Jeff Hardy vs Mick Foley. Christ. Chyna vs Nicole Bass. Am I doing this right? Oh man, definitely on the second one. For Jeff dream matches, did he ever cross paths with Sabu? If not, man... Can you imagine!? How about Jeff Hardy vs Rey Mysterio? We’ve never seen them in a singles that I know of, just the final two of a four way elimination with Kane and Jericho, on a SD in MSG. Man it was awesome, lots of counters and quick action. Was really interesting watching Jeff take the high flying moves, because whilst he was a cruiser weight himself he didn’t really wrestle the cruiserweight style, he was more of a risk taker so it was weird see him lifting Rey about… for example moves and catching him out of a springboard moonsault. And yes I just looked that match up YouTube cos I wasn’t sure until just now if they’d had a singles match lol

🤯 bringing up Jerry Lynn reminded me of another midcard dream match I once booked in a PW draft... Chris Benoit vs. Jerry Lynn. Turns out it actually happened on WCW Worldwide in 1996. I'm about to watch it right now.

I was outlining a rebook back in the day that had Goldberg as a monster heel coming out of Starrcade '99. Basically restarting the streak, only through combination of dominance and cheating this time to massive heat (Bobby Heenan as his mouthpiece for one last managerial run). Anyway, I was thinking of BIG MATCHES for that version of Goldberg, book him like the boxers of the PPV heyday, bring people in just to job to Goldberg, then they go elsewhere.
Goldberg vs. Vader Goldberg vs. Shamrock Goldberg vs. Severn

Battle of who has the best airbrushed dragon tights, RVD vs Ricky Steamboat.
Goldberg and RVD sort of happened on Raw in 2004 in a Battle Royal for the number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble. Booker T, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry and Randy Orton were also involved

The Hurricane vs. Shark Boy: Book a stellar rivalry and then the two form a mutual respect for one another and Shark Boy becomes Helms most truly fitting sidekick. Sorry not sorry, Rosie.
Mortis vs. The Undertaker: Similar to Hurricane/Shark Boy outcome, but with a manager angle - Vandenberg and Bearer mindcontrolling and manipulating the two until they manage to break hold from their collective spells and then they ally together to lay both of them out - cue a Flatliner and Tombstone Piledriver in sequence.
Hayabusa vs. Jeff Hardy: Specifically a ladder match with kickass high spots.
Nick Mondo vs. Jon Moxley: These could have been some amazingly brutal contests that we were potentially robbed of. Thanks, Zandig. The promos would have been fun, too. You could switch Mox for Sami but Mox compliments Mondo better I think.
Bryan Danielson vs. Dean Malenko/Mr. Perfect/Brian Pillman/Owen Hart/Pretty much any pre-2000's badass: My most conventional response here. Specifically heel Bryan in an ROH setting. Malenko would probably be my preference since I think they'd compliment each other so damn well.
Akira Tozawa vs. Steve Blackman: I have no idea why, it just sounds really fun to me. I'll mark out for Steve Blackman no matter what though. In fact, I might just have to change my avatar now.... I want Akira's ninjas and Blackman wearing the cheesehead hat. Biggest pop reserved for Al Snow and Head making the save *cough* Headcheese 4 Lyfe *cough* .
I've got soooo many more, probably some key ones I'm forgetting. This right here is my kind of thread, I'm sure I'll think of some more in the future.

That’s some good choices there. Bringing up Blackman gives me an idea
Steve Blackman vs Rob Van Dam. Both were dominant Hardcore Champions who effectively made the 24/7 rule useless as no one really challenged them under 24/7 rules like would usually happen. During the Invasion would’ve been a great filler feud for TV for RVD after his feud with Jeff. Not sure if I see it being a PPV match but it would’ve been interesting to see none the less.

Outsiders vs. Mega Powers is a long term feud headlining pay per views every single time I toy with a WCW rebook. Still can't believe WCW never booked this. Should have been one of the biggest matches/feuds of 1998. Demolition vs Acolytes in the Colossal Clubberin' also would have been cool.

