I'm still not buying into Shayna

Shayna is great at being a nonchalant bully. Destroying Dakota is another example of that.

Lacey Evans cut a strong post-match promo this week. I think she's got some real potential. Aliyah is still just kinda there unfortunately.

It's really cool to see Zelina doing so well. The way she falls into her Brooklyn accent when she gets fired up is great.

In kayfabe, Ember comes off foolish. She could have pissed off Shayna Baszler by simply saying you want a title shot fine. Beat me in a non-title match. Instead, she gives Baszler not only what she wants, a title shot but by also playing mind games via her bully and intimidation tactics.

I liked the Ember/Shayna sit down interview. Why they can't do proper 1v1 feuds like this on the main roster is beyond me. Gave the match a big fight feel, and I like how they're using a lot of people's genuine opinions on Shayna's (and Ronda's) presence in WWE as the storyline for the match.

I think Candice’s debut is a lock for tonight. I can’t wait for her program with Zelina.

Not really looking forward to Shayna/Ember. I can’t be assed about anything involving Shayna or Ronda or whoever.

Candice jumping the guardrail was a great way to get her on the show. Made perfect sense too and does not commit her to TV yet either.

I thought Ember vs Shayna was a strong narrative-driven match. All the stuff I've seen from Shayna so far has just been that of a really good heel. I probably wouldn't want to watch this style of bout all the time, but I think they told a really good story with Ember constantly fighting off the armbar and stopping Baszler from fully extending it.

Mauro is a brilliant commentator too, hypes everything up to the tenth degree and is the perfect person to commentate on Baszler matches with his MMA background.

Rockstar Spud just got a fast track to the main roster as 205 Live’s new GM. I hope his fiancée Renee Michelle is signed soon! She’s got a background in MMA as well as experience in wrestling in Japan. We all know how hard WWE’s current boner is for those two things.

Psycho gimmicks tend to have me rolling my eyes a bit but I can see why people like Nikki Cross. The highlight of the match for me was actually the very start where Nikki completely destroyed Lacey with a crossbody. It was both super impactful and also a creative way to start a match (and one befitting her persona). Lacey herself came across a bit better than she did from her previous match against Aliyah.

Interested to see what happens at tomorrow's tapings...

I hated how hard Lacey Evans was pushed during the MYC but I’m loving the heel elitist Southern belle character that she’s twisted her gimmick into. Reminds me of Amber O’Neill and Krissy Vaine back in the day.

I'm guessing that match was filmed before Takeover which would explain why it was relatively limited?

I agree about Lacey; her early stuff was giving me Rayna Von Tosh teas and I wasn't into it. Where she's at now is a lot better than "former marine" in that hideous khaki outfit. Her theme song is still awful though.

Feb 14th: NXT Women’s Championship: Ember Moon (c) vs Shayna Baszler. Shayna wins by disqualification after Kairi Sane runs in and attacks her. Shayna was about to break Ember’s arm but Kairi made the save.

Feb 21: Nikki Cross defeated Vanessa Borne with the swinging fishermans neckbreaker. Vanessa has a new look

So maybe a triple threat match at the next Takeover?

Not sure how I feel about Vanessa's new look, I'm going to assume based off the pix, that they are going with a BDSM look? I thought the WWE was trying to get away from that sort of thing? Not that I'm complaining mind you, as I like it and all, just find it interesting that that is something they would do with the women's revolution their promoting.

I'm also down for a triple threat at the next TakeOver, not sure who takes the fall, though if Ember gets called up it won't hurt her.

No doubt that Vanessa is gonna go through another change before she possibly gets called up in the future.  I don't think a dominatrix gimmick in WWE would make it past the front door.

2/28: Shayna Baszler defeats Kairi Sane with the Kirifuda Clutch

3/7: Bianca Belair defeated a jobber

3/14: Dakota Kai defeated Lacey Evans. Shayna came out post match but was cut off from attacking Dakota by Ember, and a title match was announced for Takeout: New Orleans. Ember and Shayna brawl and Shayna gets the upper hand before Dakota made the save, leading to Ember laying Shayna out with the Eclipse.

They haven't done a whole lot at these tapings to fix the problems most people have with Ember floundering as champion.
It seems inevitable that Shayna will win the title in NOLA.

I know I said it last time, but I REALLY doubt Shayna is losing. Generally a heel getting a rematch means they're winning it for real this time around. See JBL/Eddy and Alexa/Becky for recent examples.

Meltzer claimed they just haven't had any storylines written for them, but Peyton has had her boobs done and therefore probably couldn't wrestle for a while.

Peyton getting her boobs done is probably a signal she's gonna be called up soon/get a push, hopefully? The last time someone was out for a boob job, IIRC, was Charlotte. LOL.

I do hope they continue to use Dakota Kai well. She already has a built-in story with Shayna and can step in easily as the first challenger for the belt that Shayna will swat away. I doubt she'll win the title, but I'd like to see her get an NXT match a la Becky and show people just what she's made of.
