Telling yeah, Cody in WWE is a total work. He is being paid by Tony to infiltrate WWE and get their top stars to walk off. In two years he will reveal he is the poison that is killing WWE and jump back to AEW. It is the perfect angle.

Other way around c. Cody only went to AEW as a super scout, he fulfilled his mission and came back. Know how Scott Hall wanted to do a few months in Japan instead of joining Turner? Similar deal, only Vince signed off on it.

Did anyone else lowkey cringe during those mania openings where they're basically giving themselves a pat on the back for being GLADIATORS. I always no sold until the first match and that was why. Showcase of the Immortals... STFU it ain't that serious.

I just saw a guy in an AEW sweater, this is the shit I love seeing.

Once saw a guy at work (maybe have relayed this story before) with one of those pull string backpacks with an AEW logo. Before I had a chance to break the ice he quit. Gutted.

Loved Christian here. He fed into that Cena hate big time. Outside of that I think he had a solid upper midcard career. Didn't like his world title wins, but did feel they "fit" the moniker of CLB to a tee.

Why did the promoter not try to draw a couple thousand fans for Bret Hart managing FTR. It looks like it was literally done in a high school gym.

Big Time Wrestling is so weird. They always get big names for shows and they run in venues that hold like 200 people. Lucha Bros were at the same show. And I’m pretty sure they got the Hardys first match back together after Jeff left WWE.

The company used to be owned by Kirk White who was a big promoter in California and good friends with a lot of old school guys, Bret Hart included. But he died in December. No idea who is running it now or why they insist on tiny venues for huge moments. FTR has been wanting this forever and when it finally happens, it happens there? The fuck?

Neither FTR or Hart will draw thousands anyway. And IIRC it was Lombardi with NEW that reunited the Hardy's. Dude has great relationships with all these guys and usually is damn quick. Dude may be one of the greatest fed runners of all time. Been going since 96 regularly with no major drama or controversy. Minor shit sure, but nothing big. And seems everyone loves Mike. He literally cleared away all other competitors in CT, and even got CTWE to like merge with them absorbing the venue and talent.

Also he has some crazy belts. Not uncommon for a belt to stay with a guy for a year. Fans of indy wrestling know this does not happen often. Fun fact of his world title too, former holders are Bam Bam, Psycho Sid, Cody Rhodes, Paul London, Darby Allin, Matt Taven, Dan Maff and others. And my buddy out did them all coming in at over three years total of holding the belt like Gollum holds on to the ring.

But yeah it is super hard to to really spike a venue. Big names and you get a big name crowd, but they have diminishing returns. And FTR and Bret while awesome, are not the guys that scream must see to most wrestling fans right now who likely only know WWE.  Then again, I am fairly sure you could drop Reigns vs Edge into one of these shows, and still not draw more than a few thousands.  It is REAL hard to get people out for indy stuff unless you market to the smarks ala AEW and most promoters would lose cash trying it.  Many do not even book wrestlers on the shows anymore, just for the signings as the extra tickets sold do not beat the booking fee.

Looks like the days of rubber Jack are behind him. Evans is weird, seen him walk off far worse. CoD VI for instance.  Looks like he got a stinger there though, landed on his lower neck.

They are saying it is one of the best spotfests AAA ever did. Was def good. Reminded me of the old RoH scrambles with bigger guys.
