I know most people hate the idea of adding more time to nxt , but the women's division could use a lot more time.
Right now if you're not in the title picture you are either wrestling squash matches against enhancement talent, or random singles matches that go nowhere. Which leads to very good talents (Dakota for instance) taking forever to debut , and not really being able to sustain any momentum.
I'd welcome WWE producing some nxt web matches , and more web segments if only for my own personal enjoyment.

I don't really care what anyone says about Baszler - I think this feud is really good. Tonight's match advanced the storyline well and was well performed by all three women. Ember's initial flurry was great and captured the emotion at this stage of the feud. Her suicide dive onto the announce desk was really spectacular.

I also loved Kairi marching up the steps to punch Shayna. :lol:

Oh yeah, and Shayna can cut a promo too.

Found some fancam footage of the Zelina/Andrade vs Candice/Johnny mixed tag they did at tonight's house show and it was so good! I can't believe they're (seemingly) going to pass up on doing that on TV.

I guess they could still do a straight Zelina vs Candice match? Judging by their parts they've definitely got some good chemistry.

So while the NXT roster is great the booking and usage of the women is kind of not the greatest. If you are not in the title scene you only sporadically appear, and there are no secondary feuds at all. Plus the TV matches are generally short when the male wrestlers get long TV matches regularly.

Kaii beat Vanessa with the elbow

Two matches in a 3 and half hour taping. Not good.  

Shayna is just so boring and bland.

Kairi and Ember are much more fun to watch.

Well that's kind of the point. 

Dex is right though, that's a very disappointing taping. They didn't really do much to build to the Takeover match, nor have they really built anyone up to be in the next title feud. If Shayna wins then I guess Kairi will challenge her, but we've already seen that.

They just do random matches with Bianca, Vanessa, Lacey etc but they're all on so infrequently - no one has any direction or momentum. I think it would be better if they reduce the amount of people on TV at once and commit more to a secondary feud rather than these spot matches.

Or if you are going to use a bunch of women, place them outside of the division.  Vanessa kind of sucks in the ring but has a great look, have her valet for someone and have the occasional mixed tag match. Same with Lacey to a lesser extent have her manage Culter and Blake like they have tested on the Florida houseshows. If you aren't going to have secondary feuds at least allow the women to develop their characters outside of the division .     

I'm also annoyed with the time the TV matches have been getting or the lack thereof. The men get long tv matches ( 10 + minutes ), but the women rarely do if they  ever, when a match like Shayna could have used another 3 or 4 minutes. 

Shayna is very good at being an unlikeable heel. She knows how to get heat. There hasn't been a crowd in the matches I've watched that has been indifferent towards Baszler. People are invested 1 way or the other.

Kimber Lee and Rosie Lottalove have just been released. I think more names are coming. Aliyah better count her blessings.

Zelina is a shockingly good base for her size. I mean Candice is small herself but still.

She's never bee a base for another wrestler ( lifting them up for lucha moves or whatever) in the matches I've seen of her outside of NXT.

I feel like I've seen her do that back in Impact as Rosita

It's strange with all the progress the main roster has made, that NXT has backtracked so much ever since basically Asuka left. Outside of the talent level it's giving e 2013-2014 divas vibes.

Short uneventful matches? Check

Only one segment a night? Check
Less than 4 women being used in the division? Check
No secondary feuds? Check

Every other division frequently gets long matches and segments while the women get what is ever left over. It makes the division so boring.

Really want to see Dakota in some longer matches.

APRIL 18TH EPISODE:
* Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are out to a big pop. Gargano is happy to finally have his life back after the feud with Tommaso Ciampa. He thanks Candice for sticking with him through the past few months and says tonight they will take care of some unfinished business. Candice vs. Zelina Vega is announced for tonight. Gargano promises to become the next #1 contender to the NXT Title.
* Candice LeRae defeated Zelina Vega. After the match, Gargano issues a challenge to NXT Champion Aleister Black. Black comes out and accepts the match for next week

APRIL 25TH EPISODE:
* Kairi Sane defeated Australian indie wrestler Shazza McKenzie from Shine. After the match, Lacey Evans comes to the ring and apologizes to Kairi for comments after their TV match in New Orleans. Lacey offers a handshake but turns and drops Kairi with the mic.

