Sane/Baszler has now gone full circle.

Kairi beat Shayna in the finals of the Mae Young Classic. And now they'll face off again for Shayna's Women's Title at TakeOver Brooklyn IV.

I like where the women's division is going. They have Dakota, Lacey, Kairi, Shayna, Nikki, Candice, and Bianca as the main seven, with Vanessa circling around to lose here and there. I think they've done well defining each woman and they've all put on some solid matches in some capacity together.



Especially tonight, as we got two good matches with Dakota/Lacey and Kairi/Nikki/Candice. I really hope they don't hot shot Lacey and Bianca. Give them one more year. They are improving so quick.


Also, I believe the point of putting Bianca in the match even though she was never gonna be in it was just as a way to show she's in championship contendership. No harm in it, I think.

Both matches tonight were longer than either championship match on Sunday.

Some of Candice's stuff can look a bit weak, but boy is that Lionsault beautiful.

I love Belair, but that's ridiculous, especially based on that interview. It was less than 60 seconds, fairly generic heel shpiel. Her delivery is good and she has a unique attitude, but it's hardly "greatest promo in the company" material.

Kairi Sane in the contract signing. Yikes. I haven't cringed that hard at a wrestling promo in a long time. Even Baeszler had to cover her mouth to stop from laughing and she still couldn't contain the smile.

I am hardly outraged, but that's more reasonable. Still, in a company with Alexa Bliss, Belair is second place at best.

Marina Shafir had her first match tonight.

Her attire is kinda blah tbh

Nice little TV match between Shayna and Candice this week, well worth watching.

I'm hoping/predicting Kairi vs Bianca and Candice vs Lacey for feuds post-Brooklyn.

She might fare better if she gets drawn with someone experienced in the MYC but if tonight's match was anything to go by, Taynara has got quite a long way to go. Her and Vanessa was...not good.

What happened in the Conti match @admin, Conti seemed to burst into hysterics. And I dont think it was planned.

I think she was just trying to get across her desperation to qualify - Mauro talked on commentary about how they were both in the MYC last year but only one would get the spot this time - but yeah it did come across a bit awkwardly. Strange choice in general to put out a random heel vs heel match like that I thought, especially considering both girls are rarely on TV.

Alright Violent Kairi this week was awesome and legitimately has me excited for this match now when I was a bit underwhelmed previously. Really good go-home segment.

Really enjoyable match between Bianca and Deonna this week. Purazzo is a great signing, has a significantly different style to anyone else in WWE and is so technically sound you can see her having good matches with basically everyone.

That's Bianca's second straight good pre-Takeover TV match now - lets hope she gets the main card next time!

Yeah I thought the Bianca Belair/Deonna Purrazzo match was entertaining.

Deonna got too show those who aren't familiar with her, what she's capable of doing, prior to the Mae Young Classic, and Bianca continues to be impressive. I really like Belair, both her and Lacey Evans have come along way in the last year, and are two women I look forward to watching in the ring.

Short but sweet.

Deonna is very obviously technically sound. I look forward to how she evolves as a WWE talent ie showmanship, costumes, etc. I also wish she was a little more vocal.

I love seeing the growth in confidence with Bianca! She’s always a treat to watch.

Are they going to stretch Kairi vs Shayna out to Evolution? There's still another taping between these three episodes and the PPV but this feels like the most appropriate NXT title match they can do for the big stage.

Probably especially since Bianca is occupied in a mini-feud as of these tapings.

Bianca and Nikki main evented NXT tonight.

Two of the most complete packages in the NXT women’s division. I’d say Bianca maybe has another year in Orlando, tops, but Nikki is long overdue for a call up. Kinda disappointed that her character’s been tweaked to be more looney than psychotic but she’s got the talent to pull anything off.

Squash by Shayna over a jobber and Kairi, Lacey, Aliyah, Dakota and Deonna also made appearances.

Kacy and Ricochet vs Velveteen Dream and Vanessa Bourne sounds like it would have been an amazing! It's a shame we don't get to see stuff like this on the network. I love that they did little promo pics for a house show match.

Lacey Evans is very talented for her experience level, I just wish she had a more interesting finisher. The tag match was fun I don't get why so much of the IWC hate Alliyah.

At the risk of sounding like Nath (ew.) people tend to forget that NXT is still developmental - and amongst all the really awesome wrestling that comes out of there, there's still going to be (and is certainly room for) people finding their way. As a result if you're not getting a push/making your claim for a main roster call-up there's a tendency for them to be written off. Aliyah's been on NXT TV for nearly 3 years now which is a long time in comparison to most, especially for someone that's still losing most of their matches so people automatically assume she'll never amount to anything rather than just looking at the talent.

Plus there's probably an element of her being unpopular because she's got a "diva-ish" gimmick.

.Yeah, and  I mean she's just going to be 24 this year so she's still really young. 

I also think the diva-ish gimmick as you put it is a good explanation. Peyton and Billie seem to get some dislike for this as well, even though Peyton especially is a very solid wrestler. 

If you guys remember on Breaking Ground, Aliyah really didn’t do herself any favors with how she came across. Granted, it was three years ago but the majority of WWE fans are not the type of audience to present a Kardashian mood board to and not expect shit for it.

She’s really swift and crisp but needs a little something to legitimize her.

I do wonder what’s in store for Deonna though. She doesn’t seem like a gimmicky character artist.
