Liv Morgan defeated Vanessa Bourne.  This was billed as a match to try and persuade William Regal to put them into the Fatal Four Way at TakeOver: Houston.

In my opinion, I don't think either should be in it.

Thank goodness that that wasn't a qualifying match as both Liv and Vanessa are too inexperienced to handle a Takeover event at this time. Liv's been down in NXT for far too long and she's never really gotten anything done aside from being the Jersey girl who has a kinda-similar gimmick to Carmella.

I do wonder who the last woman will be in the Takeover match with Kairi. I wouldn't mind it being someone totally new like Bianca or Lacey after their singles match performance last week. Or maybe even Dakota Kai?

That's kinda my problem with Liv. The gimmick. I feel like they should change up her character, and put her in a storyline to keep her busy. I think she's got tons of potential though.

I like Liv, but when she first debuted all I could think of was she was like a fusion of Enzo' s character and Carmella's character.

Funny about that. I think her and Enzo are a thing. Or were. Is there a wrestling TMZ I can check?

I want to like Liv but she gave me some Kelly Kelly vibes here. Nothing quite that terrible, but she doesn't seem naturally athletic and looked like she got tired which in a short match isn't a particularly good sign. I would like to see her in a match with someone more experienced though that could give her a better base because Vanessa seemed very unremarkable.

And the way Liv plays her character makes it really seem like she's trying too hard. Face!Carmella had this swagger on her, even as she walked into the ring. But Liv Morgan looks like she thinks she needs to put her energy up at 180 from the moment she makes her entrance to everything she does in the ring that it looks very unnatural. A gimmick change can only do wonders for her and she needs it, STAT.

Liv does need a good bit of work, but working with another inexperienced girl didn't help.


I do thinkn Liv has a few nice moves like the matrix dodge or that stomp she did springboarding off the top rope. Her finisher doesn't seem too bad, though it could be smoother. I think she just needs a character change, and in the ring she needs to finally put it all together and keep improving from there.

There seems to be a pretty big identity crisis/gimmick problem with a lot of the NXT roster right now, and I think the blame is equally shared between the talent and the writers who don't seem to be giving anyone a great deal to work with (and didn't get the girls like Billie, Peyton, Liv, Aliyah who have been there for a while now up and running early enough because they were so focused on the previous NXTgen).

I gather they're trying to do a bit of a reset at the moment (and the MYC was the start of a lot of that for the women's division) but they're really not in a great place at the moment from a storyline and roster depth perspective and that's reflected in how quiet the crowd is for the couple of matches I've watched recently.

Nikki Cross

is the final entrant in the 4-way. I'm okay if they went with her to be honest.

I'd be so happy if they went with her.

YAS ZELINA!!! I've always had a soft spot for her as Rosita, so we know that she can work and transition easily into the ring when she gets there. But her being a really effective mouthpiece and manager for Almas is working wonders in getting her more familiar with the audience. We'll be seeing more of her, too!

And this is especially true with Almas getting the title shot in Takeover: Houston. More Zelina during the main event!

And cool that Nikki is the final entrant, though now you have to wonder why the first six girls got triple threat opportunities and this last one is just everyone else. And to think Nikki lost one of those triple threat matches. Hell, Liv and Sonya were in those triple threats. Yet someone who has challenged for the title before (Billie) only got this battle royal. I won't complain though, because the line-up is quite solid with Ember and Kairi filling in for Billie and Asuka from the last fatal four way title match.

Wonder if they're not too high on Billie versus Peyton. Seems if they lose in tag matches it's always Billie taking the pinfall. She has a better look (Peyton) so I'm not disagreeing just something I've noticed in this never-ending feud with Ruby (also Ruby beat Billie but not Peyton) that she's generally protected.

Zelina has been a great mouthpiece for Almas. They make a great pairing. I was uncertain about it, because I wasn't sure if she was good on the mic and had capabilities as a manager or not, and I really wanted full Los Ingobernables Almas. But, it's been a great pair, and has done wonders for both, and anything that helps Almas get the big push he deserves is good to me.



I'm not very much surprised they like Peyton better than Billie and protect her more. I think Peyton is way better. I thought earlier in their NXT run, they were on the same level, but while they play off each other perfectly and work their characters equally well, Peyton seems to be the one who has developed way better in the ring and has the better look to push as a star. I don't mind Billie, and love them as a team, but Peyton is the star.

