So AEW should never release talent?

I do find it weird that all of these people that everyone says are so important to push now, they never mention in any of the AEW threads.  Think HR was the only person really backing Swole.  Surely people will be rooting for her in NXT now right?  Assuming she has a job by the end of the week, since this could go full meltdown easily.

I don't even care about Swole but Tony Khan looks idiotic for tweeting that out on so many levels. So unnecessary but he felt inclined to respond back because everyone loves his tweets and he thought he would look awesome making fun of a critic to his company. 

Oh the tweeting back I absolutely agree with. It is something John Zandig or Frank Black would do.

The lack of diversity stuff though and pushing people who cannot draw because that will make them stars is total BS though. We seen what happens when you force someone on fans, they turn on them instantly.

One plus of all this, is now AEW will be pressured to get Lee, Gresham and Athena under contract and not just let them go to TNA without a serious fight. I am also assuming Cargill beats Ruby. Not a fan of Cargill, but belt does nothing for Ruby. Cargill however, if they want her over, should have a run.

He looked like an absolute dweeb responding and bigger prick throwing in that line promoting 4 blonde white women - he knew what he was doing. He knew.

And that is kind of why I do not take this most of the outrage seriously. I seen a bunch of people say that.

All the good female talent they let go and they hire her. If they hired her for her personality more then her wrestling ability then they could have kept B-Fab.

Giving WWE track record they probably will hire her then release Cedric then release her.

It's just one guy though. Someone who doesn't have any record of doing anything like that. Velveteen Dream got like 20 or so chances, Odyssey Jones will be alright. Should probably stay far away from social media but he'll be alright. He might be why the WWE cut Keith Lee. 

She was hired because of her look. She is nothing special in the ring or on the mic. And now they can raid NCAA teams, her look is not that hard to find either.

He may be fine, but focus is now off of AEW.  This is how outrage culture works, people have the memory of goldfish and once a new scandal most forever all the prior ones.

Tony still should be picking up some of the free black talent though, since Athena, Lee and Gresham are all ready to go stars that can be put in the main event.   Looks like me may already be too late to nail down Gresham though, which is a massive loss for AEW.  And insane if TNA did sign him as Danielson REALLY wanted him in AEW.

He should be after Swerve Scott, forget the other hit row members. If you sign Tony Nese, August Gray etc. Swerve deserves a spot. Ex North American title holder, did good in Lucha Underground and has a good appeal. 

I wonder if Big Swole will have the same outrage if WWE were to let her go.

She is talking about all minorities. She claims that AEW is not pushing any minority talent and many agree that there is no minority talent in AEW getting pushed or main event time.  If they are in the main event or getting pushed than said minority talent does not count for a variety of reasons.  

Booking and TV time can be questionable for sure. I'm a Kenny fan but his over-reliance on Joshi talent is puzzling. Shida is excellent. Great wrestler, improving promo ability. I like her a lot. I don't care for the others though. I don't know why. Well, I might. when SHIMMER was around, Dave did a great job making me care about the Joshi talent. They each had their nuance about them.

I don't know in what universe you can say there's an "overreliance" on Joshi talent when the only real examples of Joshis used semi-regularly on TV are Shida and Riho. Yuka Sakazaki and Ryou Mizunami will show up a very rare once in a while but Emi Sakura, Mei Suruga, and Lulu Pencil are relegated almost exclusively to Dark. There was definitely a plan to use them prominently pre-pandemic the same way WCW used luchadores for the cruiserweight division, but the pandemic kinda fucked those plans. Now it feels like there's definitely an intention to phase the Joshis out, which sucks because they were barely phased IN.

To be fair some of the examples given are mid-card acts who have disappeared off of television for long spurts so of course they don't count.

Hobbs posted a message supporting Khan and praising his work towards a divers3 workplace.

Does this mean something to those saying Khan is doing poorly with respect to diversity?

Similarly to Swole, it'd be wrong to invalidate Hobbs's perspective or experience for the purposes of pushing a narrative. Personally, I think Hobbs is more than good enough to warrant a sustained push that could lead him towards a world title program in the near future. But the situation is more complicated than just "Who says Tony Khan is a good boss" and "who says Tony Khan is a bad boss" and trying to keep score about which minorities do and don't like Tony khan to prove how racist he is or isn't is, bluntly... gross.
