Everyone knows the cliché dream matches: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Goldberg, vs. Hogan, vs. Cena, vs. Punk, vs. Lesnar; Undertaker vs. Sting; etc. etc. etc. But I want to know what are some of your personal offbeat dream matches? Bonus points if there's a chance they could've actually happened (i.e., wrestlers involved were actually alive and in decent enough shape at overlapping times) and even more bonus points if you care to elaborate on how you'd book the build and/or match itself. This idea was prompted by thinking it's a shame I'll never get to see T&A vs. Fire & Ice, and it's even a kick in the nuts that we didn't get T&A vs. Kronik in 2001.

Two monster mashups that could've been so bad they'd surely have been great:
1993: Giant Gonzalez (w/ Harvey Wippleman & Kim Chee) vs. Kamala (w/ Slick)
2007: Umaga (w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada) vs. The Great Khali

Umaga vs Khali would not be very good. Like Umaga needed someone to take his offense and Khali would never be that guy.
Taz vs Umaga would be fun, kind of like the BBB stuff only better.

I always wanted to see The Rock and Lita vs HHH and Steph back in 2000.
It was meant to happen but then we got the infamous Trips/Trish segment on Smackdown, when they were meant to be teaming against Y2J/Lita, then Trips walked out after Stephanie caught them. Then on Raw Foley booked this match, but HHH called Stephanie Trish by accident, so Steph walked out and Foley assigned Trish as HHH’s replacement partner.
They could’ve done it the Smackdown before Summerslam, after Lita won the title and they were both champs, but we ended up with Rock/Lita vs Steph/Kurt which then obvs lead to the love triangle so it was just a case of timing but this Lita mark would have loved to see it go down.

On the contrary, I think Umaga could've played a compelling underdog monster and further think you're underrating Umaga's bumping and selling abilities. Based on the size differential and the fact no one likes Khali, I just presumed Umaga would be playing de facto face in this match too. I suppose we could've had a shot at Taz vs. Umaga IRL in the form of Tazz vs. Jamal of 3-Minute Warning... maybe in mid-2002 on some UK-only PPV?

Obvious Umaga would have to do the majority of the bumping but there’s no reason why they can’t do something fast, strong and sudden like Lesnar/Goldberg, Lesnar/McIntyre etc etc —— Going back to my Lita markdom - Lita/Trish/Steph (2000) and Lita/Trish/Mickie (2006) seemed like such obvious missed matches for Summerslam both years. At the time they would have seemed like a throwaway match to combine the feuds but looking back now at the careers of all of them, it’s a missed dream match to me.

Still turn the Road Warriors heel in 1988 but have that happen as debutants in the WWF by destroying the Megapowers on SNME. LOD vs Megapowers at Summerslam '88!

Some random ones... Considering Kurt was a heel until 2001 and Malenko was too and then he retired... Did we ever get a Kurt vs. Malenko match? Kurt wrestled at least half the Radicalz ad nauseum, and I'm sure considering their overlap he had a match somewhere at some point with Saturn... But Malenko? Bringing up Hakushi makes me think of how I love/hate Baker-man for putting HBK vs. Hakushi in my head as a coulda/woulda/shoulda dream match. Did Kevin Nash vs. Vader ever take place in any capacity? Especially early 1996 WWF? Feel like that would've been a great Battle of the Powerbombs.

According to wrestlingdata.com Angle and Malenko never crossed paths, good call though. Vader and Nash (as Oz) teamed up against the Patriots in late 1991 WCW. Their only other encounter was in the 1996 Royal Rumble. Vader vs. Lex Luger, we had a teaser at Starrcade '91 as they were in the final four of Battlebowl, that's all I can think of. Lex Luger vs Paul Orndorff Bam Bam Bigelow vs Kamala either in the 80's or New Generation WWF Dynamite Kid vs Ricky Steamboat Brock Lesnar vs Batista- I even looked it up, they had one match on Raw in 2003 and a few encounters in OVW.

Sabu vs. Undertaker (1996/1997)
Rey Mysterio vs. The Great Sasuke (1994-1997)

Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage
The greatest triple threat match that predates triple threat matches, so rarely cited.

I wonder if he's still cheap AF.

This idea was prompted by thinking it's a shame I'll never get to see T&A vs. Fire & Ice First thing I thought of upon reading the thread title was Bradshaw vs. Scott Norton leading to the big money APA vs. Fire & Ice hossfight of the century. So many of the ones you guys mentioned did happen.....in my various fanfic and draft projects. Shootist pretty sure Kamala vs. Bigelow happened in real life. Let me check real quick.... Yep. Two of their matches are freely available on Youtube. ================ A few more... Hakushi vs. 2 Cold Scorpio New Jack vs. Disco Inferno New Jack vs. Jeff Jarrett Lord Steven Regal vs. Jacques Rougeau with both guys trying to out-heel each other Lord Steven Regal vs. Henry Godwinn Midnight Express vs. Rockers Steiners vs. Furnas & LaFon Mr. Perfect vs. Ricky Steamboat Barry Windham vs. Ted Dibiase Owen Hart vs. Kurt Angle Owen Hart vs. Rey Mysterio The Giant vs. Vader

🤯 Jeff wrestled one of his heroes, Sabu, in some TNA multi-mans and in an internet/Apter Mag famous NC indie tag match before the Hardys were stars, but I don't think they ever had a one on one match.

I knew Bundy and Bigelow had a minor tiff but never knew two of the more colorful LJN's of the era actually hooked it up. Some more, since Baker sparked some other ideas for New Jack, including my only dream situation for John Cena: New Jack vs Abdullah The Butcher New Jack vs. Terry Funk New Jack vs. John Cena Barry Windham vs. Randy Orton Owen Hart vs. Eddie Guerrero

Whoops. @ness is right. Forgot about that Owen/Angle dark match. For obvious reasons I think of them as competing in different eras. Shootist good call on Owen/Eddie. The Bundy/Bigelow 1987 MSG match rules. It may very well be my favorite colossal jostle. My big Cena dream match has long been Cena vs. Vader. Vader is one of the all time great dream match wrestlers. Cena vs. ECW Raven as the anti-Cena would also be cool. Ed I really liked both Sabu/Abyss matches and even recommended them to Kilgore many moons ago. TNA put together a sweet little unofficial hardcore division for a few months there in 2005 featuring a resurgent Sabu being on fire. More... Lex Luger vs. Rick Rude Owen Hart vs. RVD Brock Lesnar vs. Mick Foley

2 Cold Scorpio vs AJ Styles. I'd love AJ & starting the match as heels. Then as the match goes on, Scorpio becomes so full of himself, thinking he can flip the switch. Thinking AJ is just a young punk from the south, Eventually, AJ turns babyface. Gaining fans' respect.

I thought many others would have Owen/Eddie as a standard dream match due to the similar styles and how their careers and lives were snuffed out. Another one to put in the wrestlingdata machine to be sure I have my basis covered Nope, never happened even as a part of a tag match in 1992 WCW, may I submit to you: Barry Windham vs. Jake Roberts I thought maybe Luger and Rude crossed paths in Florida but they only shared the ring 3 times in total. Teaming in Florida in early 1986 and reuniting against Sting and Rick Steiner on WCW's 1991 European tour plus Battlebowl at Starrcade '91.
