Makes me wonder if that's where Bubba got his full nelson thing from. It's like looking at the move in the gif and thinking... this could work but we gotta spin it around. Those early brand split days of throwing guys in singles programs to see what sticks was always wild.

Rick Rude's rough day at the June 93 Clash is a collection of comedy spots done right...

Faarooq breaking out the big offense while wearing his best gear. Both were 'first time' moves that popped me huge back in the day...

I love the idea of the Dominator. By time I was a fan he had long since stopped using it as part of the apa so it really only existed in games for the most part.
Also reminds me how much I loved the Oklahoma Stampede.

*The entire Borga vs. Jannetty and Bomb vs. Lafitte matches were so good. I'm just saying... Just watched this masterpiece again and decided the match that introduced me to workrate deserved some more giffing... Pierre has always been a maniac. It's a shame this glorious nutjob had to wait 25 years to gain a cult following that should've been Foleyesque back in the 90s

In the midst of some boyish horseplay I hit him with a double wristlock Northern Lights Suplex onto our couch that I saw in this very match. The suplex that forged a friendship... ============ I was a Jean Pierre Lafitte fan before it was cool but discredit where it's due. I cannot find a single good clip of JPL waving his sweet flag! Forget The Clique. I am now convinced lack of flag waving is why he failed. You have a sweet flag like that, you wave it as much as possible. Simple logic. But he didn't, and now I am stuck without a sweet new avatar. smh. The above clips are the best I could do to showcase JPL's sweet flag. ============= Never mind. Think I found my sweet new Al Snow after all. Thank you for that 5* sign, world's other Dean Douglas fan. Bonus points for miraculously drawing my high school Environmental Science teacher...

In my backyard days I think I did a great backdrop as I utilized it like that or more often as a counter to a powerbomb. And just between us (never tell my shoot brother) it was mostly because I always struggled to pull off a proper one. Once pedigreed a friend on his carpet UPSTAIRS in his room. Don't remember if the rents were home at his house at the time so cannot report back on hearing any "the fucks going on up there" side commentary from the kitchen. Seriously some of the stuff kids do and it's a wonder the whole piledriver death incident wasn't more frequent. People loved the Mike Knox crossbody but man the gif thread just buries it now in terms of being cosmetic. And who doesn't love a bridging northern lights. Say what you will about Benoit, but we got one of those fuckers in a mania main event. Granted we can't ever see it again thanks to him... And the plex... god dude seeing the semi struggle/potential botch cringe really is what I love about wrestling. Like the whole not perfect/choreographed, the grit of it, is why I loved wrestling. I do think the further we strayed from "old school" the less effective the juice was. But I guess that's what fueled mma. GODDAMN that roll into the cover in the gif following the superplex.

Watched the infamous Paul Roma vs. Alex Wright match, and as much of an asshole as Roma was in that match, man, this is one of the coolest elbow drops of all time. No choice but to respect it.
