a 2 man backfield but chances are Etienne does not go there and they do grab the second round RB who is more of a power runner. We’ll see.

Fields just ran the second quickest 40 in QB scouting combine history. Only behind RG3.
Did Lamar not run it?
Anyways; SF needs to draft this dude 3rd.

I think part of the problem with Drake last year is they were using him as a power guy and that isn’t his game ... but Edmonds was better in the spread. If they draft a running back I’d more understand Harris than Etienne but I think they’d be goofy to draft one in the first at all.

Also interesting to note that a lot of the buzz around the 49ers third pick is for Lance. I’d say about 80% of the sites I like and trust say it’s going to be Lance over Jones and Fields. Usually where there’s smoke from that many sources there’s fire. I trust most prospects with Shanny and think Lance is as athletically gifted as anyone and would be interesting.
Though Fields 40 might raise some eyebrows.

With the 18th pick the Miami Dolphins select Alijah Vera-Tucker, OG, USC The Dolphins invested a lot into their offensive line last offseason, but it's still a work in progress. They have some young players who they will be hoping improve, particularly at the tackle positions, but the interior is fairly rough. Vera-Tucker is similar to Rashawn Slater as a guy that has played across the o-line in college, spending most of his time at either guard spot, but also played LT in his final season at USC. He's probably not big enough to play tackle in the NFL, but that's OK considering the biggest problem area is at right guard. Miami masked some of their protection issues last season by getting the ball out quickly - but they are going to inevitably try and open up the offence with improved weapons this season. To get the most out of Will Fuller and Ja'Marr Chase (in this example) they're going to need to hold up better up front to allow Tua to throw the ball deeper down the field. It seems inevitable they will take a playmaker with the #6 pick, I think it's very important they get a good blocker in order to really get a good evaluation on Tagovailoa this season. Agree with the Dolphins needing offensive line help , hell I could see them going linemen early if for some reason the Bengals do pass on Sewell , only because of the edition of Fuller. As it stands though with Chase being a smart first pick I think any of the linemen left are viable.
Actually think Etienne could be in play here too for better or worse. They were rumored to be the biggest players for Aaron Jones and were going to shell out ALOT of money for his position. Makes me think they want a back in that same mold and Etienne is definitely that. If he's still on the board of course.

Miami narrowed which of the 2 OLineman you go with if your Washington. Two USC Olineman in round 1 back to back years playing side by side to each other is a good combo for Miami. With the 19th pick, the Washington Pigskins select OT Christian Darrisaw out of Virginia Tech A DMV local, the Pigskins are seemingly strong on the interior OLine but the outside line post Trent Williams leaves a lot to be desired. With Morgan Moses a FA to be after this year, an insurance policy in Darrisaw really goes a long way and I think between this and LB this has to be the pick with Parsons off the board. Had gotten rave reviews for his protection, with an aging Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB, if Washington wants to go from surprise playoff team to a team that has a shot to represent the NFC for it all, it all starts with the tackle position and keeping Fitzpatrick upright 17 games a year and Darrisaw will go a long way. At worst, he moves over to RT for the long haul and Washington has a keeper for the next 8-10 years. Safe pick but a needed one. Bears OTC UT

With the 20th pick in the 2021 PW Mock Draft , the Chicago Bears select: Teven Jenkins , OT , Oklahoma State The Bears could go a number of places here but the pressure is on both Pace and Nagy to win right now , meaning they are going to need bodies to come in and contribute right away. Jenkins is a monster of a man and maybe the most powerful tackle in the draft who should be able to come in and upgrade an offensive line and especially running game for Chicago right away also hope that he can improve early on pass blocking to keep the Windy City Red Rifle on his feet. Nice pick with Darrisaw Blindy , I was hoping he would fall to Chicago for purposes of the draft. Darrisaw is someone on my short wish list for the Packers but know we would probably have to trade above Chicago to get him in the very least. Jenkins is interesting too , he is capable of dominating and when he gets on you it's over but I do worry that he needs the proper coaching and the Bears lack proper coaching on most levels.

With the 21st pick in the NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select:
OT Sam Cosmi out of the University of Texas.
I know I just finished talking about how drafting offensive linemen are boring, but this is a necessity. With the shocking retirement of Anthony Castonzo and bringing in a new QB in Carson Wentz, it just makes absolute sense here. This dude had a killer combine running a 4.8 on the 40. This past season he allowed only 2 sacks, 1 QB hit and 5 QB pressures. The rich remain rich here as Wentz gets help for the rest of his career in Indianapolis and the franchise tries to not miss a beat with their O-Line. The Colts are not going out there this season for anything less then the division title and this will be a huge help.
4 offensive lineman drafted in a row here. SO EXCITING.

That run on offensive linemen.
I like Cosmi a lot , actually prefer him after Darrisaw is the Packers decide to go that route. He's a little raw but super talented and the type of guy I have faith in our offensive line staff to get the most out of.
The Colts are a weird team. I think they could really be served well by drafting offensive line or tight end as they need to put Wentz in the best position to succeed. There aren't any other TE's that are going to go this early so Cosmi makes sense. If they do go defense I'd imagine it would be corner to replace Rhodes who had a bounceback year with them.

With the 22nd pick the Tennessee Titans select Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan Picks in the twenties generally don't attract huge scrutiny but this feels like a pretty important one for the Titans after their terrible last offseason which really submarined a team in a Super Bowl window. Tennessee's biggest problem last season was their lack of pass rush (only 19 sacks), it was quite clear from early in the season they were simply unable to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks and that was always going to be a major obstacle for them genuinely contending. They've already sought to address it by signing Bud Dupree, but EDGE is a position that your cupboard simply cannot be too full of. Paye is a freaky athlete who has a few technical limitations that has capped his production in college, but he has the tools and potential to be a real impact player. After the debacle that was the Isaiah Wilson experience, it's also worth noting that Paye certainly ticks the desire and effort box. The New York Jets are back up Blindy

Love @admin making my life easier taking a potential guy 1 before me Would have been so tempted to do Paye to NYJ to help with Lawson on the pass rush attack. Whew. Good pick. With the 23rd pick, the New York JETS select CB Greg Newsome II out of Northwestern Cornerbacks flew off the board early in the draft and I feel the Jets biggest need right now post Zach Wilson is corner. Brian Poole who was lost in the year is still a free agent, leaving us with 2020 5th round pick Bryce Hall, 2019 6th round pick Bless Austin and UDFA Javelin Guidry as the 3 major cornerbacks right now on the team. This was a point of weakness all year long and one of the Jamal Adams picks goes to address cornerback and getting the best valued one here. Newsome is a fringe top 20 prospect but has a slew of injuries that may stop him from going higher in the draft but he killed it in the NW pro day and was apart of a gritty defense that gave the likes of Justin Fields a true off day this past season in tape that is dissected to this day as a low point on Fields. Newsome brings much, much needed help in the secondary, a spot Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh for some reason did not address thus far. Very happy to get him here. By all acounts, a great fit for this defense too.