MAY 2ND EPISODE:
* Bianca Belair defeated Candice LeRae.
* Dakota Kai defeated Vanessa Borne. After the match, new NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler hits the ring and intimidates Kai into the corner and beats Borne down.

And nothing for the May 9th episode. It's unclear yet who the next challenger will be for Chicago. Kairi will seem to continue with her feud with Lacey, and they might give Dakota a title shot or two in between. If the next set of tapings can make it clear that Kairi's gunning for Shayna, then that's the likeliest Chicago match we can have. Otherwise, have Dakota step in first and Kairi on the following Takeover in Brooklyn.

Johnny Gargano appeared with Candice LeRae, visibly elated to be welcomed back. He looked as his graphics on various screens with a validated expression. He pointed out his goosebumps, and said dreaming of returning “home” got him through those 37 intense minutes at TakeOver. He reiterated in detail why he had been feuding with Tommasso Ciampa. He credited the crowd with “shoving those ‘Johnny Wrestling’ signs in Ciampa’s face,” and thanked everyone for having his back before pledging his love for LeRae. Gargano went on to suggest he and LeRae only have one last piece of unfinished business. LeRae said she will be wrestling Zelina Vega. Gargano threatened, “If Almas gets involved, I will drop him like his name was Tommasso Ciampa.” Gargano then challenged Aleister Black for the NXT Championship.

(4) Candice LeRae submitted Zelina Vega. Vega entered to Andrade Almas’ theme. Vega shoved LaRae, but LeRae quickly took control. Almas leapt the barricade to distract LeRae before the match had even gone 60 seconds. When Johnny Gargano soared in to respond, Vega dumped LeRae out of the ring and in to his path so he could not reach Almas. After some brief action, LeRae locked in the Gargano Escape. Almas attempted to interfere but found himself in a Gargano Escape as well, courtesy Gargano himself. Vega then tapped. Gargano took the mic to reiterate his challenge to Aleister Black, who immediately entered from stage left looking quite dapper. Aleister simply stated, “You want it? Then next week you shall have it.”

(1) Kairi Sane pinned Shazza McKenzie. Sane caught a blown kiss from McKenzie, threw it away, and mimed watching it disappear in to the distance through a telescope. Sane got in her signature spots, and earned victory with her diving elbow.
Lacey Evans interrupted Sane’s celebration to feign an apology for her prior statements. Sane debated accepting before Evans knocked her straight to the ground with a hard forearm.

(4) Bianca Belair pinned Candice LeRae. LeRae entered, looking dejected, with no explanation for her demeanor. Belair made her way to the ring to a new theme that opens with a whipping sound effect. The contest appeared even until Belair deadlifted LeRae and planted her face-first in the turnbuckle. LeRae mounted a comeback but was easily swatted down. Following Belair’s celebration, LeRae remained in the ring, gathering her strength.

(3) Dakota Kai pinned Vanessa Borne. Borne instructed the fans to “shut up” as they chanted for Kai. Kai went for her finishing kick early and Borne evaded, leaping at the window of opportunity. Borne demanded the crowd cheer for her. Each wrestler took a turn on offense, and after successfully chaining two of her signature kicks in a row Kai emerged victorious with a sunset flip lumbar check.
Shayna Baszler entered and confronted Kai, but instead locked a chokehold on Borne. Kai watched, wanting to help but knowing it wouldn’t end well either way. Kai exited, no desirable solution available.


Okay, they might be filming a segment related to Candice for the way she acted dejected during the Bianca Belair match, especially just after she beat Zelina in a previous match. I wonder what that is.

Wow, that's a much better angle and it does look awesome. Thank goodness Dakota is a bit small and she only stays on the opponent's back for a little while. She can continue to use the corner Yakuza kick for opponents who won't be able to carry her, but it looks like a pretty easy bump for opponents anyway.

Candice/Zelina was so short! A real disappointment from that perspective but what they did was fun.

I liked the backstage segment with Shayna interrupting Serena's women's division meeting. They are booking her the way I imagine they'd like to do with Brock if he actually gave a shit.
