I am actually a fan of Cody, so he gets over and stays over I am for it.  Dude is the new Hitman when it comes to kids.  They go nuts for him.  I just seen Cody in many other feds get to the top and not really know how to stay over.  Granted it was not in WWE, and maybe they can finally give him the face run he has been prepping for.

But you're right. If he wins the titles, what does he do next?

Put him in a ring with Sami as an opponent, he's the heel. Potentially the same with KO. If Orton returns, Orton is the babyface unless Orton is incredibly vicious in his attack on a babyface Cody. It will be difficult as there are so many well established main event babyfaces including Drew, Sheamus and Seth sort of plays a tweener role.

There isn't a super-heel outside of Roman in the main event. Jimmy and Jey aren't contenders in a post-covid world and Balor, GUNTHER and Theory make for a good TV challenger.

But all of this is no fault of Cody. There just hasn't been a red hot heel for the last few years the same way there has been an abundance of new babyfaces in WWE.

I'd say fuck it to a babyface run and have him turn on Sami. Cody in his run to Wrestlemania heard nothing but " Sami, Sami, Sami... " etc, it's an easy pitch to carry WWE to Summerslam and the eventual return of Roman Reigns (who I assume takes time off if he drops the belts)

Roman is the type of guy that would blame The Usos anyway. If he loses, he should lose straight up. Because when Roman snaps, he needs to beat up The Usos to absolve himself of any blame. Nothing is ever Roman's fault. That's what makes him the best bad guy of all-time.
