It still feels weird to have a Cody vs QT Marshall rivalry be a BLOOD FEUD where Cody is so filled with rage he starts hulking up and no-selling being whipped across the back.
Like, it's QT Marshall.

Cody is trying to make this seem like a big feud but QT isn't nearly on his level.

Not sure how to feel about this debut, since I'm already leaning on the side of is AEW becoming "What's he doing in the Dynamite Zone" and quite frankly it feels like they have enough young talent to build up already without having to hire every WWE budget cut.

It is nice Cody got him a quality opponent after the QT feud.

Kinda digging this 'wrestling peaked in the 90s' ascended smark gimmick
EDIT: he complains that he's sat through 90 minutes of the show and was generally entertained but still wants to dump all over the product. He really is us doing Raw parties, isn't he?

Just enjoy it. AEW is giving the misfits a place to actually show what we've been missing. I popped. That was so cool. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, head to Tommy End's instagram page and watch the video he posted today. It explains his new character and is super awesome.

Really thought they'd close the first show on the road with a title change. That's too bad. Kingston deserves some hardware.

So rumor is Tommy End's contract was never updated to prepare for his release and he had only a 30 day no compete clause at the time of his release that WWE may not legally be able to claim was an accident and correct now that they did let him go, since it can be seen as retaliatory to try to extend it now.
AEW may be able to pick him up and shock debut him really soon.

PW Insider is reporting exactly that. Because they didn't update his contract when he made his main roster debut he was able to not only appear on their first live show on the road, but he has a fresh storyline/character that he can continue on Dynamite.
WWE fucked up some paperwork and literally handed AEW an amazing wrestler with an awesome new angle at the worst possible time.

Almas, Black.. it hurts to say this, AEW might be.. getting better. Hire Buddy and give me a triple threat and I'm all in.
That's what the marks say right? All in?

I'm really happy to see Maverick Black in AEW. I was worried that with Zelina Vega going to the WWE Aleister would follow along although it was clear that the WWE didn't know what to do with him. Maverick is one of those acts that belongs around these guys and I think he can provide another dynamic to the show. Like Nath was saying between him and Andrade AEW have got two really solid additions to their roster.
It's going to be interesting to see how this feud with Cody Rhodes will go, whether Maverick will go over or if they'll split it. For whatever reason, Cody is the one act that is beginning to rub people the wrong way. I think it has to do with his character, he just comes off like a diplomat and it feels we've lost sight of him. When he was over in 2019, it was because he was a grieving son trying his best to honour his dad and the fans got behind him. Since the neck tattoo, the pat on the back TNT Championship reign and the stuff with Shaq he doesn't feel relatable.
I'm not sure what to make of the QT Marshal feud. On one hand it got a lot of guys on screen and an opportunity to impress - I think that's what they were going for. But just in terms of writing it kind of felt like an old school wrestling angle except QT has never gotten over and they did a poor job of making him the heel in the feud.
On the whole it seemed like AEW took it up another notch and we're very close to the pre-pandemic quality where the show was beginning to find it's groove.

I can see making Black a high priority but I still don't see what people see in Andrade as being special.
And don't see him doing that spinning elbow with Jericho doing the Judas.

Andrade just carries himself like a star and is a safer investment than the Lucha Bros who AEW haven't really been able to sink their teeth into just yet.
I think he's a quality worker as well as he demonstrated way back in NJPW in 2014 and against Gargano in 2018.

Man, between the video Black released on instagram yesterday and the fake blackout then real blackout last night, as well as the stuff he talked about in his twitch streams, I could really see Black being huge in AEW.
AEW makes some bone head decisions with their booking but when they let stories and characters occur naturally they almost always nail it. That's the one thing Black and Rusev and Andrade and others had been missing.
Now we have Miro as a warrior god with the TNT Title, Andrade as an awesome heel, and now Black looking to be the guy that finally puts Cody Rhodes in his place.
He's like The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt had a baby. What a gift WWE has handed them.

The only problem is that AEW continues to take jabs at "The Other Channel" yet have no qualms of raiding their talent when available and if they are seriously playing off Black's eye injury at the hands of another released star(Formerly Murphy), that just means they're biting off something WWE made and produced with Black. That would not be a problem if someone like Chris Jericho didn't mock the same said creative whenever he gets a chance to.
I can't believe Black is selling the eye, it makes sense for continuity but that happened on a brand that your new company profusely mocks and pokes at. Would love to hear Tony Khan's reasoning on this.

He had one of THE best entrances, timing was perfect and still...they fucked it up. Wyatt how many times too?

Would love to hear Tony Khan's reasoning on this. How are you missing the point so easily? It isn't about the talent and never was. It's about creative. The main complaint everyone has about WWE is that the creative sucks and they waste talent. AEW is taking jabs at them while also signing said talent and going "see? This is what you had. It's ours now." I don't see anything wrong with that.
