That's where the Japanese culture divide is to older American. We get it as video gamers that there are so many quirks in Japanese entertainment that would never fly in America but to 50+ year old males, this is completely foreign. Seeing Kenny Omega do Final Atomic Busters to blowup dolls or getting involved in spanking matches with other men may be hilarious in Japan but in America, to some it's ridiculous. Cornette would fall into that territory.

I'm not an avid WhatCulture watcher but I don't think any of them wish death on any of the wrestlers or wish that they'd be boiled in oil and have their fat sold for soap. Do they try and create a movement and use homophobic and sexist language in their criticisms?

Update: Jim responded on the latest episode of the Experience.

It's not that surprising to see Jim come up with the appropriate response. I agree if you actually listened to Cornette rushing the ring would be the last thing you'd do. It will be interesting to see if he responds to accusations that he incited the incident, hopefully he just leaves it and allows this to be his position.

I don't use Twitter & besides PW, I only frequented the Chikara forum consistently. I visited The MOTHERSHIP for a while. That is the place where most of the Corny crazies live. I really disliked my experience there, so I left. I can't speak on fanbases I'm not familiar with. If there is constant hatred by a segment of those fanbases that goes beyond the confines of the ring, then I'll agree with you. Until that time comes, you can't make an apples-to-apples comparison.

I’m surprised AEWBotches doesn’t get more traction. Most of the botches are on their internet shows but some of them are quite scary. On a few occasions they’ve been close to getting someone seriously hurt.

The thing is Corny is pro liberal is so anti religion and anti-Trump which makes it odd to compare him to the likes of those people. Pewdiepie is a gamer, Cornette is a wrestling podcast talker. Nobody should be taking their words to the heart honestly and I think I and many others often laugh at his hyperbole and know he is ignorant when it comes to discussing women's wrestling and know he hates the people he hates and loves the people he loves. He does have some good knowledge here and there and often when he critiques a said company, he does offer up what he'd do instead. When he bashed Becky Lynch for getting pregnant, he wasn't being toxic about it, he just hated seeing people in their prime and in their top spot throw money away in his eyes. He respected both Becky and Seth as workers & as people but didn't get the decision to put pregnancy/birth over wrestling, I didn't get the vibe he was being hateful in that but people took it 10x and made it much more than what it felt hearing what he said. 

People latch onto them to make them the fall guy for their own grownup decisions and said fuck ups. This is the same ignorance I have to hear Thompson spit out whenever a shooting occurs in a school, "ITS THE VIDEO GAMES LIKE GRAND THEFT AUTO AND RAP MUSIC THAT IS POISONING THE YOUTH TO DO THIS". It's not, plenty of people use that medium in moderation and know it's fiction and exaggerated. Putting some sort of thought and understanding of this guy's tweet gives the guy the satisfaction of relevance and is indicating he is smart, which he isn't because he did absolutely nothing. 

He failed in ROH due to budget IIRC and where a clown like A-Trouble was the highest paid worker on the brand despite being a manager. According to Cornette, he had to pay out of his pocket the wrestlers at one point in ROH. Cornette has a good mind for the business, I don't agree with him all the time but even Jim Ross(Who a lot of people in AEW hate his honesty like Brandon Cutler), Tony Schiavone and somewhat Chris Jericho know he has the gift of the gab and has a method to the madness somewhere in what he is saying. Wrestling dirtsheets and the like pick out the catchy 2-3 word highlights of his rants but he does offer up what he would have done instead of what is being shown, he isn't just shitting on something for the sake of. He even says Kenny Omega has a great physique and looks the part, it's just every thing else bothers him.

For him to do this podcast and the like for as long as he has done it, is quite an accomplishment. Like him or not.

Zero problem with Corny laying into scrubs like Kip Sabian who did wish him dead and his wife bringing in Cornette's wife and the rumored kinkshaming she did. Jelly Janela also tries to tweak Cornette unprovoked lately because he's become so irrelevant of a character in AEW. 

AEW "stars" aren't victims here, they take as many shots at other people as they can but when the tide is turned, they cry foul. That's where I think a lot of people get annoyed with them. The Elite storm into WWE headquarters and poke the bear, they then lose usage of WWE owned intellectual properties and then cry foul that the WWE is after them :lol:.

I remember when Corny was doing reviews on the events that happened before Dynamite come into existence. I didn't know much about AEW. I found it odd that he would pay attention to the product back then.

The guy mentioned other people like Vince Russo as well, he's using them to deflect the blame and if charges are pressed against him. I am not sure why you want to give highlight to this guy as to giving him some motive as if he was thinking about what he was doing when he stormed the ring. For all we know, the fan was mentally ill and depriving attention after 2020 and part of 2021 was pandemic wise with isolation and all. 

There's no reason to shame other people for listening to the show, I think everyone condemns this clown though. Just because you listen to Jim Cornette does not mean you have low IQ like Kenny Omega stated, some people laugh at what he says and like his hyperbole on everything and anything and can take away things from what he's saying vs things he's clearly wrong(Well in my opinion). I love The Miz, Cornette hates the guy, cool. Cornette excused JBL through all of his bullying and harassment of Mauro Ranallo, I think JBL is a POS for doing all of that and a terrible coworker by all accounts who didn't learn from when Joey Styles clowned him. 

I don't agree with everything he says but there's a place for him in wrestling today and it's good to have critics or people bold enough to speak on what a company does bad just as much as it does good. Without the criticism like the end of 2019 with The Dark Order storming the ring and having the missed punches on Dustin Rhodes, AEW would think they're doing a good job when they weren't in cases like this. Criticism as long as there's reason within it is healthy for a company's growth. You don't just want to listen to yes men like Alvarez or Meltzer who may or may not be getting paid under the table for fake praise. 

I like corny in small doses. I'll give those videos usually 5 minutes before I turn it off. Anyone that obsesses over the guy is probably on the edge of insanity anyway.

Exactly. I've never understood why Corny gives full reviews of AEW. Small doses are cool.