So in that case would the Mega Powers actually be the heels and you keep Savage with nWo Hollywood? Some interesting dream match outtakes that didn't make the cut when we did that top 10 a few years back: Road Warriors vs. Big, Bad and Dangerous (Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow) "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Terry Funk- Could have happened after their Shotgun Saturday Night confrontation, no? Outsiders vs. Mega Powers is a long term feud headlining pay per views every single time I toy with a WCW rebook. Still can't believe WCW never booked this. Should have been one of the biggest matches/feuds of 1998. So in that case would the Mega Powers actually be the heels? Nah. Mega Powers would be the lesser of two evils in this scenario. Sting goes over Hogan clean in like 5 minutes at Starrcade. Outsiders kick Hogan out of the NWO for "going soft." You can either do this the night after Starrcade or go with the slow burn approach. I toyed around with both scenarios before settling on the slow burn because I believe in milking stuff for as long as possible. Savage eventually sides with Hogan leading to at least one main event tag match on PPV. No Wolfpack and Hollywood nonsense here. There remains just one NWO- The Outsiders streamlined NWO. Hogan & Savage are tweeners rejected by both WCW & NWO until either becoming fully embraced by WCW, or going back to the NWO when the Outsiders make a deal with the devil to help them deal with a resurgent WCW babyface squad bolstered by Goldberg, Bret, and a full time Sting. Hogan & Savage going NWO again around Halloween Havoc '98 is the better of these two scenarios. I never got super far with this project by the way. I think one time I mapped out all the 1998 PPV main events and most (all?) of the penultimate matches, but barely even scratched the surface with the undercard. The roster was too stacked, and I don't know that era like the back of my hand, so I threw in the towel pretty quickly. Then there's my "What if WCW survived?" project where the Outsiders wrestle the Mega Powers at Starrcade 01 in a "Losers Leave Town (and so do the winners!)" match to signal a new era in WCW (and score some cheap PPV buys in the process).

Steiners vs. The Eliminators Steiners vs. The Brainbusters Mega Powers vs. The Brainbusters Mega Powers vs. Demolition Mankind vs. Jake Roberts The Rock vs. Razor Ramon Ric Flair vs. Stan Hansen Mankind and Jake I guess did happen, my approach though with some of these were full on storylines between the characters. They also had this interesting dark match at a TV taping in August 1996: Jake Roberts and The Undertaker vs. Mankind and Jerry LawlerLet's do more digging, since I never did full on research into whether they never happened or not: Flair and Hansen met mostly in tags between 1978 and 1984 with only 5 singles matches to their name, all on house shows too, no big events. Austin and Funk never did happen, though they teamed numerous times in six mans with Cactus Jack against DX in early 1998. There were also these dark match gems: Austin, Undertaker, Ken Shamrock, Farooq and Terry Funk vs. Kane, Dude Love, Owen Hart, The Rock and Triple H- Raw Dark Match 6/15/1998Austin, Undertaker, Cactus Jack, Terry Funk vs. The Rock, Farooq, D-Lo Brown and Kama- Shotgun Saturday Night/Raw Dark Match 12/30/1997Steiners and Eliminators sort of happened in a six man at ECW Gangsta's Paradise in Sept 1995 also involving Taz and Jason KnightSteiner and Brainbusters were ships in the night as Tully and Arn were done in Sept. 1988 in the NWA while the Steiners didn't get going until the summer of 1989. If Tully hadn't tested positive for coke in late 1989 it could have happened. Animal was in the WWF/injured while Vader and Bigelow were doing their damage in Japan. Hawk and Kensuke Sasaki never faced them either as the Hell Raisers. Just more interaction between Vader and The Road Warriors in general was a missed opportunity. They did team in 6 mans though in the summer of 1998 against DX/DOA. Plus they did oppose each other in one of the Road Warriors last matches in Japan in the summer of 2003 for Big Japan or some lesser company like that. Animal was also captain of the good guy War Games team against Vader's team at Fall Brawl '93. Hogan I'm sure would have felt being above working against an "NWA mid card team" like Tully and Arn while the WWF was adverse to matches like Mega Powers vs. Tag Team Champs Demolition

This thread deserves a bump and I also thought of a new one this morning:
An ECW faction vs. Right To Censor in WWF.
Richards and the group start harassing Paul on commentary for his sordid past with ECW. Paul Heyman has enough and debuts the group as his muscle, exposing Steven Richards as a hypocrite for his own past with the company in a promo. Paul E uses some line like "y'know, back when you were Raven's little bitch" or something like that. That's about as far as I got with it so far.
