That may have been the death knell, but they been bleeding fans (and talent) for a decade before that. Frankly, IMO, they never recovered from TNA and WWE raiding them in the late 2000's early 2010's. They just never found guys to fill the void that people like AJ, Joe, Dragon, Nigel, Steen, Generico, Punk and others left. Then the ELITE all leaving was the final circuit. They have a few good guys left, but they are not aggressive enough finding the next top guys to bring in.

I think them not digging in deep after women's talent hurt, feels sort of like a missed chance on their end. It allowed Impact to sort of etch that for themselves. And the Joey Mercury whistleblowing really damaged them from a reputation standpoint amongst pure wrestling fans, Scurll's metoo movement may have been less bigger than that. 

Yeah it felt like they peaked then it was just one blow after another each getting worse and worse. The Mercury stuff was really bad. Finding out they guys had to do their own security and Shelley was basically their backstage medic was a seriously bad look before you get into the concussion shit.

On Marty, there's possibly a high likelihood that he can't travel to the US if he is still living in the UK. With no end in sight, its probably why they've come to a mutual agreement.
