It depends on the talent and how they're booked.

One of the best things Jon Moxley did was change his name, change his attitude and established a clear difference between himself and Dean Ambroe. If a talent appears and they're still doing the same mid-card shtick then it's going to be difficult to accept them as a bonafide main event talent.

I think AEW has been pretty good on that front all told.

Yeah, I could not take "Stunning" Steve Austin seriously if he decided to wrestle after WCW. I mean sure he was US champion that one time, but Hacksaw pinned him in 30 seconds. Dude is a joke and clearly was carried by Pillman in WCW. Wonder whatever became of him.

Also Cactus Jack?  Dude was a lame midcard guy at best.  I mean a deranged mental hospital escape with amnesia who was off of TV for months on end?  The guy clearly could not put asses in seats.  Hell, Sullivan carried him to his tag team wins.  Another guy I bet went nowhere after WCW.

He ducked Hogan so clearly he's more stinko than stunning.

It does go other ways as well to be fair.

As a casual fan I struggled to take Jeff Jarrett seriously as WCW Champion because from my knowledge he was a career mid-carder and hadn't really done anything to improve. When he won the belt at Spring Stampede 2000 it basically confirmed to me that post-reset there was nothing WCW could really do at that point.

Similarly a lot of early NWA-TNA turned me off because they had guys like Brian Lawler and D'Lo Brown working as main event talent.

No idea! I think they have a deal with FITE but I'm not sure. I use watchwrestling.la in a pinch but that's illegal so I didn't say that. :suspic:

They may stream on twitch still. Not sure. But watchwrestling dot la is what I use. Just do not read the chat because they are truly something else.