The match between Peyton, Nikki, and Liv was very well laid out tonight. Nikki Cross is definitely one of the best character wrestlers in recent days in the women's division. The way she moves around the ring is frantic and fast-paced, like her character, but she never really messes up. It's definitely enjoyable watching her really do well as this crazy lady on Sanity.

I liked the fact that even if Billie was there, she only really tried to interfere once and she didn't even really swing the tables toward Peyton. Taynara Conti's introduction was okay. She was sent in to make sure Nikki Cross lost (Sanity vs. Undisputed) and she's a good equalizer to the numbers game. Working with Peyton and Nikki did wonders for Liv. She was quite smooth since the ladies in the ring with her can actually take her moves. And good on her for taking that hangman's neckbreaker from Nikki. She still needs a character reboot though, as her music and ring introduction are grating and annoying.

I just watched a backstage segment that showed Undisputed blowing Taynara off. They didn't have a "deal". She had a "use". So I guess it was a one-off thing? I hope Taynara either makes herself of more "use" soon or becomes a thorn on those three's side for using her.

I love that Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce, and Nikki Cross are in the fatal 4-way. Peyton started to grow on me during her title shot as part of the fatal 4 way in San Antonio. Nikki Cross just has that it factor. I love her mannerisms she has a certain presence about her. In the ring, she has this rugged but unorthodox style and the combination works, I hope Nikki wins the title, I don't know why Ember has to be in this match at all, An injury kept out of her first title opportunity I contend if she wasn't injured she might have been the person to be pinned by Askua because Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross were focused on each other, Ember was the most legitimate threat to Askua that story has been told already, Ember should be on the main roster not getting another title shot, Her spot to Ruby I would have loved that. Even Billy Kay would have been an acceptable choice above Ruby in a hypothetical situation.Having Ember Moon in the match annoys me and I find it unnecessary.

With Mandy, Sonia, Sarah, Ruby, and Liv all called up to the main roster, I wonder what the future will be with the NXT Women's Division.

Right now, you have Ember, The Iconic Duo, Kairi, Nikki, Bianca, Mercedes, and Vanessa. I wonder who will they sign next? I think Jazzy Gabbert would be a great addition.

They announced Kairi vs. Peyton for next week's NXT show. I'm worried about putting them both together in a match immediately since they both kinda need wins after the Takeover match, and I don't see Kairi losing for the time being. They might surprise us with a horribly tainted Peyton win (since Billie is there), but it might set the stage for Ember's first title feud.

Ember Moon is definitely not enticing as the NXT Women's Champion at the moment. I hope they flip the script with the title and have her be the first to lose it immediately on the next Takeover, and then just shift her to the main roster during the Royal Rumble and so on.

In fact, with this week's segment, I wouldn't be shocked if Shayna beats Ember at Philadelphia to set up the anticipated Kairi chase.

Shayna does nothing for me. i'll take Sonya over her any day of the week.

Shayna would be pretty fresh just for having a real heel champion. I was rooting for Peyton in that regard, but they aren't going down that path. With regards to Kairi I wonder if they're still high on her if she's simply taking a back seat for the time being. Hopefully her performance in the 4-way didn't damper things too much for her.

It seems like I got part of my wish.

I hope we see some MYC signings after WM. Or at least more of girls that were already in the PC like Kimber (forget her NXT name).

For what was a really short match, both Shayna and Dakota impressed! Shayna had the look and mannerisms of being a bully down pat. The videos of her bullying the other girls at the performance center only enhances the true heel vibe she has, which is something we really need in the NXT Women's Division at this time. Similarly, Dakota sold the beatdown and that elbow pummel amazingly. They already have a built-in reason for her to go after Shayna if they decide to push her while Shayna's champion.

Seeing Ember come down and confront Shayna at the end of the match didn't really sway me that much, honestly. I still say pull the quick switch at the PPV and take Ember to the main roster. Have Kairi and Dakota chase Shayna for the title, with Nikki also getting a one-on-one title shot and just waste each other in the ring as well.

I am also very excited with the news that Candice LeRae has been signed. I can see her debut at Takeover to neutralize Zelina's interference, but Ciampa will come out to impact the results in the end. And was that Tessa Blanchard backstage with Ricochet during the Street Profits segment? I really hope she also gets signed!

Sadly someone like Dakota is not someone I ever see them going all in with. She seems like someone they'll use to make others look good.
